When Spencer comes to Teddy’s door and says, “You’re the one I want,” I always wanted Teddy to say, “How do I know you didn’t try Skylar’s house first? How do I know I’m not your second choice? I can’t trust anything you say.”
That would have been a great alternative! However, I like Teddy's response because it shows how sweet her character is. She even said sorry to him for not taking him back which I don't think she shouldn't have...
Since you mentioned sharpey, can we just talk about how great and under appreciated zeke was? He’s cute and he bakes. Like I feel like if sharpey (and the films themselves) gave him a chance they could’ve had “the good guy helping the antagonist become a better person to some degree” story arch but instead his character just kind of came off as a simp joke.
Sharpey's character had the best development and I'm happy she let Troy go in the end. I wish she could've had better relationships with a few other characters tho, like her brother. They showed at the end she was happy to see her brother achieve his dream instead of hers but it was such a random switch up i was upset
i will never understand why disney found it so funny to add that trope where the guy is constantly hitting on the girl even though she NEVER shows any interest whatsoever
I think when it’s handled well, it can be funny but usually it ends up being uncomfortable to watch because at a certain point it becomes a burden to have someone constantly like and hit on you even though you keep saying no or clearly show you’re uninterested. I see it a lot in regular tv shows (Big Bang theory, HIMYM, etc) where a girl will repeatedly say she’s uninterested and the guy still follows her around continuing to ask until the writers wear her down and she says yes
I think the only time it works is if theres a level of friendship where its a joking thing even if it comes from a place where the sentiment is genuine
I honestly feel like Riley and Farkle would've made a great couple. They told each other everything, they were always there for each other, they always know when something is wrong with other person, they always told each other "I love you", and they always had a really strong friendship.
i’m just so mad that Teddy did not end up with Bo. one line i’ll never forget is when she caught him cheating and rubbed the cake in his face and said „how could you“ i think i’ll never forget the way she said it it was so heartbreaking
@@MartialArtswithLucyLu i just personally think that going back to your ex who cheated on you is never a good idea idc if they learned from it good for them now they can be a better boyfriend for someone else i would just be done with them you have one chance and that’s it i’m not giving you the power to hurt me again and again but that’s just my opinion🤷🏽♀️ i guess were just gonna have to agree to disagree
I had been pretty young when this episode happened (I think I was like 11 and therefore had not been in a relationship) and even I felt heartbroken for her after seeing that for the first time. I was so mad when they got back together.
i *distinctly* remember that the episode where Maddie gets back with Diggie they had a live voting thing for who the audience would prefer Maddie to end up with and Josh won by a LANDSLIDE so it was even more of a slap in the face when Maddie and Diggie got back together. i also really liked Maddie and Diggie in the first season but when he came back their interactions were just all wrong and i was so happy when they broke up. i wish Disney Channel would stop having characters choose someone to be with simply because they have history with each other. if you're happy with someone new why would you break it off to be with someone who at one point made you unahppy??
WHEN DIGGIE AMG MAXDIE GOT TOGETHER I YELLED THAT I HATED DIGGIE AND I WENT TO MY ROOM SLAMMED THE DOOR AND DESTROYED MY STUFFED ANIMALS PRETENDING THAT THEY WERE DIGGIE!!! I HATE HIM.
Yes this thank you! It is such a terrible plot device! They broke up for a freaking reason! Of course some viewers may have gotten over the reasons emotionally but in reality Maddy probably wouldn’t have been able to take him back because he really hurt her!
Yea I think it had something to do with the actors dating in real life and it’s so freaking annoying when shows make a bad ship happen because of real life
I also feel like she grew up and like matured when she was with Josh, so it was stupid going backward in her progression by going back to Diggie time and time again 🙄 it's like the "it's progressing, just backwards" meme
Why does Disney always make the girl apologize when the man comes crawling back after he screwed up? Like "Sorry, I won't take you back for cheating on me" or "Sorry I won't take you back after you left me high and dry". Girl, you have nothing to apologize for! They did it to themselves. Take note people! Don't throw "sorry" like confetti.
@Eriona Pillow Dove and Ryan are actors. Anyone who doesn’t know a kiss on screen is fake and for screen purposes has the maturity of the high school sitcom they’re acting in.
Josh deserved so much better, he was such a great character, he liked Maddie for so long, they had two episodes together as a couple and then Maddie broke up with him for Diggie while also inadvertently breaking up Liv and Holden… idc if Dove and Ryan were an irl couple at the time, the way Disney had Maddie behaving was ridiculous
Ik I also felt like Holden and Liv breaking up was extremely dumb also!! In that episode I was a bit mad at liv because if I was her I would’ve knocked sense into my sister and said like “dud you’re dating someone else and diggie needs to get over that, I’m going to tell the news station that’s you so I don’t lose my boyfriend thank you very much”
@@clareniekamp7634 it's been years since I've watched Liv & Maddie and that situation still irritates me. Maddie was so selfish and it wasn't fair to Josh or Liv. Like let's be honest: one of them moving on was inevitable and idk why Maddie cared about Diggie finding out in the first place.
riley and lucas were supposed to be corey and topanga 2.0 but they never had the chance or the time to develop outside of these expectations, so they ended up feeling forced and unnatural
Off-topic from the original point of the video, but I like the analogy of divorced parents being weird together when you have no good memories. On TV shows with divorced parents, no matter how fine with it the kid is, there's a random episode where they try to get their parents back together because that's all they've ever wanted. I know it's for drama and kids watching at home who may be in similar situations to help them through it and all, but it always makes me feel so icky. Like I can't be the only person who isn't secretly wishing my divorced parents would reunite; them together is just weird to me.
That's why I like Antman from the MCU a lot. He's a divorced dad and despite things were awkward with his ex and her new partner, in the 2nd movie they all practically love each other like a group of friends who respect each other and have a pretty healthy dynamic in Antman & The Wasp
My story is a little different. My parents divorced when I was 11. My whole life before that I always thought our family was like a kingdom. My dad was the King, my mom was the Queen, and I was the princess. Then when they divorced it felt like my whole world fell apart. (I was a kid and dramatic) After their divorce I had never felt so lonely. I'm an only child so when it was just me and my mom or just me and my dad, it got significantly quieter. I also felt like I couldn't talk to them about how I was feeling because they were dealing with their own struggles and I felt like it was my fault. When they were still married my mother had a miscarriage and we lost my baby sister, so I feel like that played a part in it too. I didn't try to get them back together because I felt like they would resent me if I did. It's been 10 years since the divorce and they still talk to each other. They're friends, and they stay civil for my sake even though I'm 21 now.
i know right? like theres a part of me that got very hurt when they split up, but theres another part of me that knows id be more hurt if they stayed together
