I was born in Logan and lived with my grandparents at Holden 5 & 6 for a short while. My grandpa was killed in a mine accident in 1968 which was the first time I ever saw my dad cry. A lot of good memories from that time that I will not forget.

I see my family's name on the Buffalo Creek disaster 5 of them my grandmother and grandfather was from Logan West Virginia my grandfather's name was James Ray Adkins my grandmother's name was alfreda Burgess(Adkins) my great-grandfather Elbert Burgess was born there my mother was born there and all my aunts and uncle. I am the first generation born in Indiana. I have never been to Logan West Virginia where my roots are from hopefully someday I will visit

Hi Pamela. it's funny you mention Henlawson. I haven't heard that name in years but my mom and my aunt who are from Logan talk about it often. I grew up in Ohio and I always thought it was such a funny name for a town but watching these videos and remembering my mom's stories of where she grew up is really special now that she's older.

I love my home of logan, WV. I had to leave for work in 93 but it will always be home

Yeah. That one was bad. Still one of if not the biggest disaster and flooding in WV. At least the Southern coal fields.
