The holy spirit was an integral part of my understanding of my transsexual identity. Like, as a queer Christian, throughout the many years that i denied that queer identity, i did not feel the presence of the holy spirit, and once i accepted that identity, i felt it and understood it for the first time. Luckily, most of the Christians in my life have been able to see the outward effects of that spiritual shift and thus were able to accept me for who i actually am. I always hope and pray for the queer youth who have to grow up in the environment cultivated by this woman and all the others in these movements. It's saddening, and my heart breaks when i see it.

Great job under the tough conditions. It is quite sad to me to see someone build so much certainty upon such empty platitudes. Almost every response was evangelical cliché roulette. However, I don't think you could expect much more under those conditions. That wasn't an environment meant to foster introspective thought.

Hey David, that's a pretty good interview. I'm pretty sure she will start reflecting in a few days.
Btw, when she went round and round on 'God's word', I thought you would ask "What if, the pope comes to you tomorrow, and says you were mistaken, what will you do?". Is that a bad question?

    • @SoundEpistemology

Fascinated by how much she repeated "political or liberal view". I wonder if she doesn't see 'conservative' or 'liberal' as "political" or if she is only against 'exposing' children to what she sees as "liberal" ideas.

"Do you have a way to tell if you're mistaken?" "Conviction, conviction in my heart."
The biggest frustration I have with evangelicalism is this sentiment that you can use your own feelings to determine truth. Its so backwards! Literally using confirmation bias as your validation method...

Doesn't "God's Word" also tell her not to wear adornments like the gold necklace and bat-shit mascara?
I'm glad you do what you do, but honestly I don't personally feel as though there's any helping most of the people who actually reject _medical science._ You're much more patient than I am :p
That said, I think what you're doing is valuable. I don't necessarily believe that I'm right about them being beyond help. They're just beyond the help that I'm personally willing to offer.
Every justification this woman gave was _feelings._ Fvck feelings, I can't have a conversation with someone who _only_ uses feelings to justify beliefs. There's no "there" there.

@@SoundEpistemology I'm not so sure that is true. I think it has been shown that emotion/feelings often outweighs reason/logic when it comes to people's thought process and decision making. I believe that reason/logic should dictate HOW we investigate and examine people, their thought process and decision making, but, when it comes to WHAT we examine, emotion/feelings is probably the primary place to start or concentrate on.