Yeaa I get that. My parents split and I was like it’s about time. I’ve never had a desire for my parents to get back together because I know why they split and them getting back together would be hell on earth. They still talk and joke around with each because they know each other but my mom is pretty good at cutting someone off emotionally so she especially has lost all interest.
This is my take of the Riley/Lucas/Maya love triangle. I finally figure it out why I don’t like it. I think it’s because Riley and Lucas was being set up to be Cory and Topanga Jr. They wanted to a love story like what Cory and Topanga had in Boy Meets World. The thing is Riley and Lucas didn’t really have much chemistry outside of being really good friends. Like you said they were always akward with each other. Lucas had more chemistry with Maya, which both the fans and the writers saw but I think writers still want Riley and Lucas to be like Cory and Topanga, so that how we got the awful love triangle. Another reason why the love triangle didn’t work is because all 3 of are friends. Both girls didn’t want to hurt the other, so they told the other one that she can have Lucas. As for Lucas, he didn’t want to hurt either girls feeling, since he friends with both. It was mess that I wish ended them realizing that all 3 of them are just better as friends and not as lovers but the writers want a endgame ship like Cory and Topanga, which they did. They had 2. Auggie and Ava (and they were 5-7 and was relationship goals, IMO) and Farkle and Smacke (my favorite ship in the series).
YES. Literally this. I don't like Lucaya or Rylucas because I see them as friends. Good friends and that's all they ever felt like to me. And I adore Farkle and Smackle they're so perfect. (Also Auggie and Ava). I also dislike Ryarkle because similarly to Rylucas they just always seemed more like friends (and I didn't enjoy the whole Farkle being in love with Maya and Riley thing) yet a lot of the fandom ships them? I don't get it.
Also I don’t know if this is just me I’m not a big fan of Lucas’s actor (Peyton Meyer) bc he was also in Dog With A Blog he has a relationship with Avery (Genevieve Hannelius’s character) it felt very bland bc of it felt like Avery cared but Wes (Peyton Meyer) just seemed to have gone through the motions
I always felt like Nini never deserved Ricky. I never watched the show, but I saw clips of the show. And basically the first break-up started because of a "miscommunication" on Nini's part.
Chuck and Trish are and always will be the worst Disney Channel ship ever. I love Austin and Ally but they did Trish so dirty by making her marry Chuck. Like I said, I love Austin and Ally, but Chuck is the worst character. He’s obnoxious, rude, creepy and sexist. The way he objectifies Trish and sexually harasses her makes me physically nauseous. Chuck probably would have sexually assaulted Trish if A&A wasn’t a kids show.
@@Missmagazinebura That would be great too. I also really liked her with Jace, the cute guy with the skateboard. He was such a sweet guy and he accepted Trish for who she was with wide open arms and he treated her so well. He bought Trish that nice chair and surprised her at her prom with a broken leg and he wasn’t even upset at her for bringing Chuck to prom. That is how you make a non-problematic love interest.
@@Missmagazinebura I write fanfiction about Jace and Trish quite often and her and Jace are dating, married and even have kids. One of them I’m currently working on is called High Anxiety.
My issue with Riley and Lucas is simple: They really set up the whole show to suggest that Riley and Farkle were gonna be endgame... Like was that not obvious to anyone else???
It was obvious to me that they were tease Lucaya and Riarkle, made us love them, but we're never going to give it to us. I feel like that's a huge difference in my approach to the show. I could hate Rucas all I wanted, but I knew at the end of the day the were going to be endgame.
Riley & Farkle were the *true* Cory & Topanga of GMW. Cory & Topanga’s love story wasn’t that Cory suddenly saw Topanga for the first time and immediately developed a crush-it was that they were childhood friends who fell in love. That’s what Riley and Farkle are. Riley and Farkle had far more deep, meaningful conversations than Riley and Lucas ever did. More specifically, they had deep conversations that weren’t about romance. They also had a lot more chemistry than Riley and Lucas, especially in later seasons when Farkle grew out of his turtleneck phase and was taller and more serious and introspective.
Well actually believe it or not that's not the first time she swore on a video. On her top 10 Violetta season 2 songs near the end that's when we see her sewering for the first time.
OMG YOU SWORE!! Idk why that hit different 😂😂 But yeah, I completely agree with what you said about Audrey. She was dragged through the mud and treated like dirt. I already felt bad for her before Queen of Mean, but that song really hit home. Anyone would crack under that kind of pressure. No one likes her, the boy she loved left her without any closure, she was gassed up her whole life to be queen and failed, her family sees her as a disappointment. I like that divorce analogy you gave. The narrative was positioned so we'd immediately dislike Audrey and Ben as a ship, but what does that say about Ben if he went along with being more or less boyfriend all this time (remember the pictures in Audrey's room;) only to leave her for Mal. Lovespell or not, that really says a lot about Ben and they really glossed over the ethics on that so Ben can still have his "pure and righteous king" characterization. And then they just all say sorry at the end...? It's a meh for me.
We’ll Ben before the spell was clearly not as in to her as she was into him. Then he was essentially controlled into the hole mal love song infront of everyone. Once it washed off he is in the wrong but he was genuinely more happy with mal so a young and immature boy would likely make the same descision he did
Well she was more into being the queen of Auradon, and Ben was never really into her because she didn’t really have a good personality. Their parents probably set them up with each other
as much as I agree with you that still kinda doesn't excuse turning everybody into stone and trying to destroy an entire kingdom, including people who had nothing to do with her situation
Here's my take with Riley and Lucas: I feel like most of this ship in the beginning was actually fine. However, it started really going down hill after they broke up the first time they should've left it at that and started developing the other ships on the show, ie Riarkle and Lucaya. I also feel like with HSMTMTS: Ricky and Nini where also carried on for way to long and I'm glad they ended them when they did before people hated them even more.
I’m okay with Riley and Lucas how they started and how their relationship went, but I wish that it would have ended with Maya and Lucas with how they matured as they got older. Rylucas was good for them being young little 12 year olds, but Lucaya was good for them having built a bond and being older, you know, 13, 14.
@@MartialArtswithLucyLu cuz of bad writing🤨. They were bland as heck and lucas had way more of a connection with maya. They made up some bs excuse that maya was trying to protect riley and thats why she liked lucas 😑😑
As someone who has been in a happy long-distance-relationship for two and a half years with being 8 hours of time zones and a 14 hours flight apart, I think I'm eligible to judge: The key to any successful relationship but even more so to a long distance one is communication. Like, keep the other person updated on your feelings, your well-being, daily life, current interests, major decisions etc. That way you will not experience a sudden change when you actually get to meet the person again. Important to note is, that they shouldn't always have to ask you to tell them, you don't want your partner to feel like they're prying. And don't tell them because you feel like you have to. You should tell them about these things because you yourself want to - which should be a given if you want your partner to be a part of your life regardless of the physical distance. It's also okay to wait to tell about something and the other should respect it. It's really a mutual give and take. It's best to find a sort of rhythm because rhythms, patterns and habits give us security.
