When you told the kids to get chocolate chips it was soooo sweet when your son asked his sister "can i please" and she let him get them...such a sweet sister and brother. Good job Mom and Dad.❤
I think one point you don’t mention outright but is implied through out this video is you know how to cook and bake. My children are now adults and their spouses don’t know how to cook. I’ve taught 2 of my children how to make bread (because they just watched growing up) but I’ve realized so many people just buy heat and serve items. Cooking from scratch, as you point out, is healthier and less expensive (though it does take more time). It would be great if more people knew how!
There isn't even a good excuse for not learning how to cook and bake. If you didn't learn it from home, there is TH-cam and the library. And people that don't cook and bake don't know what they're missing!!!
I appreciate this video, it really shows that you can grow your own food, but also make purchases where necessary. Bulk buying is cost effective and keeps me out of the store longer between visits, saving us money 😊
The way I save money on groceries is to buy items that I normally use when they are on sale. And buy several. So if sugar is on sale, I'll buy several bags even if I don't need it right now. The next trip may be coffee on sale so I buy several cans. Over time, almost everything in my pantry was bought at sale prices.
That’s how I do it as well. Since it’s just me, as a solo Mom with my toddler twins. I don’t feel like I need 25 lbs of flour lol. Plus my budgeting is different. I don’t have big big annual bulk budgets. Just a monthly grocery budget. But this is interesting to see how others bulk buy for sure ❤
That’s how I do it! We live in the city, so we don’t homestead but I do make 99% of our meals from scratch and we’re a family of 5. We have Costco at 45 min and we use them a lot but I will have to try azure. My relatives all own restaurants, so what I do is order in bulk from their providers also. I just call one of my uncles up and ask them to order stuff for me when I need it. It’ll take 2 days for my order to get there. I usually 50lb bags of beans, flour, hibiscus, chile peppers etc So Costco is my go to for many things, but for bulk wise, I use my uncles’ food companies.
Rumiano butter in bulk - food storage in freezer, the big blocks of raw cheese (Sierra Nevada), cultured farmhouse cream cheese (Sierra Nevada) & their yogurt to have as back up to homemade - are our monthly staples. Been doing Azure several months, it’s been awesome!
I heard about Azure Standard years before I tried it. Afterwards, I couldn't believe I waited. We are rural, and it's an hour and a half to Costco for us. The local grocery stores don't have a good selection of organic, glutin free, or bulk food. I love that Azure delivers close to us. I try to have a well stocked pantry also, and I mainly need to go to the store for dairy and foods I don't grow. I love seeing your family living a great life and being so food conscious.
For us, Azure has the best price for whole grains, raw honey, cacao powder, and a few others I can't find anywhere else like organic distilled white vinegar for canning. I agree with your kiddos, its fun to imagine we are like the little house on the prairie and stocking up a couple times a year ☺️
I buy tomato powder from Azure and use to make my own tomato paste. No more partially used can of tomato paste. I buy all my bulk grains, beans and many organic items. I love their 1 gallon jars to store my working stock of grains in my kitchen. Just be sure to order the lids, they are sold seperately.
I'm really hoping the amount of food that is left in those bags is put into another 5 gallon tub so it doesn't go to waste but what you're doing as far as cash envelopes and everything that's pretty cool I'll have to try to find the video for that
I’ve bought from Azure since 2012. We always buy: organic grains (wheat, spelt, oats, etc) Popcorn! (Organic) organic dry beans (many varieties) honey (gallon jugs) apple cider vinegar organic coconut oil (5 gallon buckets) 5lb block cheddar cheese Cocoa powder Coconut aminos produce when it’s on sale if we don’t grow enough. Love their stuff!
Azure is my go-to for animal feed, wheat berries, produce sales, sucanat, oats, fermented soy sauce, plant starts, and sometimes free pallets and cardboard (compost pile materials). Costco is where I pick up produce and other healthier ingredients.
I'm so excited to hear about the Azure company. When I was just becoming a young mom, I ran a health food co-op out of my home. Circumstances ended it, but Azure sounds even better for our family now that my daughter is the young mother. Thank you so much for sharing.
I wish I had known you when my kids were young. I do use envelope system now. It's just me and my husband now so I don't buy a lot in bulk but I do get a few staples in bulk. I loved this video.
Maybe if you had a friend to host it with it could be a fun thing! I actually really appreciated the community feel when we were there. Thanks for watching!
I have been ordering from Azure since before it was “cool”. I LOVE their coconut oil! It’s a way better quality than Costco’s and about the same price. Also, popcorn, oats, various GF flours, apple cider vinegar. Costco is cheaper for organic frozen broccoli, almond butter, peanut butter, maple syrup, almond flour, olive oil, and dried fruit.
