The morning this show aired was the day things were tranquil, but little did I realize that afternoon, many would die when a violent tornado would destroy the eastern part ofmy hometown.
It was, after all, when Kathie Lee first joined Regis on this program that it attained ratings heights not seen since when Stanley Siegel hosted what, when he started, as "A.M. New York" but, from April 25, 1977 until his departure on Sept. 8, 1978, was known as "The Stanley Siegel Show." However, unlike Siegel who burned fast and then flamed out, here the ratings win stuck, and national syndication beckoned.
I wish there more of these episodes before the show went National. Love to see it "when it was just a piece of slime show". So sad Regis is gone. Thanks for the many wonderful years of entertainment you brought to television. 😞😞
Does anyone happen to have the clip (opening ten minutes or so) of the first day that Kathie Lee appeared in the show as the new co-host with Regis? It was before they went national. I was there that day.

My Son was just turning 3 when this show aired.
He’ll be turning 39 this August.
Time goes so fast.
Such a great team💜

The day I was born!!!
this about 1 year before "Live" was brought to national syndication by ABC--for the 5 years before that it was only seen in the NYC market
0:00 Live from New York, it's the morning show and here are Regis and Kathie Lee!
RIP Regis!
That drum intro! Ha!
Some people I know in the NYC area still call Live with Kelly and Ryan "The Morning Show."

I wish there were more too. Luckily, I was able to watch it when it was "The Morning Show". Regis and Kathie Lee were just the same.