Where did you get that that they would replace the entire HSMTMTS cast? Everyone except for Olivia seems really enthusiastic about the show, and it would be kinda madness to completely reboot the show.
Right😭😭 idk if it’s true but i looked it up and an article said that Olivia is committed to doing the show for at least 2 more years. Also season 2 literally ended on a cliffhanger so it would not make sense at alllll to just randomly switch out the cast
@@hannahbanana415 Tim Federle also said he would let Olivia go if she wants to focus on her music though, which I find really nice of him to not force her to do the show if her heart isn´t in it. But we will see, if Olivia is out they atleast have an easy plotline to explain her absence = starting music career thanks to Gina´s brother and that´s why she isn´t around, or maybe only there in a few episodes. But replacing everyone sounds a bit much, and I also don´t find any articles claiming that.
@@nikkiebedumb6642 I tried to look for it, but I can´t find anything. I´m just assuming it´s probably not true. It would be weird to get rid of the cast, they are all talented and relatively young too, so it´s not like it wouldn´t be believable anymore that they are highschoolers in season 3.
@@Beny763 i believe Tim also said he doesn't have the ability to let her leave though? he doesn't control actor contract stuff i don't think, just that if she could leave, he would support her. so ig its just a matter of it disney would let her. maybe she'll become more of a recurring character if not
Not going to lie, I rooted for Audrey in the third Descendants because I genuinely got to a point of finding Ben and Mal just kind of annoying. That said, yeah I would not ship anyone with Ben on purpose, I'm sorry. He is a real life sad boy.
Imo i wanted ben to get with evie but anywho, I do agree! I feel like Audrey was done so dirty in descendants and nobody seemed to bat an eye until she became a villain. Once that happened ben and mal shoulda seriously started wondering what their relationship was including the fact that they were always fighting or in a disagreement. Audrey should’ve been their wake up call
Audrey life was fine before Mal and her stupid book of spells came. I read a lot a webcomics with similar theme Some girl comes and breaks up the couple and makes them the 'bad guy ' even those they did nothing wrongs it's not true love okay it's toxic love I shipped Mal with Harry - mainly because the actors dating.
To be fair, the toxicity in Rini, and Ricky's codependency this season is probably why it was so high up. When it comes to VenBar I feel like they started off using each other, they were bad for each other but always knew how bad the other one was (Ambar was always good deep down and misunderstood, tho). Maybe, that's why Rini was higher up.
i’m so glad troy and sharpay are on this list, i thought i was crazy for not liking them after seeing all these fans of them online. i was trying to see what everyone else was seeing but i just couldn’t 🤷♀️ i never really understood why people thought she was the “victim” either, just never made sense to me
Have you read the Descendants books; cause in them it explains what Audrey was really like. Apparently Ben was totally miserable with her, cause all she thought about was herself, and no one else. Ben was always thinking about what the best for the kingdom would be, while Audrey was always thinking what the best for her was.
That's why I never really liked Audrey tbh, like she was basically just the typical popular girl who only cared about her social status. Like in the first movie, when a bunch of the girls were getting Mal to give them hair makeovers, she was complaining about it, not because of the whole magic ban thing in Auradon, but because if the other girls suddenly started asking for makeovers, then it would threaten her standing as a pretty/popular girl. Or one of her first lines being to tell the core four that she and Ben are royalty, not to be informative but to hold it over them and remind them that she and Ben are above them in status. She was just so self-absorbed to me.
@@moirayzabelle5260 That's what I thought as well, and that is why Ben deserved to be with Mal; as Mal is someone who care more then just herself. She cared about the entire enough to stop any evil that threatens the kingdom, or her friends, and those she cares about.
@@moirayzabelle5260 True, but I liked how after D3, and realizing how she was acting towards the vks ever since they came over. It is like you can tell she was very sorry for how she was acting towards them; even looking for forgiveness from Mal. Which I think Mal did forgive her; cause Audrey was the one who was really helping getting the wedding done. It looked like to me like she was trying to make up for what she did all those years.
tbh you don't even have to read the books to understand all that but relating to the antagonist is a very common situation bc they can be quite fun and people end up glossing over their flaws
I remember watching 'Descendants 3' for the first time and I thought that Audrey was the worst villain (like not a very good villain) I ever saw on Disney Channel! Especially in that clip, where she appears as evil Audrey in front of Ben. She was clearly trying to be bad to get back at Mal for stealing Ben and she wanted to destroy Auradon, with the hopes of getting Ben back. It made her seem pathetic and I felt like she wasn't tough enough to be a villain. She reminded me of a good girl at school trying so hard to be a bad girl. Like Mal had the toughness to be a bad girl, but Audrey was too prim and proper to be a bad girl (though she was a mean girl). But, I understand why she was upset in the first place. She was dumped by her boyfriend in front of the entire school, so she was disappointed because her family wanted her to marry a prince. It's been a hot minute since I've watched 'Descendants 3,' but I still remember very clearly that I never liked Audrey as the main villain.
Yeah, honestly I didn't think Audrey was really developed enough as a character for her being a villain in D3 to really work. Most of her characterization outside of D1 and D3 comes from the Wicked World shorts and the books, and she wasn't even in the second movie. So to anyone who hasn't read the Descendants spinoff books or seen the shorts, Audrey just seems like an entitled princess who's upset because she didn't end up with Ben like she was "supposed" to. Though to be fair, in D3 it seems that most of the pressure about social status comes from her grandmother, so I guess that explains her obsession with it in D1 (when the core four first show up, Audrey is quick to remind them that she and Ben are royalty and even shoots Evie down by saying Evie has no royal status), but again, in D1 she's just shown as being the typical popular girl who's vain and shallow and only cares about staying popular.
@@moirayzabelle5260 Exactly! I haven't read the books, so I just saw Audrey as the annoying popular girl at school. It was weird that she wasn't in the second film and then they brought her back for third film. Like it came out of nowhere (at least for someone that hasn't read the books). I agree, her grandma was quick to judge Mal because she was Malificent's daughter and put pressure on Audrey to marry a prince to continue their royal status. To be honest, I was happy when Audrey didn't appear in the second film because I hated her.
@@lateramae Sameee, Audrey just really annoyed me. Like…I guess I kinda felt bad for her after Mal spelled Ben to like her and Ben did that song in D1, because either way it still sucks to have your boyfriend publicly declare he likes someone else, but tbh it was hard for me to properly feel bad for her because she didn’t really have any redeeming qualities. She was just made out to be the mean popular girl. That and the fact that Ben didn’t really have a lot of scenes with Audrey, so we didn’t get to see their relationship on-screen beyond the scene in the beginning where Audrey is like “I’m his GIRLFRIEND, just so you know :))))”
