Hi this is Mel 🤗 I am the one who recommended this beautiful waiata after watching your reaction to Stan Walkers 'I AM'. Maisey Rika's voice transcends and reaches the depths of your soul, no matter what side of the Earth you're from. This song keeps me grounded and comforts me wherever and whenever. It's also the best lullaby to play for babies or for yourself 😍🥰 Thank you for your amazing reactions and feedback. I am not Maori but of Cook Island / Tahitian descent, born in New Zealand. My language is very similar to Maori. We were all one people once upon a time but as we traveled and were guided to discover our new homelands, we have all created our own language, culture and traditions and over time we have become our own people. I applaud and admire my maori whanau for keeping their traditions even after colonisation and still to this day are fighting against the colonisers who are trying to wipe Maori existence. Their mana is unwavering and it speaks volumes through their voices and actions. I do hope one day you'll find yourself travelling New Zealand as it really is a beautiful place. I will be coming with more suggestions. Keep up the reactions! Love & Light ❤️✨
