That looked great, and way easier than I imagined. I almost went and bought two hundred dollars worth of fake dreads, but I think I'll just do this instead.

Do you dip the ends into the wax before you set them on fire, or just straight into the flame??

Jacqueline Commodore Yes, they are at first but they become more flexible as time goes on.
you can dip them in hot water for flexibility.

This hairstyle should only be done by someone who is light handed or done by yourself.
Mine are somewhat stiff when I do them but I do a completely different method. I use 2 strands of yarn to braid and 3 to wrap. 5 strands per loc. Mine take about a day/day and a half to relax down and I make sure that they're not tight at the roots so I don't feel uncomfortable.
You don't need to dip in hot water, but if you do, please be careful because the locs absorb a lot of water and become quite heavy, you could burn yourself easily.

Raquel Borges you can if you want. But bare in mind that the more you wash it the shorter the hairstyle will last.

Walmart has a lot of different types of yarn. Just use any one that is similar to the one I used in the video and I believe it should work fine!

No hun. You don't need hot water for yarn hairstyles. fire is what helps seal the ends on the locs.
The hair is cute looks like it's too tight.. and the make up was just NOT her color..the eye brows were on point tho..overall nice hair style😘😍

I see a lot of stylists doing it fairly tight or being really heavy handed with their methods. It doesn't have to be painful or complicated. It took me 3 tries to get it right for my preferences and now I'm
able to wear them for long periods of time