@@moirayzabelle5260 Like you said before, she was very rude to the VKs, especially Mal (before she put a spell on Ben). That scene where Ben broke up with Audrey in front of the entire school was pretty messed up. Unfortunately, she reacted poorly to the situation by making out with Chad in front of Ben. You bring up another good point about Ben and Audrey not having much screen time as a couple. Right away, Ben was attracted to Mal, despite being Audrey's boyfriend. Ben and Audrey never had much chemistry to begin with and it looked like they were set up by their families.
Mal had zero toughness at all. It was all forced and felt forced. The only good villain in the entire series was Uma, and they couldn’t even get that right because they had to make Mary Sue Mal be better than her
As much as I dislike Riley/Lucas, Josh/Maya deserves to be the most hated ship from GMW because it's just so nasty that it was even presented to us as something normal. A literal college student saying he'll wait for an eighth grader??!! How are they not more talked about???? I will never understand.
@@TheMcSkilletz Not like they were in an actual relationship. You guys obviously didn’t watch 90s tv sit coms where teens 16 and up were dating college students and it was normal. This one at least they said: “Not now, but maybe someday if she wants to.”
THANK YOU! I also hate the "Sharpay is a victim" argument. Like, someone who tries so hard to make everyone fail multiple times in a rol is a victim?? What?? I mean, you wanna like the antagonist? FINE. But assume and accept that. you like someone who keeps causing pain in other people and enjoys it.
Did she try to make them fail multiple times though? She only convinced the teacher to schedule the rehearsals the same time as the games, and in the second one I dknt kmow what she was doing with Troy but was she trying to make his relationship fail? And I dont remember anythiny from the third one
@@BabyGirlTiny. Yes, she did. In the first movie she made the teatcher alter the day of the call backs so Troy and Gabriela wouldn't compete. In the second, she not only tried to steal someone's boyfriend, she made sure no one with a little bit of talent participate in a traditional show for employees. Which she had already won cause it's the people her dad pay who give the award, prize, whatever and they know how spoiled she is, so they always give it to her In the third, she told Ryan to try to steal Kelsi's music for Gabriela, cause she wanted to be Gabriela (her words) and sing Gabriela's song, and when she saw an opportunity to make Gabriela leave, she went to Troy so he would convince her to go and Sharpay would get Gabriela's role like she wanted. Then, she got mad for someone else be playing her role when she was one who caused it all, and ruined the performance.
@@Ana_Paula.Frasson Good memory! Yes, she caused constant trouble. Was Troy always the hero everyone made him out to be? No. He often got in his own way. But Sharpay was no victim. And just because a person does nice things for you doesn’t mean you owe them a relationship.
Yeah i dont get that either. Sharpay was also very privileged and was used to getting her way. I think one of the main reasons why she wanted Troy so bad is because she’s used to always getting what she wants. So she kept trying super hard to get him to like her
@@Ana_Paula.Frasson I already said the first one and the second one. Didn’t care for the third one, but from what you said, she wasn’t causing multiple bad things to happen. But that might be because all these are first world problems and none of them were serious.
the fact that both of the two worst disney channel ships actually end up together even though they both had better options and also they were both dating in real life which honestly i think it’s part of the reason they end up together
Well even if Bridgit and Shane weren't dating in real life Spencer would still have been endgame because keep in mind that all main love interest have to not attract audience but also the girls and none of her other boyfriend in the show were cute at all including Beau so Spencer was the right choice here!
I also didn’t like Joey and Willow from Liv and Maddy. I felt she was too aggressive and if the roles were reversed everyone would have a fit. He also made it clear that he didn’t like her like that.
Yes! It's the exact same thing as Liv and Artie. "Oh wait no! Actually I love her, and am NOT indeed terrified and creeped out like I have been for the past three seasons." I feel like they just didn't know what to do with him and needed some way to give him a finale moment, no matter how contrived. Should have just had him do something with the Parker tunnels imo
as someone whos watched season 2 of hsmtmts, lily was just there to cause drama, but my personal beef with her is bigger. because she didnt just come in and flirt with ricky, she came in and made him doubt himself when hes already extremely vulnerable. she manipulated him into messing up the whole cast and ruining a few dynamics for a few episodes. lily didnt just come in to add drama, she knew rickys trauma and weaponized it against him (thats the scene that was shown in the hallway as it turns out later she just lied through her teeth the whole time) honestly, if she had been genuine, i would be totally willing to forgive her. but lying straight to rickys face about going through the same thing only to earn his trust and infiltrate his *drama group*, i have no respect for her, and her last grab for his attention at the end (the scene shown with balloons and stuff) was just torturous to watch. TLDR: lily is manipulative and weaponized rickys trauma against him for *a high school theatre competition*
Can you please watch every episode of ever after high? I feel like this show is right up you ally. It’s basically a cross between Descendents and monster high.
Do you think live action kids shows have gotten less attention in the 2010s because people expect them to be unfunny pandering sitcoms which inadvertently killed traditional sitcoms? That's my theory because live action kids shows don't get as much respect as kids shows from the past, a revival of a kids show from the past or an animated kids show from the past AND present(The Owl House or The Loud House). Disney Channel has especially been disappointing me over the past year with breaking their decades long four season rule by renewing Bunk'd for a fifth season while cancelling Andi Mack or seemingly quietly cancelling Raven's Home. That show has its' writing issues sometimes, but not even bad shows deserve to be treated like that. Not to mention, it seems Bunk'd influenced every other Discom into being an unfunny uncreative sitcom about 12 year olds. Luckily, there are some glimmers of hope in 2021, Sydney to the Max, Secrets of Sulphur Springs, Spin and all of the animated shows. What are your thoughts?
I agree the only good liv action show on Disney right now is Sydney to the max imo and I think animated shows are taking over which is not a bad thing cause there are a lot of good ones “owl house, Amphibia, duck tales” Disney show just focus on there animated show right now and I agree with the bunk’d statement don’t know how that show got 5 seasons
@@Sub-v6b I think when you think about all Disney and compare it to now, they actually doing what I used to do in 2000s, when it comes to animated shows. They used to have a lot of animated shows (Proud Family, Kim Possible, etc.) but then over time it was less and less until they mainly stopped making them in favor of live action shows with barely animated ones. Also a lot of Disney channel shows back then took place in middle school and this did not start to change till the mid 2000s where you saw less middle schoolers and more shows invoking teenagers. Now they seem to be making shows about middle schoolers but with mixed success (reasons for this but not gonna get into it). Sooner or later they will likely start making shows with teens..that is if teens want to take part..
The thing with Spencer & teddy is that teddy wasn’t even the best to Spencer. (It’s been awhile since I watched the show so I can’t completely explain it) but they were both so rude to each other (clearly Spencer was worse) but they both treated each other poorly and mostly for a joke

