The aliens only stop after meeting the space vikings
I mean wouldn't You when you meet straight up Berserkers With advanced tech and the Raw Furious Power of a real goddamn viking
@@connor_draco_tempest2891 Makes you wonder what in hell‘s name were they ready to send in if the techno barbarians failed!!
I came to say this as well
seems legit
A certified Space Wolf moment.
Hmm... 2:08. Keeping the _mortality_ rate and _morality_ rate of a war low are two very different things, methinks.
youthinks, therefore you're
I thought I heard morality rates 😂
I love hfy stories where humanity reaches the stars but at the same time has our various cultures revert or lean back into their native culture/religion. It's a beautiful sight
As soon as they started lining up the voice in my head started screaming: "Shield wall!"
From the planet types, to hyperlanes, this is very heavily inspired by Stellaris and I love it
I just wonder if they ever met the Pol'eish winged hussars.
I remember hearing that Poland now has the largest land army in Europe, and a lot of modern tanks. I wonder if any of those tank units descend from the Winged Hussars?
@@The_Viscount I think there is one that bears the name but it may not be anything to do with armor or infantry.
Little known fact: The father's of American cavalry are two huszar officers. One Polish the other a Hungarian. And that pairing is the oldest friendship in Europe going back to the time when the Mongols first visited Europe.
Nice to see that the Ukrainian Farm Tractor devisons are still active in this future 😂
Sounds like these ones were the confiscated Space-Russian tanks.
Meanwhile the Romanian division is jacking the shipyards. 😂
What are the odds that humanity knows they have this empire beat and are just screwing around with letting them fight some of our "greatest hits" as it were?
Just wait until the Heavy Armored Cavalry arrive- knights on horseback, charging the line? Or, at that point, are they updating to mechanized vehicles?
@@chriswedemann8599 motorcycles with lances
@@charnor2727 I like that imagery…
@@charnor2727 Drill lances? Maybe chainsaw poleaxes and The Dragon Slayer Sword from Berserk? Hell why not some famous Final Fantasy weapons? Also why didn't 1 of the "Space Vikings" Not have some "Updated to Mechanized" Mjollnir?
@@soulzer1912 Because the Norse people didn’t use hammers as weapons. They were tools. Thor used the Bright One as a weapon because that was a heroic thing to do- take a symbol of a common man and elevate it to truly godly status.
Anyone else recognize the lyrics from the song Hakkerskaldyr by Heilung? Really helped my visualize what the story was trying to portray!
I thought I recognized it! couldnt quite put my finger on it though.
oof gamel norska viking dem fjäderfä didnt stand a chanse xD
Came here to give heilung their shoutout!
Yea, I heard the ''era mela os'' and thought thats familiar.
Thank you. I had never heard of them. Nice Scandinavian War Chant. It reminds me of some of our US Army Infantry War Chants. Good times. Major US Army Retired
Aliens fighting the Dutch: “what the hell? I thought we had driven them to the shores, how is there more land? This wasn’t here last night…. WHAT DO YOU MEAN OUR CAMPS HAVE BEEN FLOODED!?”
"Fuck this, we are surrendering" a most wise choice, sirrah.
Until they run into the Sihks, the Gurkha, and the Black Watch as well. XD
They don't "run into" the Gurkha troops. The survivors just wake up and find out how many died during the night with most of their heads chopped off.
The Black Watch: Nukes are merely an inconvenience.
@@DHTheAlaskannice reference
"If someone tells you they're not afraid of death. They are rather lying, or they're a Gurkha"
Lucky for them, they never fought the Ost’rali’annes. Something tells me they wouldn’t have survived the first emu wave
oh, the Ost’rali’annes and the Emu have a defense treaty now? ... wise choice
Australia is considered the hard mode continent. However, I just think the player base is a bunch of noobs. They got their asses handed to them by a 90 pound bird. While in America we made a one ton cow on steroids go extinct by accident. We are not the same.
@@rexmann1984 Hate to point it out, but it was NOT by accident. The Bison were specifically targeted for a very simple reason, the native Americans Plains Tribes utterly relied on them for food, clothing and housing. They were shot by the thousands from slow moving trains, and the bodies simply left to rot. The Americans figured the easiest way to wipe out the Plains Tribes was to wipe out their primary food source, as the Bison didn't fight back.
