I appreciate the depth of the range in Crayola more. I am also ancient and remember when you had a peach crayon as the only skintone shade. Ohuhu's saturation of color though is what I enjoy.

Crayola's lighter tones are definitely better than the Ohuhu's, but Ohuhu's darker tones looks more rich and warm while Crayola's look a bit grayish

I still think this shows it’s possible to make good art with cheap supplies. I’ve been using Crayola markers for years now, and I’ve personally found the best tool to help with them is a travel watercolor brush, one with a hollow handle you fill with water. Since Crayolas are water based, the watercolor brush will act as a colorless blender. It lets you blend a bit, fade colors and soften their edges, or even smooth out streaks a bit. Highly recommend getting one for any water based marker set, it helps a lot

You should probably start using watercolor brush if you use watercolor paper. Paint the crayola pigment in a smooth surface (like a palette or plastic) then apply it with a water brush. The paper won't peel and you will still have the same colour and vibrancy.

If the paper were harder and not printer paper the crayons probably wouldn’t have started tearing the paper but it’s blending came out really smooth and it looks really soft compared to ohuhu’s skin looking very vibrant which could probably be difficult if that’s not the lighting style you’re going for and if you can’t find any colors just as vibrant to match

I’ve actually bought all versions of the colors of the world set. The colors stay consistent in every form which is nice. This also means if you want that nice range of shades from crayola but you either don’t want the peeling paper or you just don’t like markers you can buy the colored pencils instead and still get similar results. You could even mix the different versions for more textures, like using crayon for a nice blush

I had a 48 ohuhu colour set bought for me for my birthday and I love it but they definitely have a lot of bright and dark tones and not so much like lighter and even more pastel like tones. So I had a pastel set of winsor and newton promarkers and they were actually really good for providing the lighter tones i needed between the bolder ohuhu tones. I also highly recommend the skin tone promarker sets and they have several series with variations in tones and they've been working great with ohuhu! Ohuhu is good but definitely works best with those promakers!! I love your illustrations here - the crayola range is impressive and I also really love the texture and look of your crayola portrait - but the paper pilling would stress me too understandably! Thank you so much for reviewing these!

Great video! The Crayola colours are lovely, they are set out nicely with the different undertones, imagine if they were alcohol! 🔥🔥🔥
It looks like you used the first version of the ohuhu 24 skin tone pack though? I'm pretty sure that's GY163 Green Bice, which is so weird to have in a skin tone set but one of my fave colours (not for skin 😆) The second version (and the 36 set) is much better on the light tones and isn't so orange for the mid tones.
