- 1845 The battle at Ruapekapeka pa marked the end of the Northern wars. In 2014 the Waitangi tribunal found that Ngāpuhi never ceded sovereignty to the crown.
Ruapekapeka is battle song, a call to action!
To all freedom fighters today, stand your ground so future generations also have somewhere to stand! A dedication to our tupuna who fought to preserve our sovereignty. We acknowledge you.
Special acknowledgements to the many hands who gave their time & worked with me on my vision for Ruapekapeka. Ka nui te mihi
