      Same here. After living in MA for most of my childhood, I moved to Florida. My vocabulary had to change too because using the word "wicked" for very or awesome is definitely not a southern thing. When I called a sandwich a grinder, I was looked at like I had two heads 😂

    Great haul! I have purchased the Apple juice before too…it’s sooo good! I picked up my Azure order this morning and they had Pear juice on sale so I got for of those to try. I’m going to make some pear jelly and of course we will be drinking some as well. Also in today’s pick up I got for the first time A2 cheddar cheese to try. I also didn’t know they had sandwich cheese lol.
    I feel a little a kindred spirit today…I also DO NOT eat seafood. My hubby loves it and our kids as well but not me. It is so good for you assuming it’s wild and sourced well. I’ve purchased so many of the items in your haul. You’re going to be busy for sure.

      I am going to have to try the pear juice. I've heard many others mention how good it is. Pear jelly is a GREAT idea to use it for. Let me know how that cheddar cheese is. I've seen it but never got to try it. Yes, I am still busy preserving a lot of the produce from our haul. I love buying what we use when it's in season, though, so we can enjoy it now and in the winter. Have a great day! 😊

    Can you share more about your decision to use rose petals, hibiscus flowers and lemon balm for your chicken's nesting boxes? Are you doing it for health reasons or just because your spoiling them? Either way, I'm not opposed to it. I love hearing about what other chicken parents are doing. 😁

    • @rockymountainhomesteadangela
      @rockymountainhomesteadangela  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question! Herbs and flowers have many benefits for them. Mainly, I make them to spoil them, but also so they get the benefits. It helps keep potential problems at bay. The lemon balm is a pest deterrent and is calming. It can reduce stress too. Because we have about 80 chickens right now, I like to keep up with the cleanliness and keep the nesting boxes stress free. The rose petals are packed with antioxidants and vitamins for them. They're really beneficial. Hibiscus is also medicinal and contains compounds that are beneficial for people and animals. I switch it up often. Mint is a favorite, too. I just don't have any at the moment. Hope that helps! 😊

    Ok, here’s a question about your azure delivery: I was told that they can vary in time and that they’re not always there when they’re supposed to be, and you get notified, but not always until the morning of. Has this happened to you? Also, wondering about the unloading. I was told you must be able to help, is this true? I can carry regular groceries, but an older person, I can’t lift a 25# bag of anything. I see all these great products on here, that we can’t get locally, and I’d love to order.

    • @rockymountainhomesteadangela

      When I used to go to a bigger drop in a city an hour away, yes, there were issues at times with the truck coming earlier last minute or sometimes late. That's when I decided to start our drop up where we live. We have had zero issues. If anything, the truck is sometimes 15-30 minutes early. They know they are early and don't mind waiting. They'll sometimes take lunch or a break waiting for us. Many people help work together to unload the truck. There are always people who may not be able to lift something heavy, and that's totally okay. I love our drop! Everyone works together, and many people help take the time to help each other out and help load each other's cars up if needed. Azure Standard drops usually bring out the best people from the communities. Always a friendly environment for everyone.

    The only merry & bright spray I can find on the site is fragrance oils. Did you find something different?

    • @rockymountainhomesteadangela
      @rockymountainhomesteadangela  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe I misread it. Under directions, it says essential oils on the bottom. Under ingredients, it says fragrance oils. It does specify clean ingredients. There are non toxic fragrance oils out there. I used to buy them in bulk when I had a candle/body product business. www.azurestandard.com/shop/product/health-beauty/aromatherapy-perfumes/fragrance-oils-essences/home-fragrance-oils-merry-and-bright/23952

      At first, I mixed it in with the regular litter to get them used to it. Then I switched it altogether to just the pine litter. It's less messy by far and no more walking on the bathroom floor and feeling like we're at the beach, as my husband describes the regular litter 😂
