Cary Ann Hearst has one of the great singing voices in music. She is a treasure. Unfortunately, for some reason as Shovels and Rope they insist on singing every song together both verses and chorus as a muddy mix of both voices. I would love it if Cary sang solo for the verses and then they could sing together for the choruses with Michael singing harmony -- but Cary up front.
They have many songs where they do that! Also, if you’re interested, just look up her name only on TH-cam and you will see old solo videos of her. My favorite’s are the library session she does from the early 2000’s, where she sings her own songs, and also her video singing a cover of “dreaming of you” by Waylon Jennings ❤️