I actually liked the start of Rucas for awhile but then it just felt forced and not natural. Like, I was hoping for a more better storyline for them rather than just meeting and liking each other. I feel like Farkle and Riley had more chemistry than Lucas and Riley did and also I loved Maya and Lucas together, their history was better than Riley's IMO.
I actually like Maya with Zay I just liked the scene where they were just sitting on the buckets at the car wash episode and I just liked when they were just talking together about there group and everything but I also like Maya with Lucas I know Zay ended up having another girlfriend who was in Texas but please if anybody agrees and would at least just want to see them together please tell me
I just binge watched it on Disney plus! Plus Caitlin has a playlist of her reviewing The Lodge. What frustrated me the most was the bursting out into song. I did not care for the music
i started watching Soy Luna because of your videos and I am really enjoying it! Made it to Season 3 and was happy to see Ambar and Benicio on this list ^.^
I feel like the love triangle Riley/Lucas/Maya really ruined GMW for me. It went on too long and at the end the reasoning felt forced. It would’ve been better if they did a love triangle with Farkle/Riley/Lucas and not drag it out of course. I like Smackle and Farkle together. They’re cute. But Riarkle would’ve been a fabulous couple.
I don’t ship Riley and Farkle but I love Lucas and Maya(they are the only ship in the show that I care about) and I’m so freaking mad that they didn’t end up together especially the reasoning it was so stupid
@@lovingsturnxiolo I didn’t ship Maya and Lucas. Their chemistry just seemed to be based on her messing with him and not much else. Maybe if they added some more meaningful scenes between them besides just the one at the campfire it would’ve worked for me.
Artie was SO gross and creepy and vomit-worthy. I still believe that Audrey was cheating on Ben with Chad. There's a scene in descendants 1 where Audrey and Chad walk up to Ben talking to Mal at her locker (WAY before she spelled him), and the way I'm which they were talking and laughing just did NOT seem to me like they were "just friends". There was DEFINITELY something going on behind closed doors and Ben's back. I'm still EXTREMELY salty Teddy didn't end up with Beau in the end. He was so much better for her then Spencer ever was. I'm honestly surprised that with as much hate as I've seen for the ship that Mal and Ben also didn't end up on the list. There's so many people that tried to claim they had no chemistry. But I'm glad they didn't make the list.
I still remember when disney did that live voting for that one episode of liv and maddie, and a question asked who should maddie end up with and when the poll showed up a majority of ppl voted for Josh than Diggie, and yet maddie still ended up with diggie. Man that infuriates me, Josh deserved better
If the original cast members don't come back for a season three I'm going to cry. We need more Seb and Carlos! And I want to know what happens with Ricky! And the music is so gooooood!
the cast (besides olivia) has expressed that theyre excited to do a s3. idk where caitlin got that info, but as far as i know there's no info out there about replacing them lol
I started watching soy Luna because of you and now I can’t stop!!! You should make a “top lutteo moments” video because I can’t get enough of them and I need more soy Luna content in my life!
I never understood girl meets world, to me it was just cringe. Lucaya has so MUCH more chemistry. I looked up the scene and omg what an upgrade! I know it's basic but a love triangle would've been so good, well developed of course😅. There were times when joshaya was like what the "main ship" couldn't do. Riley should've have another person come in or no one at all so she would focus on building her own self worth, confidence (I didn't watch it all so bare with me🙈) and realize sooner that they weren't meant to be. Then have Maya start having more vulnerable moments with Lucas and have them actively try to hide there growing feelings. Then everyone else figuring it out slowly (one by one) and have Riley be the last one. Because I guess I love a challenged friendship and trust issues😂🤷🏻♀️. From there have her have a meltdown and an identity crisis or something. Chaotic is the way to go😁👍🏻. I would be addicted to say the least, Love your videos💗
Ricky and Lily are bad, because they are pushing them to be endgame, but Lily is a terrible person, and I wouldn't ship her with anyone right now, if they give her a good redemption story
I really don´t think they would be endgame. If they get together they will definitely atleast break up at some point when all the stuff about the stolen harness comes out. I would be open to a redemption for her though, I feel like there is potential if they explore the divorce plotline for Ricky further, since Lily can relate to that. And she could actually become decent.
I dont really think theyre pushing them for endgame. Disney usually keeps original main character ships together even after breakups because of the history (Teddy & Spencer, Maddie & Diggie, etc.) no matter how toxic the relationship was
@@Beny763 yeah, is just the whole, she likes Ricky thing felt too fast, almost as if they were speeding for him to have a love interest after Nini left
@@patax144 Oh yeah for sure, a lot of elements of season 2 felt kinda rushed, which I kinda blame mostly on Covid. Except for the YAC storyline, that one was probably cut short because Addison Morgan (Emily) died. The biggest problem for Ricky and Lily is that they don´t feel like they had any genuine scenes with each other. They had that facetime call that was just out of no where. And the talk on opening night in the hallway, which seemed nice enough but is tainted by her probably just using him to sneak around and steal the harness.
I just started watching Soy Luna because of your channel! I’m only on episode 16 (and feeling a little daunted about the number of episodes) but I’m really liking it so far. I’m excited to go back and watch all your comments about the show in past videos once I *finally* finish it!
@@Jessica-oz5bmit’s because Latin American soap operas usually have a LOT of chapters! These Disney things are TV shows, but as they’re mainly built for a Latin American audience (and South Europeans too) we don’t get overwhelmed (there’s a Brazilian kid’s soap opera, called “As Aventuras de Poliana”/ “Poliana Moça”, with literally 871 chapters ahahh). I’m glad you were enjoying it!
I'm not really qualified to talk about long distance relationships but I dont think that diggie leaving for Australia without really getting Maddie's "blessing" angered me because if it's a opportunity you should take it. It's selfish but thinking about your future and "living" is something some high school kids blessed enough should do. The thing that frustrates me is ofc when he comes back just because of Maddie which showed how little he actually valued the experience going to Australia. Disney channel just had to get them together since they had history and dated irl. Shipped them in season 1 (just like Caitlin) but when Josh was introduced, shipped mosh so much more however there are worse ships out there imo
I agree that Diggie was not a villain for wanting to go to Australia, he's still young and should take opportunities like that instead of making all his life decisions about his relationship at the time (which might not have worked out either way, who knows, and Maddie might also have regretted holding him back). I just think Disney Channel should have left it at that and not tried to make him come back, since that ruined the whole thing, like you said. I would have been fine with Diggie if he came back for a visit, maybe, saw Maddie and Josh together and was fine with it - like, there could have been scenes with Maddie and Diggie both agreeing that it was a good thing they broke up after all and they can be friends now. But nooooo.
I´m honestly surprised how people still love Rini after the toxic mess that relationship turned into. But good for you! Glad you somehow still enjoy them together.
@@Beny763 I mean yeah I do think they should work on themselves and work on their communication because that was their main fault of their relationship but I think it’s the nostalgia for me from season 1 that always make me love them even more