Here is a fun little fact, Velociraptors were proto birds, the velociraptor you see in the first Jurassic Park film was actually about the size of a Turkey, hunted in packs and had a wolverine like attitude.... Not dissimilar to Emu's considering it......
And no, not Australian, but unlike you I have seen Emus and what they are capable of.... Unlike Bison they actually fight back.....
@@rexmann1984 First off, that cow isn’t extinct, it is very much still around, if only by our hand. Second, Australia contended with a completely different ecosystem than the rest of the world, of which included wombats the size of rhinos, kangaroos taller than a man, and a giant lizard that forgot the dinosaurs were wiped out 66 million years back.
That said, Africa could be a contender for putting both to shame, if we’re just talking wildlife. Pretty much the only continent to still have ‘mega’ megafauna, if you will
I watched a documentary on the Aussies fighting the Japanese across the Owen Stanley Range on New Guinea...
Two regiments pushed a division back.
Meeting someone more savage than you can have that effect
It makes me wonder what other tactics they encountered? Several different air force squadrons under British command? Charging ships with hussar wings?
Italian desert troops under the command of a guy named Rommel maybe?
@@julonkrutor4649 Many russian soldiers.
So many bagpipes...
A special unit of Finnish snipers perhaps?
Mongolian Horde but this time on armored and armed harley davidsons ?
My compliments on your ability to pronounce the chants so well.
Ok, at this point Humanity thinks of them as a joke and has sent in the larpers.
NGL - the idea of space viking would make me want to surrender!
Humans: *singing hakkerskaldyr*
This alien: what in the gotdamn?
Space Vikings, lol that's something I would pay to watch. 😂
are..... are the space vikings singing Bruce Springsteen - War song?
this broke my mind.
Fighting humans on an open field..... literally the first terrain we ever mastered. Good luck.
I was not expecting Space Vikings.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Wise choice commander
Paused... commenting before reveal... the retreat was the Free Ench.
Till Valhalla!
Great performance as always, and sorry again for having you try to pronounce most of these words 😅, for anyone wandering the song is Hakkerskaldyr by Heilung
Hilarious thing is I only know of Heilung, never actually listened to them, but they came to mind immediately while I was listening to this.
i like that deutsch is the only one the aliens pronounced correctly
I can only imagine the horror of facing of against entrenched Bul'ger'ian positions
up next? Afri'khans Toyota division!
Roll technicals, you slags!!!
Now imagine them facing templars and crusaders...
Just wait until Billy Bob, space trucker, gets involved.
Hakkerskaldyr by heilung 😂 oh that's perfect
A smart move General. At lest You will probably live.
Got Mit Unz!
Everybody gangsta until the viking ODSTs show up
Space Vikings!
Just listened to that, that video sounded more impressive!
Thank god, i thought someone would state the obvious.
for anyone who was wondering what the song that the Scandinavians are singing.
th-cam.com/video/DKJ3tKRKHec/w-d-xo.html
Smart general.
SPACE VIKINGS!!!
Wonder what their reaction to a proper war Haka would be. 😁
How did this author get hold of my last Stellaris run?
Definitely a Stellaris game
So they are fighting a selection of larpers?
Too bad the xenos don't have artillery or grenades.
Seems like they were in danger close range for artillery and as for nades that’s just on the writer but tbh the shields technically should be able to stand up to it since it’s a shield emitter and not just a shield so the writer could just say it absorbs the shock wave
I what to see the xeno's reaction on japan and there samurai, Ninja and mecha
The primal nature of the chant doesn't really convey through the story. Go listen Heilung - Hakkerskaldyr
A r/noncredibledefense user made this story
Then the british arrived...
Edit: clearly not needed!
Good thing they only fought the West and not the Viyetnamees or other Eastern countries
No mention of Russians? Chinese?
Come on man ah i mesn xeno. Its a challenge.. cone up with your oen in response.. show them what you are made of..
Early
You know its fantasy, the Donbass neighbors doesn't exists
God I hate all these stories pulled straight out of Stellaris.
ffs... this BS on HFY again. This is getting kinda boring.
I found it quite refreshing and funny. ^^
@@DasHeino2010 refreshing usually means different from the norm. When the norm on newish HFY is to hammer in Ukraine at any cost... Stale would be a better term.
@@VRDejaVu Space Vikings are kind of overdone as well tbh....
