The Suite Life of Zack and Cody really had CHARACTERS, usually in Disney shows, the characters are either full of teens or like family orientated. But The Suite Life of Zack and Cody had the range, Zack and Cody who were pre-teens, Maddie and London who were teens, and a whole bunch of adults as the side characters. And they all carried the show, it felt like a show anyone could watch. Zack and Cody’s shenanigans that somehow ends up getting everyone involved. I really liked London’s character so much, a little part of me could see her being the star of the show. The show was just iconic and probably the funniest Disney Channel has ever made (the spin off included, both of the shows are so funny and have such good characters)
One of the only shows where all the charecters carried the show. They had distinct personalities and I couldn’t hate or even mildly dislike anyone. It was the best

I am honestly baffled how That's So Raven is not on this list. Raven Symone was pretty much the queen of Disney in the 2000's. The show was straight up iconic.

I grew up during 1 and 2. So I prefer those shows.
Alex Russo was on another level. She was a different protagonist because she was an antihero, she was flawed, but her confidence was through the roof. She wasn't this idealized version of what a teenager should be which made her relatable. And her arch into a fully caring, booksmart (wizards study at least) person was earned and appreciated.
Wizards of Waverly Place was definitely Disney Channel’s best show. The show really solidified itself as the most iconic by season 3. They got rid of the lame tropes found in other shows like Alex’s arch nemesis Gigi, made Alex care for girly things like shopping less, made Alex less controlling of her relationship (like when she was forcing Dean to act how she wanted and then instead of controlling Masons werewolf behavior, she broke up with him), and didn’t make Alex pick Dean over Mason just cuz he was there first. The show really had all of the checks, my only nit pick was with how they treated Max. The sibling dynamic in the show definitely revolves around Alex and Justin, while Max was kinda off to the side. Even in the end Alex and Justin got to keep their powers while Max got the substation...😬if they ever do a spin-off series, I’d want Max to get redeemed. Cuz he definitely has emotions, as we can see in the finale when he was upset with Alex. He even admitted to playing dumb so I wonder if him being happy about getting the substation was truthful

I agree! I think they did eventually fleshed out max in s4 in turning him into Maxine and revealing that he had great business skills with the sub shop but I wish it was explored more is all
Personally, I liked the ending with Max getting the Sub-station? I was re-watching the show and now remember the episode where Max made a sandwich so good it was almost made the official sandwich of the New York Mets (Mets, Mets!). It felt a little bit like foreshadowing? I don't know. I guess I feel like it was a pretty perfect ending for a pretty perfect show.

The Suite Life on Deck was really good, the only spinoff that’s better than the original (in my opinion) or at least it’s just as good. Both of the shows were genuinely funny

@@Lex-jj7hb I have to be honest a bit of a complaint I have with oringinal suite life is how predictable some of the plots are and how zack is grounded a lot here's a list of episodes I think apply scary movie, graduation, what the hey, doing time in suite 2230, neither a borrower nor a lender be, and bowling I don't feel like that happens as much in the sequel and also I want to ask you a question were you mad that they took out carey and maddie as main characters for on deck

Honestly, the two shows flowed together so well that it pretty much felt like one long 6-season show. And like cait said, it feels like you grow up with them. I think the only thing that puts the og over the top for me by a bit is maddie's character. They tried to do the same with bailey but idk it was never the same

I like that Hannah Montana has the ending be about Miley and Lilly’s friendship. Miley Cyrus ran that network with the show and her tours and merch. I feel like all of the acting in the show was really good (besides Miley, but she was tolerable). Emily Osment especially grew so much as an actress and got even better in Young & Hungry, people don’t talk about her talent enough. The boys on the show are all funny they had Jackson, Oliver, Rico, and even Robby Ray, it was great

Liv and Maddie is really good, it’s such a nice, feel-good and positive show. It always puts me in a better mood when I watch it. Liv and Holden are a really mature couple and Maddie and Josh were pretty good too

I already knew Good Luck Charlie was going to be number 2, as it should! The show really focused on the family dynamic which is greatly appreciated. Gabe is definitely my favorite character in the show, the way we saw his character grow up was really well done to me. He started off being the devil child that was always wreaking havoc and as he grew up he naturally grew out of it. Most shows would try to either force the character to stay that way or completely strip them away from their original character design. One of my main issues though was how disrespected Bob was in the show, I wish Beau was there longer so he could actually have someone that appreciates him and enjoys what he likes.
Yes I agree so much, a lot of shows would have had the younger sibling character basically stay the same or change way too much. But they got it right with gabe. He went from being 10 to 14 years old so of course he was gonna grow up a bit, but he still felt like the same person

Agreed for That's so Raven that show was a Jam to bad it didn't make the list Definitely in my top all the characters are so great and the theme song is 1 of the best. Really gets me hyped to watch it.

Honestly Wizards of Waverly Place taught me more than any other Disney show in terms of life lessons - like when Alex had this whole dream version of her relationship with Dean after he moved away and then when she actually saw him again she realized her dream could never be a reality? And the one where she learned to make art her way without trying to please anyone else? And the one with that do-gooders club and how you shouldn't expect a reward for doing good? There are so many more tbh, and they did it in a way that didn't feel preachy, unlike some of the other shows

I liked the concept of the show but honestly Jessie's acting is so off putting it was the worst part of SLOD and Insatiable was unbearably awful. Plus the stereotypes were so pronounced it was impossible to ignore. I wanted to like the characters, but the racial stereotypes made me so uncomfortable because by the time I watched it I wasn't young enough not to figure it out.
The wizards finale makes me even more sad cause Justin became the head wizard cause the guy who played the old guy died 😭😭😭