Testing troy & gabriella’s commitment to theatre is not a bad move when they’re already committed to something else. She tells Gabriella good luck. She promotes Troy & Chad to golf (and tells her dad how good he is). Sharpay gave him all of that to sing a song (he did not do), but joins in with the rest of students happily. She gave the award to Ryan. She did not get to the school she wanted but was announced as leader of the Drama Club (her dedication is making the drama club as important as basketball). Troy’s late to both auditions. Their friends deliberately separated them for their benefit. Troy has everyone not working multiple times. Gabby & Troy split up because he took advantage of his promotion. Troy choose a D1 school to play basketball & theatre in (which has not happened) & be 30 mins away from Gabby. A rich girl wants to make the drama club as good as basketball vs The basketball guy who ditches his friends & goes through lucky situations.

@@Simbala-bq5vy I feel like the actors had good chemistry and people just ran with it 😭 I don't know if they dated in real life at some point but that would make sense cause there was a bit of weird tension in their on screen relationship
I actually like Riley and Lucas but I definitely feel like their relationship could have been so much better if girl meets world wasn’t on Disney Channel
i’m pretty sure the writers for GMW definitely intended to have Riley end up with farkle and maya with Lucas but the show ended too early. there’s no way they hired Sabrina and Peyton knowing they had that chemistry and really wanted to keep Lucas and Riley together and thought the audience would buy it
I kept waiting for Justin and Alex (Jalex) from wowp. This is a legit romantic ship and the fact it exists is so unsettling. Yes the relationship between these two SIBLINGS is the best relationship on the show but it's clearly a platonic relationship between two BLOOD RELATED FULL SIBLINGS WHO GREW UP TOGETHER AS SIBLINGS. there are many kinds of love not just romantic. The fact that people have to turn every emotional bond into something romantic/sexual is irritating.
Just got recommended your channel and to see that soy Luna was mentioned really makes me want to watch more videos since my family is Venezuelan but live in the US
For me the reason why Lily and Ricky are a bad couple isn’t just because Lily is bad, it’s that Lily has openly mocked Ricky’s friends, never apologized and Ricky STILL wants to go out with her despite it all. It felt really out of character
FR LMAO like she even laughed at his BEST FRIEND when Big Red tripped up and fell during his audition. And then when Ricky was like "Idk......maybe there's more to her than we thought" I was so done with him
pls benicio was the worst character. he’s so annoying and thinks he’s the center of the universe. the only reason ambar got with him is to forget about simon because she was scared to admit her feelings for him. benicio always felt threatened by simon because he knew that😂
What was with Disney in Liv and Maddie and Good Luck Charlie in making them go back to their horrible bfs when they had the ultimate catches 😭 I swear they were purposefully trying to irritate the fan base.
Riley and Lucas together kind of annoyed me. I don’t remember the show that well, but it was like a stereotypical cringey “quirky girl gets with cute guy” kind of thing, and I think it would’ve been a lot better if she thought she liked Lucas at first, but then realized that her true feelings were for Farkle and that her relationship with him was more real than her childish crush on Lucas, since this is a coming of age show.
When Spencer comes to Teddy’s door and says, “You’re the one I want,” I always wanted Teddy to say, “How do I know you didn’t try Skylar’s house first? How do I know I’m not your second choice? I can’t trust anything you say.”
that would’ve been so good!!
Agree!!
Ik,that'd be so good
That would have been a great alternative! However, I like Teddy's response because it shows how sweet her character is. She even said sorry to him for not taking him back which I don't think she shouldn't have...
I still can't believe Disney dead ass let Spencer cheat like that