Its nice to see you with your kids shopping. I raised 4 kids on my own and now that they're adults I've always wanted to live in a house that's got land with small animals like dogs, cats, chickens, meat rabbits and goats or one cow for milk. Or actually to live in an area that's got farms. I know I have alot to offer to a good common ity. I have a cosmetology license as well as being a certified head start teacher and I'm now in school o line at 55 getting Certified in Herbalism. Love making all kinds of plant medicine🤗😊
In the last year Azure & Costco have become my main shopping. Fresh fruits, veggies and a few bakery items from the store - but not much! I LOVE AZURE!
we love the Nancy's full fat yogurt and the cottage cheese-and every other month we get the sour cream- they are just so good- better than anything else we get at costco we get 4 large yogurt and 6 cottage cheese- we also love the toasted coconut- we get a 5 lb bag- store some on the counter and the rest I keep in the freezer (last forever) we add to oatmeal- and I add to yogurt and cottage cheese with fruit it is so good
Although it may not always be the cheapest, it offers us a convenience of one pick up instead of driving to multiple stores to get the quality ingredients I’m looking for. I love to buy the large tortillas, grass fed butter, wheat berries (including recently getting rye berries for starting a sourdough starter after seeing one of your videos) bulk spices, frozen veggies and fruit when my crop hasn’t fulfilled our needs. I’m working today on my order for a pick up next week! I love to see Azure videos, it’s a great way to hear of other products I may not have known they carried and to hear how others use them.
I recommend Azure for frozen broccoli!! It is the best, so tender and smaller baby broccoli florets. The price is decent too, especially since Costco prices on broccoli have grown so much.
We just started buying from Azure a few months ago too. We are rural as well, for a long time the closest drop was just to far. But a new drop was formed closer. So we gave them a try. So far we’ve been happy with everything. Costco is our other place as well. My husband works in town so he does that shopping for us due to it being over a hour from us, yes he drives a long way to work. 🫤 Azures bulk organic cheese is good. If you buy the 5lb blocks price wise we cant get it for that anywhere. Their Organic sorghum syrup is so good and good price. Their bulk hulless barely is good. The bulk organic pinto beans and bulk organic soybeans (i make our tofu) Im vegetarian so organic soybeans I use a lot. . I garden and can a lot but dont grow dry beans. Azure organic coconut oil is a good price in gallon size or larger. I always print out my Azure order or write it down and take that with me, then before I leave I mark off everything to be sure of what I have or dont 🙂 its easy for stuff to get in the wrong persons pile at our drop .. that way you can go right then to the coordinator and let her/him know if your missing something.
I've enjoyed watching your videos, thank you. I was wondering in the area you are in have thought about making your brown sugar. Bulk molasses is available and you can create your own broen sugar. From light to dark and it would be fresher than buying it. Just a thought, keep up the great work you and your family is doing.
Oh my goodness! That was so funny. I was watching when you were standing in the kitchen unloading and I saw the doorway wondering who could possibly fit through that door!! Then I realized the door I saw was to the next room as your husband walked through the actual door. Oh my. I need a nap.
I use Azure’s flour, sugar, oils, butter, beans, onion, garlic, bulk spices. I love their quality and their service. We are an ingredient household also. It’s hard at times, but, definitely worth it.
We love shopping at Costco, even though we are empty nesters. We also buy the organic frozen broccoli, and we found a recipe on roasting it in the oven (yum!) We also just found frozen, organic green beans. I was surprised at how similar our list is to yours. We stay away from processed foods, although if my husband goes to Costco alone, we might end up with some dumplings or frozen ravioli! What would be helpful for us is how to store the bulk items from Azure. Especially as we would be storing it longer since there are just the two of us. We used the envelope system for many years. I actually liked spending CASH!! Thank you for sharing all this great information with us!!
We are in New Zealand, so we can't get Azure, but I sure wish we had something like it. I do love to buy in bulk for the things we can't get from our farm. We only have 1 Costco in NZ, and it is a 2 hour drive away, but I still love to go a couple of times a year. I loved the idea of asking for the membership costs as a gift.
