Can someone please advise me of the interview process? I’ve seen most people do it as a demo class for a child but if I’m not doing Palfish Kids and want to only teach adults, is the interview process the same?

Hi Sandi. I think its important to make your own judgement. Don't be discouraged by the negative comments. Besides if you need the money, then you have nothing to lose. Also, they are reliable when it comes to payment.

@@Thee_bpdbaddie Hi there I had the same problem at around the same time. I ended up doing the whole process from scratch....I re did everything and it worked 2nd time round. They did take a long time to accept me....they said 3working days but it took about 2weeks...just be patient.

Listen Sandra, the picture book is really just for your extra benefit but it doesn’t affect your work opportunities too much. No you cannot really use your computer, although they have a site but most of the filters don’t work and they highly prefer you use a phone or tablet.

Hey there. It is important to keep up with the time, have a blue T-shirt, smile, use exaggerated gestures, have a colourful background and a Palfish logo, use props, use the ar filter. It will just be you and your phone, once the timer goes off you start. Do not expect someone there with you. Ensure that you finish on time and use your best teaching voice. Keep the camera at a position to show your shoulders and face. Smile!!!!! And do your best💜

Bianca you don’t click start tutoring if you have classes booked for the official kids course. You just enter the classroom. But if you are doing free talk then you click on start tutoring so that other people are notified that you are online.

I don't think so. You upload your information, once verified then they allow you to do free talk. Just reapply with a different email and check that you have included all relevant data.
Please Teacher , I am from the English speaking part of Cameroon 🇨🇲, I have my TEFL certificate but I don't know if Palfish will accept my application.
I am not sure what happens then, they give you 5 tries for each module. You have to practice and ensure that you read through all questions thoroughly before you respond.
Its based on how much you were able to teach in the previous month. If you teach a lot, you earn more points and the move up through the different levels. Each month you start back at level 1 again though.

You would register for a payoneer bank account. Then when you register, you put in your gmail account information. Payoneer allows you to withdraw money into your capitec, absa etc account

I also had the same problem but I did it again until it accepted. Speak clearly. And be patient with it. If it still doesn’t work, try switching app of and restarting the process.

I was just checking out your video, and I really like most of what you have to say. I am one that posted videos months back advising teachers not to apply there for a number of reasons, but also telling each teacher to consider the pay and current circumstances to decide whether it is still worth their time and effort to give it a go. (I have continued to help any teachers who come asking for assistance to apply.) But as you are accusing some of us of giving false information based on rumors, keep in mind that you are new on the platform (January of this year, correct?) and there is much that you may still not know about what was happening and is happening at this time. After the law changes started being implemented in China, pay was cut dramatically (it is not about half of what is was this time last year), and it was done so suddenly and after we were all told that pay would not be reduced. Teachers started being released/fired for things that were not previously grounds for removal. We were told (it was not a rumor) that students would not be able to repurchase packages with foreign teachers once they finished their already purchased packages. Thousands of teachers left or were removed from the program (we could see the concrete numbers of teachers on the platform before and after these changes based on our teacher ratings by comparing them). They stopped hiring teachers for an extended period (confirmed by my admin) but they never announced this publicly. The numbers continued to drop. Admin from the company were removed and all teachers were grouped under one or two admin (when they were previously divided among a number of admin who would provide support). Talking to the parents of our students now, we understand why the company is continuing...because PalFish and the parents have found a way to break the law. They are using foreign numbers to purchase new class packages. This is not rumor. This information is directly from admin and parents. If they are caught or stopped at any point, all foreign teachers and their jobs will still be at risk. And as for rude treatment of teachers, much of this is regards to concrete policies that PalFish has in place. They will excuse no cancelations or absences for emergencies unless it is something like a heart attack or stroke and is "life or death". They usually do not excuse other emergencies such as early childbirth (I was told this by my admin), death of family members (even with proof), natural disasters (hurricanes, typhoons, tornadoes, etc.), and you suffer financial penalties for these things. So, yes! Look into the information yourself and decide whether or not this is worth it is you! But be careful about accusing those who provide warnings! Because these things are real, confirmed by PF admin and many, many teacher testimonies, and it is important that each person can be informed when making the decision that is right for them!
Brittney, I am sorry but I was not referring to you, but was talking about general advise about esl teaching advise that many people in South Africa hear of. I am sorry if you feel offended. The videos that I make are mainly for people who have no income at all. As you may know, many people are struggling. South africa for instance, has got high unemployment rates and getting paid once or twice is better than nothing. Please dont feel offended, as you have a right to your opinion. In the end, we are all trying to do good for people. Many people are poverty stricken, and as you know the rand is weak when compared to the dollar. The money on Palfish would not be too low in South Africa. It could afford other people a way to get food and stuff like that. I do know that the pay was cut, but still, half a loaf is better than nothing for some people. That is why i specifically mentioned that everyone try it out ad see how far it takes them. If it ends, then at least they would have earned a little bit of money. People are struggling, most esl companies are not hiring, so Palfish is a good option for others. I am sorry about your bad experiences on the platform. I have not worked for long on there but I have gained a whole lot of experience that will help me in the future and other people may feel the same. So far, I have not had negative experiences and have gotten my payment on time each month. I have been absent and have cancelled lessons, but did not receive bad treatment except a fine for being late once or twice. Maybe in the future and when I do, I will provide honest opinion. My opinion though does not mean that others would have to accept it even when they want to give it a go. So lets give our opinions and have people make their own decisions. Again, sorry Brittney if the message offended you.