Ok, but what did Maddy do? Go back to Diggie? That I understand, I just want to know more.
True! That was such a waste of potential
they had that idea in a deleted scene but they cut it for some troy and gabriella shit
Sharpey's character had the best development and I'm happy she let Troy go in the end. I wish she could've had better relationships with a few other characters tho, like her brother. i will never understand why disney found it so funny to add that trope where the guy is constantly hitting on the girl even though she NEVER shows any interest whatsoever
Yet in Miraculous ladybug it’s actually amazing lol
I think when it’s handled well, it can be funny but usually it ends up being uncomfortable to watch because at a certain point it becomes a burden to have someone constantly like and hit on you even though you keep saying no or clearly show you’re uninterested. I see it a lot in regular tv shows (Big Bang theory, HIMYM, etc) where a girl will repeatedly say she’s uninterested and the guy still follows her around continuing to ask until the writers wear her down and she says yes

i *distinctly* remember that the episode where Maddie gets back with Diggie they had a live voting thing for who the audience would prefer Maddie to end up with and Josh won by a LANDSLIDE so it was even more of a slap in the face when Maddie and Diggie got back together. i also really liked Maddie and Diggie in the first season but when he came back their interactions were just all wrong and i was so happy when they broke up. i wish Disney Channel would stop having characters choose someone to be with simply because they have history with each other. if you're happy with someone new why would you break it off to be with someone who at one point made you unahppy??