Azure has excellent sugar, oil, vinegar (I use it for salads only), pectin, flour (as you already do), butter, all kind of beans including vanilla beans and I even buy the jars, lids and bands. Love your videos
I am blessed to have Azure Standard out my back door. We go to their market in Dufur Oregon weekly and buy various things, it's the only health food store around for miles. We love their dried fruit, pineapple, pears, we love their Organic pecans too. All of it is a treat for us. One thing we have discovered is that you can pop Sorghum like popcorn and they sell it already popped or you can buy the grains and pop them yourself. I am a popcorn lover so anything like it is a yummy snack for me. I buy their wheat berries and their flour too and have been experimenting with sourdough bread and yeast bread recipes. They have a TH-cam video on wheat and how it's grown and the different types. This week they will have ordered "Dehydrated milk kefir grains" I am excited to try them with our raw milk we purchase locally. I have been making raw buttermilk from a starter that I bought online, but I bet Azure would have that too. Love your videos, thank you for the inspiration to make things from scratch, with nutritious ingredients ♥️
The majority of our bulk food is from Azure. Have been buying from them for years. Wheat berries, flour, cane sugar, oats, raw cheeses, butter, honey, maple syrup, coffee beans, frozen fruits, frozen vegetables, canned fruits and vegetables, dry beans, spices, potatoes, onions, coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, apple cider vinegar, molasses, cleaning supplies, tortillas, enchilada sauces, five gallon buckets, gamma lids, glass storage jars, canning jars.............I love Azure!
I don’t have a COSTCO within a few hours of me in Florida, but I’ve been bulk buying from Azure Standard monthly for the past 4+ years. Little by little it’s made such a difference in our household.
This was good to see. We let our Costco Membership lapse and got a BJ's one which was a 1/3 cheaper- but doesn't have as many things as Costco. We love the frozen broccoli, maple syrup, nuts, dates and I don't know if they sell them anymore- but seaweed. Our kids loved it. Especially trip around the holidays- it's fun to see decorations etc.
I Love Costco ! I'm single and do most of my shopping there. Great prices but 50% more in Québec 🇨🇦 You need to get the credit card from Costco , because you get nice return checks which pays the cost of membership ,.....and more.... when you are a big family it is really worth it .Never pay cash as it does not give any cash back ! BUT YES make a list! 😁NEW SUB Love your channel . Thank you for sharing ..what a lovely family. Greetings and Blessings🙏.
I just love your channel so much!! We have Sam's Club and they do not have the organic oats, wish they did. Now I'm thinking of grinding my own flour, never done it before. We have Sam's Club, Aldi's, and Walmart. So I stopped at a farmers market on my way home from work today and got Strawberries and Rhubarb. I want to make that barbecue sauce from your one video. We don't have a homestead but we just do what can and buy what we can afford. I do food prep on Sundays for our lunches and dinners during the week since I work full time in an office, I'm trying to eat healthier. The time thing makes it hard so I spend all day Sunday cooking so we can reheat during the week. God bless you all 💕
Thanks for sharing! It sounds like you are doing a really great job with the time and resources you have! I love the idea of bulk cooking on the weekend to prep for the week ahead. That makes such a difference in the week!
Whoops, we forgot to include it so thanks for pointing that out! Use code fromscratch for 15% off your Redmond order. glnk.io/oq72y/fromscratchfarmstead Thanks for watching!
Great food haul! Your children are so cute and well behaved. You are Super Woman - wearing a baby, a backpack, pushing a cart with 3 kids AND the groceries! 😊 Dad did the heavy lifting too! I always grocery shopped with my children when young and they also enjoyed it. Val C ❤️🙏🏻
We are in a Southern California suburb. Though we have a tiny flock of backyard chickens, we do not have great access to low cost, organic cheese & dairy in our local area. I love that I can buy what makes sense price wise from Azure. I also get my bulk baking & spice items from them. They even carry our preferred brand of chicken feed at a better price than our local feed store. I have also purchased bulk apples in season from them.
