*PLEASE NOTE* : After I recorded this video, I learned that many Foil Quill users are getting great results with much lower speed and pressure settings ( generally in the 3 to 5 range for both) than the default material settings that I've been starting with, so be sure to experiement to see which settings work best for you.
Also, here's a link to a very helpful Facebook group for the Foil Quill for Silhouette users (lots of experimentation and good information being shared here) : facebook.com/groups/foilquillsilhouette/
Another superior video that offers excellent information and comparisons of varying materials. Thank you so much.
Marnasuegma - Thanks so much for the kind comment! Glad that you liked the video. :)
Dura-Lar wins! Sure. I appreciate your thoroughness in testing, but, really, Dura-Lar is a ringer. "Then along came Dura-Lar, and it rules us all."
Actually, vellum is a close second, and I don't think it's a coincidence it's used to print diplomas and other display-worthy items.
Well, you know that I love my Dura-Lar. ;) The results on both the Dura-Lar and vellum were great, but Dura-Lar's smoothness put it a little bit ahead in the crisp results department.
Thank you for this video
thank you I really enjoy your videos'. just purchased the foil kit , this is great info
quilt stamper - Thanks for watching! I'm so glad to hear that you're enjoying the videos. Have fun foiling - it's addictive! :)
Hi there, thank you for the video! Just wanted to find out, how do you do the filled design?
Hannah Wong use the internal offset & repeat for each new line until filled in
Hannah Wong - Yes, like MrsB8T said, I used the internal offset option for these fills. More recently, I've tried a new fill method that's giving me much, much better foiled results with the Foil Quill on filled designs. Here's a link to a video with a tutorial for the technique : th-cam.com/video/LCsd5DHEjL4/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for such an informative video. Very helpful!
So glad that the video was helpful for you, Karen!