Yea I think it had something to do with the actors dating in real life and it’s so freaking annoying when shows make a bad ship happen because of real life
I also feel like she grew up and like matured when she was with Josh, so it was stupid going backward in her progression by going back to Diggie time and time again 🙄 it's like the "it's progressing, just backwards" meme
Ok but when Audrey said "most people get dumped because they're not good enough, I wasn't bad enough" I really felt that lol

It still baffles me how Maddie ended up with Diggie.

riley and lucas were supposed to be corey and topanga 2.0 but they never had the chance or the time to develop outside of these expectations, so they ended up feeling forced and unnatural
@@radioactive_baby hey do you want a virtual hug?
Lucas and maya didn’t fit

Right!? The breakup was necessary but it still tugged at my heart strings.
Right? First season I was rooting for them then the second season they were better off broken up
They were a better couple when they weren't dating
Trish should have stayed single and focus on her career
@@Missmagazinebura That would be great too. I also really liked her with Jace, the cute guy with the skateboard. He was such a sweet guy and he accepted Trish for who she was with wide open arms and he treated her so well.

My issue with Riley and Lucas is simple: They really set up the whole show to suggest that Riley and Farkle were gonna be endgame... Like was that not obvious to anyone else???
And also Lucas and maya
literally
They were the real Corey and Topanga

OMG YOU SWORE!! Idk why that hit different 😂😂
But yeah, I completely agree with what you said about Audrey. It's a meh for me.
same! i kinda related to the pressure from Audrey’s parents and grandparents, so that always made me a little mad.

The key to any successful relationship but even more so to a long distance one is communication.

It would be weird to get rid of the cast, they are all talented and relatively young too, so it´s not like it wouldn´t be believable anymore that they are highschoolers in season 3.

I read a lot a webcomics with similar theme
Some girl comes and breaks up the couple and makes them the 'bad guy ' even those they did nothing wrongs it's not true love okay it's toxic love I shipped Mal with Harry - mainly because the actors dating.

13:13 i love the “oops she swore” omg 😭 thats so funny for literally no reason
tbh that one scene from HSM 2 with Sharpay in the wedding dress with rock music always had me laughing my head off
i’m so glad troy and sharpay are on this list, i thought i was crazy for not liking them after seeing all these fans of them online. i was trying to see what everyone else was seeing but i just couldn’t 🤷♀️ i never really understood why people thought she was the “victim” either, just never made sense to me
Have you read the Descendants books; cause in them it explains what Audrey was really like.
I will never understand.
thats a good point!
Its probably because it was the main romance and Josh was barely on the show. Plus yhe triangle ended up ruining everyone's character
Maya wasn’t in eighth grade when he said that. I’m pretty sure she was 16 by then. They were all in high school in the last season.
@@ttiger86 Still a nasty age gap? She is a child, he is a grown adult. It doesn’t change anything.
Which she had already won cause it's the people her dad pay who give the award, prize, whatever and they know how spoiled she is, so they always give it to her
In the third, she told Ryan to try to steal Kelsi's music for Gabriela, cause she wanted to be Gabriela (her words) and sing Gabriela's song, and when she saw an opportunity to make Gabriela leave, she went to Troy so he would convince her to go and Sharpay would get Gabriela's role like she wanted.
Well even if Bridgit and Shane weren't dating in real life Spencer would still have been endgame because keep in mind that all main love interest have to not attract audience but also the girls and none of her other boyfriend in the show were cute at all including Beau so Spencer was the right choice here!

as someone whos watched season 2 of hsmtmts, lily was just there to cause drama, but my personal beef with her is bigger. because she didnt just come in and flirt with ricky, she came in and made him doubt himself when hes already extremely vulnerable. she manipulated him into messing up the whole cast and ruining a few dynamics for a few episodes. lily didnt just come in to add drama, she knew rickys trauma and weaponized it against him (thats the scene that was shown in the hallway as it turns out later she just lied through her teeth the whole time) honestly, if she had been genuine, i would be totally willing to forgive her. but lying straight to rickys face about going through the same thing only to earn his trust and infiltrate his *drama group*, i have no respect for her, and her last grab for his attention at the end (the scene shown with balloons and stuff) was just torturous to watch.

I still believe that Audrey was cheating on Ben with Chad.

If we’re going strictly non-canon ships, Justin and Alex is the ickiest Disney ship. That people shipped them is just wrong.
@Someone 333 Oh you haven't seen the majority of fan fiction about that here?
@Someone 333 Ikr! It may have something to do with how in those two actors in real life dated during the show here...!
But they're siblings...
How can people ship Alex and Justin if they are blood related...
@@Simbala-bq5vy I feel like the actors had good chemistry and people just ran with it 😭 I don't know if they dated in real life at some point but that would make sense cause there was a bit of weird tension in their on screen relationship
I wonder if the reason why Rini was a ‘successful’ ship in the first season vs the second season would be the entire Olivia and Joshua drama
I actually like Riley and Lucas but I definitely feel like their relationship could have been so much better if girl meets world wasn’t on Disney Channel
Ikr
@Eriona Pillow exactly! I feel like either ship would have been amazing regardless if the show was on a different network
I feel the same
Same. I really liked Riley and Lucas together and think they coudlve been developed past a puppy crush if it was on ABC or something
i’m pretty sure the writers for GMW definitely intended to have Riley end up with farkle and maya with Lucas but the show ended too early. there’s no way they hired Sabrina and Peyton knowing they had that chemistry and really wanted to keep Lucas and Riley together and thought the audience would buy it
I used to ship Lucaya, and probably still would if not for the triangle. Now I want Lucas and Maya to stay single and Riley should get with Farkle.
If you ever want a show recommendation, I truly recommend Julie and the Phantoms
7:49 “Spanish show”? Bro 💀💀
And then when Ricky was like "Idk......maybe there's more to her than we thought" I was so done with him
wait is the thing about none of the original cast of hsmtmts not coming back true???? bc i can't find anything saying that it is
I was wondering what she was talking about too. I've never heard anything mentioned either.
@@lindseycassella3015 like i’ve heard rumors about olivia not returning but not everyone else
pls benicio was the worst character. he’s so annoying and thinks he’s the center of the universe. the only reason ambar got with him is to forget about simon because she was scared to admit her feelings for him. benicio always felt threatened by simon because he knew that😂
fr
Omg i just realized that you have a t-shirt of Julio & Isabela 🥰 it’s so cute