I just thought that it made it sound as if the warnings and concerns expressed were not based in reality, and they absolutely are! And I tell every teacher that comes to me that I want them to have an accurate understanding of what is going on so that they can make an informed decision. And I absolutely understand that this amount of money would still be very helpful to many! (I live in Guatemala, and the same is true here!) I just know that there ARE other opportunities available (even to SA teachers!), and so I want teachers to be aware of that also, because they may have opportunities to be paid their worth elsewhere! (and if PF has carried out pay cuts multiple times without sufficient warning, who is to say it will not happen again?) At the same, I know that if teaching experience is limited or success has not been found elsewhere, this really could be a great opportunity, so I continue to encourage and advise those that choose this company once they are informed! I love that you are successfully helping other teachers (especially South African teachers who struggle to be given the teaching opportunities they deserve) to find success here. I am cheering you on! 🥳

@@lifeeditwithprecious768 I work for AmazingTalker right now, and there are South African teachers who are succeeding there. (It’s more difficult when English is not the native language though). The nice thing is that it is very easy to be accepted onto the platform; you just have to work hard and present yourself well to thrive there. And there is no doubt that it is more difficult to get people to come to your profile if you are from some countries, but there is good opportunity there! It’s worth at least being familiar with!

They give you the material but you have to have your own props, background etc. which they later give you 100rnb for as a refund.

You can but i find that when the work gets a lot, you just prioritise the most paying one. It can take a while to get lots of students on teach me 2.

Dont worry about the sound test. Just check for everything else then wait for verification to succeed and book interview.

I don't think so. You upload your information, once verified then they allow you to do free talk. Just reapply with a different email and check that you have included all relevant data.

I am not sure what happens then, they give you 5 tries for each module. You have to practice and ensure that you read through all questions thoroughly before you respond.

How do the levels work? Is it based on how many learners you have?
Its based on how much you were able to teach in the previous month. If you teach a lot, you earn more points and the move up through the different levels. Each month you start back at level 1 again though.

You would register for a payoneer bank account. Then when you register, you put in your gmail account information. Payoneer allows you to withdraw money into your capitec, absa etc account

I also had the same problem but I did it again until it accepted. Speak clearly. And be patient with it. If it still doesn’t work, try switching app of and restarting the process.

