DIY 3D Printed SMARS Robot: A Step-by-Step Guide

- smars acronym of “Screwless/Screwed Modular Assemblable Robotic System” is a simple robot designed for the educational field. The main features of SMARS are the reduced number of components, the possibility of mounting it without screws and without soldering any part, it doesn’t need glue or similar and it’s really cheap to build. Another main point of SMARS is the modular design. You can mount different sensors and tools and design your own parts.
This is a great project if you are getting into #3dprinting or #robotics. It's very simple to build and print. S.M.A.R.S has a very friendly and helpful community that is always ready to help. There are different versions of this available online. I use it as a desk toy it's very fun to drive around my desk :)
Kudos to the original designer of the project for thinking out of the box. Tracks belts are held together by tension between wheels. No screws or glue is used which is really amazing and also very safe for kids to build by themselves. There is an official app and code available for this but I wanted to keep simple so I wrote my own code. Links for everything are available below.

Ender 3 pro for 3d printing. For cad i use solidworks. In this robot you cannot attach arduino with the case.

I print them as it is. I did not modify the scale. I print them at 0.2 layer height. Maybe you motor shaft is short.
Hello, do you have a step by step explaining not only how to build the SMARS, but also how to connect the cables, load the code in the Arduino IDE, transfer it to the Arduino UNO, and control the robot with IOS and Android? It will be very helpful really, although with 3 D printing I have no problems :), I'm new to robotics. When placing the motors in the chassis, and doing a test with the battery, they turn but on. opposite senses, how do you solve this and what was detailed before? I await your answer, if you can't, I have to understand it, anyway, thank you.

100m if nothing is in between. Wifi will have better range.

on thingivers it looks like you used a diffrent arduino attachment it looks like the protoype expansion module and i have the same attachment i just want to know how to build it with that
This is called l293d motor driver shield for arduino uno. On thingiverse they have made thier own custom board. But this one you can buy anywhere.

There is no particular website. You can download the model and have it 3d printed from any shop near you.
can i do this with an arduino leonardo?
You can but it won't fit on the chassis. You may model and 3d print a adapter for it or just stick it with some duct tape 😉
