It’s not valid though, most of it was written and upvoted by trolls who did not buy or read the book. Almost none of the one star reviews are verifiable purchasers.
Well, he doesn't have much in the awareness of his own cognitive dissonance, and a driving force behind conservative politics is their own personal aggrievement at stupid bullshit rather than the things they should be angry at.

Why do people always have to politicize Dave Rubin?
@Piriathy Being Objective and "fact based" aren't the same thing, or even necessarily related. I'd say everyone bases their opinions on facts, but we filter those facts through our own experiences and biases, rendering our perception most likely *not* objective. Trying to be objective isn't hypocritical - it's a noble endeavor that you most likely won't be able to reach 100% of the time.
I let my ideology color the way I look at things, but when I admit that I give myself permission to get things wrong without feeling hurt. If I were to claim all my conclusions were entirely fact based, without considering my world view, emotional state, unperfect underestanding or unperfect information sources, then I would be starting from the position that I must always be right, and that anyone who disagrees with me must be wrong or lying. That seems like a crazy unproductive way to view disagreement.
Also, I don't even know why you're complaining to me? I said that "too many people" don't realize their biases in my original comment, not "everyone". It's possible that there are totally objective people in the world, I just haven't met or heard of them.
I kinda want to give it five stars and talk about how it's the most comfortable toilet paper I've ever used.
It's also in stock, so my toilet paper shortage problem just got solved. 5 stars for comfort, 5 stars for absorption.

The left has a tendency to dunk on its own people relentlessly if they fail to have integrity and work diligently to hold them accountable. The right will take just about anybody, as long as they persistently show a fierce hatred for everything that isn't the right. So yeah, if you're a sociopath grifter, I'm sure it's a lot harder to make money from leftist politics. Kind of hard to consistently convince people you have a pro-social moral compass if you are inherently anti-social.
(Bit of a distinction here between sociopath and psychopath. I believe psychopaths, such as the neuroscientist James Fallon, can be pro-social despite not being capable of feeling empathy. But sociopaths are, by definition, anti-social.)

John Iadarola on the Damage Report had a bit about Dave Rubin a week or so ago. Back when Rubin was still at TYT he and John were supposed to alternate running a weekly political round table discussion. He did one week then bowed out, John says his knowledge of politics at that time anyway was extremely limited.
I think what happened with Dave Rubin is he found progressive politics way too dynamic and challenging and just descended to his native level. Now he's on the right he has all his opinions and talking points provided to him and he just has to regurgitate the already chewed up pablum that passes for ideas at that part of the political spectrum now.
"just want lower taxes" is conservative doublespeak for "we want everyone else to subsidize us"

Not only that, some left wing parties (most notable) said that if they won the Presidency and the conservative party won the Prime Minister spot, the president will not let the PM rule. Not only that, since they came, all our 3 main TV newschannels dedicate their time trying to find weird stuff with the conservatives and the newly founded classical liberal party too. It's insane. They even created a new show where the only thing they do is find little things Ventura (the leader) or other members say and call it a lie.

"honest" review. What if someone's honest review is what they feel is worthy - 1 star? So he's telling people to downvote them and put 5 stars. So only put in your "honest" review if it's above 1 star but "5 stars goes a long way" even if it isn't honest? Ok, Dave.
This reminds me of how years ago actor Kirk Cameron of Growing Pains fame made a crappy Christian Christmas film called Saving Christmas which was torn apart by critics and given a rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The Kirkster fired back by getting his supporters to go on Rotten Tomatoes and inflate the audience score of his film. This worked initially only for his scheme to catch on and for everyone else who actually saw the movie to go on Rotten Tomatoes to trash the movie like nobody's business, bringing its score to even lower than it was originally.

i ventured on to amazon to see this book, I almost bought it until i read some of the negative reviews it had... these reviews were quite helpful in deciding not to make a consenting transaction, so I decided to upvote them so others would see what the free market thought about this work.

I remember when Rubin posted a pic on his Twitter essentially trying to show that something (I can't remember what, something political someone who didn't like him said), didn't bother him with a picture of a nicely prepared steak, but the steak was from google images.

In all fairness, that definitely sounded like a review from someone who was prepared to not like the book, and took time out of their day to not only trash it, but to read it and then trash it.
