Thanks for reacting to Willemijn, she's an icon and I'm so glad that I saw her in the Dutch production of Wicked! She was the longest running Elphaba: played over 2000 shows internationally, in 3 languages (Dutch, German and English) and in 4 countries (the Netherlands, Germany, England/West-End and the U.S.A./Broadway). So she also sang the songs in English ;). Fun fact: she's the Dutch & German (singing voice only) of Elsa in the Frozen-franchise.
Actually no, she may be the longest lead running elphaba, but when you say longest running elphaba it's Jennifer DiNoia for 16 years since 2004 until 2022 she has been the lead and standbys off and on many productions, asutralia (Sydney, Melbourne), West End, Broadway, Chicago, 1st National Tour, 2nd National Tour and even asian Tours
Willemijin... saw her several times... one of the best musical vocals... another Dutch powerhouse ^^ she was the voice over of Elsa in the Dutch Frozen syncro and the singing vocals of Elsa at the German syncro
fun fact: Willemijn is the only actress to do the show in 3 different languages. the first time in German (Stuttgart),then in her native Dutch (The Hague), and then on Broadway and in the West End of London.
You're a wonderfull guy, Highly. The fact you got touched and moved by this song did something to me too. Now i'm in (happy) tears behind my screen .... Thanks for reacting to this one
She made an hilarious version about getting lost in between languages during the show 😂 it’s freaking brilliant! You should really check that one out. As well as her versions of Forgivenesses Embrace, Meadowlark and all of her Scott Alan songs.
Haven't seen that many musicals in my life so: saw Cats in London (in the 90s) and late in the 90s a Dutch production of My Fair Lady and the last time I was in London I wanted to see a musical and had the opportunity to chose several ones but eventually went to see Wicked. Did not regret it as it is a wonderful show. This was already a later production run so no Willemijn anymore in London but whoever it was that sang the lead that night, she did a stellar job. BTW, the translation of the lyrics to Dutch is pretty good I just noticed.
You should watch videos of her doing this on Broadway or West End she’s the best Alphaba ever she has performed in Germany, the Netherlands and that’s her home country, Broadway and West end
Finally you discovered Willemijn😉 I've been a huge fan since 2012. You should check out her trillingual videos! She played Elphaba in Germany, The Netherlands, London and New York. She also voiced the German and Dutch Elsa's in Frozen, of which there are also some trillingual videos th-cam.com/video/KUTIoBlWmN0/w-d-xo.html This one in particular is my favourite. I got to witness this performance live and it was phenomenal
Paul, sometimes I give you some background information, this time you learned me something. I know we have many great musical singers. But I didñ't know Willemijn. Thanks.

Appatently Willemijn is the favorite Elphaba for Stephen Schwartz (the writer of Wicked)

She is great and she is very nice. I was there at the "Uitmarkt" with the Musical sing-a-long.
She is the best
hahaha heel leuk
By the way: she also played the roll in Wicked in the US in 2013…
She is way better than Idina menzel.. there is a video of idina singing with all the other elsa's and willemijn is also there
True!! Far better than Idina.
Funny to see the lip-syncing in English.
I thought she sings in German not Dutch