I was just checking out your video, and I really like most of what you have to say. I am one that posted videos months back advising teachers not to apply there for a number of reasons, but also telling each teacher to consider the pay and current circumstances to decide whether it is still worth their time and effort to give it a go. (I have continued to help any teachers who come asking for assistance to apply.) But as you are accusing some of us of giving false information based on rumors, keep in mind that you are new on the platform (January of this year, correct?) and there is much that you may still not know about what was happening and is happening at this time.
After the law changes started being implemented in China, pay was cut dramatically (it is not about half of what is was this time last year), and it was done so suddenly and after we were all told that pay would not be reduced. Teachers started being released/fired for things that were not previously grounds for removal. We were told (it was not a rumor) that students would not be able to repurchase packages with foreign teachers once they finished their already purchased packages. Thousands of teachers left or were removed from the program (we could see the concrete numbers of teachers on the platform before and after these changes based on our teacher ratings by comparing them). They stopped hiring teachers for an extended period (confirmed by my admin) but they never announced this publicly. The numbers continued to drop. Admin from the company were removed and all teachers were grouped under one or two admin (when they were previously divided among a number of admin who would provide support). Talking to the parents of our students now, we understand why the company is continuing...because PalFish and the parents have found a way to break the law. They are using foreign numbers to purchase new class packages. This is not rumor. This information is directly from admin and parents. If they are caught or stopped at any point, all foreign teachers and their jobs will still be at risk.
And as for rude treatment of teachers, much of this is regards to concrete policies that PalFish has in place. They will excuse no cancelations or absences for emergencies unless it is something like a heart attack or stroke and is "life or death". They usually do not excuse other emergencies such as early childbirth (I was told this by my admin), death of family members (even with proof), natural disasters (hurricanes, typhoons, tornadoes, etc.), and you suffer financial penalties for these things. So, yes! Look into the information yourself and decide whether or not this is worth it is you! But be careful about accusing those who provide warnings! Because these things are real, confirmed by PF admin and many, many teacher testimonies, and it is important that each person can be informed when making the decision that is right for them!
Brittney, I am sorry but I was not referring to you, but was talking about general advise about esl teaching advise that many people in South Africa hear of. I am sorry if you feel offended. The videos that I make are mainly for people who have no income at all. As you may know, many people are struggling. South africa for instance, has got high unemployment rates and getting paid once or twice is better than nothing. Please dont feel offended, as you have a right to your opinion. In the end, we are all trying to do good for people. Many people are poverty stricken, and as you know the rand is weak when compared to the dollar. The money on Palfish would not be too low in South Africa. It could afford other people a way to get food and stuff like that. I do know that the pay was cut, but still, half a loaf is better than nothing for some people. That is why i specifically mentioned that everyone try it out ad see how far it takes them. If it ends, then at least they would have earned a little bit of money. People are struggling, most esl companies are not hiring, so Palfish is a good option for others. I am sorry about your bad experiences on the platform. I have not worked for long on there but I have gained a whole lot of experience that will help me in the future and other people may feel the same. So far, I have not had negative experiences and have gotten my payment on time each month. I have been absent and have cancelled lessons, but did not receive bad treatment except a fine for being late once or twice. Maybe in the future and when I do, I will provide honest opinion. My opinion though does not mean that others would have to accept it even when they want to give it a go. So lets give our opinions and have people make their own decisions. Again, sorry Brittney if the message offended you.

I just thought that it made it sound as if the warnings and concerns expressed were not based in reality, and they absolutely are! And I tell every teacher that comes to me that I want them to have an accurate understanding of what is going on so that they can make an informed decision. And I absolutely understand that this amount of money would still be very helpful to many! (I live in Guatemala, and the same is true here!) I just know that there ARE other opportunities available (even to SA teachers!), and so I want teachers to be aware of that also, because they may have opportunities to be paid their worth elsewhere! (and if PF has carried out pay cuts multiple times without sufficient warning, who is to say it will not happen again?) At the same, I know that if teaching experience is limited or success has not been found elsewhere, this really could be a great opportunity, so I continue to encourage and advise those that choose this company once they are informed!
I love that you are successfully helping other teachers (especially South African teachers who struggle to be given the teaching opportunities they deserve) to find success here. I am cheering you on! 🥳

@@lifeeditwithprecious768 I work for AmazingTalker right now, and there are South African teachers who are succeeding there. (It’s more difficult when English is not the native language though). The nice thing is that it is very easy to be accepted onto the platform; you just have to work hard and present yourself well to thrive there. And there is no doubt that it is more difficult to get people to come to your profile if you are from some countries, but there is good opportunity there! It’s worth at least being familiar with!