I actually alwyas had a problem with the liv and Maddie family. I read that all the actors were originally for a show about a blended family and i always felt like it showed. The two brothers felt so disconnected from the sisters and not in a way like glc like they just felt like neighbors to me lol

I'm kinda surprised that the original That's So Raven wasn't on this list. Just because that's usually a fan favorite. But I since there were only ten spots, I definitely think that the ten which made the list are awesome options. And I am so happy that Wizards of Waverly Place is in the position that it is!! Also, Caitlin is so right about Disney needs to make another musical-based TV show.

i think the second time austin and ally got together it was better paced because it gave them time to come to terms with their feelings and what they seek out of each other. austin and ally are one of my favourite ships because of their friendship being the foundation of their relationship and them supporting and respecting each other above anything else. but i do agree with you that them getting together and realising their feelings for each other was too rushed and i wanted more pining and more time to realise they liked each other considering right in the second(?) episode of season 2 they imagined each other dating and were like “hell no 😐”. but also it makes sense them breaking up so quickly. (still them realising they like each other, getting together and breaking up in a span of 4 or 5 episodes was kind of wack)
Good Luck Charlie was a show that everyone in my family loved. It almost felt like it could've aired on ABC rather than Disney Channel. Yeah, it had those classic Disney Channel moments, but the adults were just as important as the kids. It was a family and I loved that.
I watched it for the first time during COVID out of curiosity when I was 16. I thought i would hate it but but I wound up watching the whole thing
Wizards will forever be my favorite disney show. One of the reasons I liked it so much was because they were Latinos! Like even if the kids were only half, they still celebrated their culture (the quinceanera episode but theres tidbits throughout the show) and I guess I really liked seeing that on screen when I was younger. Also aside from Hannah Montana and Suite Life on Deck, Wizards was the only show I finished before my own personal "dark ages" lol

Well a lot of people don’t watch Disney Channel and think animated cartoons, they think of sitcom shows.

I'm a little sad that KC Undercover didn't make into the list cause is one of my favorite disney channel sitcoms of all time. But I'm still happy with how the list turn out. Edit: Also this isn't disney but I would LOVE to hear Caitlin's opinions on Victorious
kc undercover was very underrated. zendaya (and the other cast members) were great actors and they all had pretty good chemistry and the writing for the most part of the show was good

Seeing the first scene of Liv and Maddie was so nostalgic for me since I was watching it when it first came out. Wizards, Good Luck Charlie, Jessie, and Phineas and Ferb were some of my absolute favourites growing up. I was too young for Sweet Life and Zack and Cody. Austin and Aly was one of my favourites as well but now that I'm older Idk it's not amazing just nostalgic

When I think about Alex and 'Wizards of Waverly Place' now, it amazes me that here was a show whose central character was lazy, hated school, snarked on everybody ... and she was the hero! On The Disney Channel! That's why I still love her and the show. 😊

@@brunetteartist2750 Not trying to gate keep, in my eyes I thought Disney Channel was at its best in the 2000's and early 2010's, that's all. After a lot of the good shows ended I wasn't as interested in its content, but that could also be just because I got older and grew out of it a bit.
They aren’t running out of ideas it’s just because their target demographic is a lot younger than it used to be. Take liv and Maddie for example most of the main characters are teens whereas now most of the main characters are younger kids.
I remember Austin & Ally gave me stage fright, because there was this arc where Ally has it, and I think I just wanted to be like her? I eventually grew out of it, but it’s just funny to me😂
I love all of these shows, but in terms of binge-watch-ability, it's always the OG Suite Life for me. Because London Tipton :-) and the Suite Life on Deck is a second favorite, because she just got more ridiculous there LOL also I love how she didn't have a love interest but was still the most interesting/iconic character in the show

Suite life of Zach and Cody was one of those shows where EVERY CHARACTER CARRIED THE SHOW every single character was amazing like the twins Maddie, and especially London. But the adult characters gave us some of the best moments Mr. Moseby, Esteban, Carrie, Muriel, and arwin. Not a single character that wasn’t iconic.
wizards of waverley place is literally one of my favourite shows ever. still now i will watch it and it doesn’t feel like i’m watching a disney channel show and sometimes in other shows (like austin and ally) it really does feel like i am. i think that alex is probably one of the best characters that disney has ever produced bc she had so much depth and like you said she wasn’t “perfect” and that is so relatable to lots and lots of people.
i love the suite life series so much!! that’s like my second favourite and i have such an attachment to it and even now i will watch it and howl with laughter :):):)
wizards is a show i watched the day it premiered and despite falling off of disney channel i tuned in for the finale many years later - so many good memories tbh

Ah, this list brings back memories of me secretly watching Disney shows when my mom wasn't home because she thought the laugh tracks were annoying and that lot of the stories were immature and stupid. 😆
The only ones she didn't mind were Hannah Montana, Wizards, Lemonade Mouth, & Descendants (I mentioned the two DCOMs to highlight my point 😉).

The 4th season of A and A was great
The top 5 (minus Good Luck Charlie as that was like 2 or 3 seasons in when I kinda stopped caring about Disney + Suite Life On Deck bc I loved it) was such a great trip down memory lane for me. I loved Disney back in the day, I grew up on it, and even to this day if Hannah Montana appears on my spotify i will jam out in the tune of nostalgia and also cause the music was so good. Wizards being #1 is very very satisfying as it was truly hilarious and refreshing in alot of ways and I really really liked it. So I loved this little nostalgia trip I got through this video ranking.
Also, of the clips, the Good Luck Charlies fit so well, dang lol.

The last scene of liv and maddie is so tear jerking. It just gives me goosebumps and still makes me cry.
I think the best thing about wizards of waverly place is how it grew with the characters. We started off with regular antics around getting certain spells right and dealing with magical creatures and it slowly increased to the characters using their powers to save the world over multi-episode arcs