Oh yes, love Azure and Costco!! Not only prices but I can see they are both great companies. Azure specific- I buy oats, dried beans, lentils, gallon vinegars. Quite good deals at Costco for other organic bulk items so I usually price them out first. Or bulk section at health food stores. This was a great video, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing 😊 Was great to follow along and see how you do it 😊👍🏻 Buying ingredients and not the more convenient stuff really helps 😊🤑 I am single, and don’t buy that much in bulk, but I do buy oats, protein powder, chia seeds, dried fruit, especially dates and dried mango. I also buy frozen berries and veggies when I get a coupon at a store, and stock up for some time. I usually get a coupon about 3-4 weeks for 20-25% off, and I don’t have the biggest freezer so I buy for having for a good month at the time. I also buy coconut yogurt by the case (my local store order it for me, so I need to buy a case at the time), and soy milk when it’s on sale. I have a milk allergy and the coconut yogurt is a treat, and not cheap, but I just have a smaller amount and make a dessert with it, with chia seeds jello, just a little protein powder for taste and texture, and frozen berries, especially frozen cherries, and it’s really good 😋 I go to the store on more regular basis, and don’t grow that much food. I do get to pick my neighbors berries in the summer, and buy other fresh berries in bulk in the summer for freezing over the winter months. It’s a blessing everything you can grow yourself or buy local at a good price. My neighbor don’t eat there berries, and I can empty the bushes 😅😊❤ Love and blessings from Johanne, Norway 🇳🇴
I haven’t shopped at azure but I have been looking at it for several months. I like to buy in bulk because I don’t like going to the grocery store. ❤lifeatthenutthouse
I’m about to try azure for the first time thanks to this video. Currently, I use costco, Sam’s and my relatives’ restaurants lol All my relatives own restaurants. So what I do is ask them to order what I need in bulk from their food providers, and it arrives at their restaurant within 2 days. That saves me money big time! And sometimes they dont charge me or they give me a discount bc Im family 😁
Make sure you use their link in the description, it gives them some grocery money :). You will love Azure. Just be selective on the items are a good value.
We buy the wild caught salmon in the freezer section at Costco. We wait till it goes on sale and buy several packs. I buy at azure hard red wheat berries, hard white wheat berries and soft white wheat berries, organic oatmeal, organic black beans and then always look at the sale items. I, like you, grow my own produce and support local farms and our local food co-op for what I can't grow.
Great tip on the salmon - I'll have to look for that. We get the canned sardines from Costco sometimes or the wild caught shrimp (but that's a big splurge)!
I love azure. I buy most of our wheat berries from them with one exception. I found that breadtopia for einkorn was most cost effective. They can’t call it organic but they source it from organic farmers.
When I go to Costco I love to get their olive oil and minced garlic. Both last me for a really long time...I also paper towels and toilet paper. Might have to start looking into things like flour though now that I've watched this video
Azure Standard.. I buy their organic carrots so good and $1.39 per pound in 5 pound bags. I only bought 10 lbs this last time to try them they are so good will be buying 20 pounds this coming month, I shared with a friend/neighbor last month between her and her kids they went through 5 pounds within 2 days Wow! I can't eat carrots without my dogs begging for some too so Yeah at least 20 pounds. I shop Sam's Club in store once a month, have just started using their Online home delivery ( Free Shipping with Plus Membership) their Folgers Coffee 40.3 oz is cheaper than any of our local stores plus our local stores don't sell that bigger size container. I buy 6 heads of Romaine lettuce $4 something, a big box of tomatoes $5 something. I share my membership with my daughter and we're saving a lot her membership is free with the purchase of mine. Anna In Ohio
Great video Azure has been a great one stop shop for my family since 2018, they’re a great source for grains, beans, sugar in bulk . Their also great for gallon jars with lids for kitchen storing, I love their orange honey and bulk seasoning
Thanks for sharing!! I love that one-stop shop aspect. Good to know about the gallon jars - we could use some of those for milk. Bulk seasonings are another one that I'm excited to look into.
@@FromScratchFarmstead Montreal season is one of the best sellers for seasons, don’t was your money on taco seasoning is bland. Yes the gallon glass jars with oxygen absorbers are an amazing addition (they sell the lids their just sold separately)to the kitchen to use some of your bulk items without too many 5 gallon buckets in the kitchen area. Oh and the pantry labels are cheap enough , they make the jars mention above easy to label ingredients. Enjoy
I've bought from Azure for years. I buy my peanut butter exclusively from Azure. They sell CB's 2 organic peanut butter in the case of big jugs and it doesn't have to be stirred. I hate having to mix peanut butter every time I want to eat it. No extra oil is used. It's a clean just peanuts in CB's 1 or peanuts and salt in the CB's 2 peanut butter. All canning jars are much cheaper. You'll understand when you see your final price yet another big reason to buy at Azure. I love many of the refrigerated items yogurt, butter, cheeses etc but Costco won me back when they started selling grassfed organic butter from NZ so darn cheap. Raw cheese in five pound blocks and the 2 packs of 5 lb block cheeses are really economical if you freeze or freeze dry cheese. Chopped dates are fabulous. Azure's multicolored popcorn is the only popcorn I buy. Organic beans are the other items I buy. If you use gamma lids for your 5 gallon buckets Azure has the best price.
I mostly get fresh fruit when in season from Azure. We are in zone 9a in Texas and it gets too hot pretty fast and for some foods doesn't get cold enough in the winter. I started a couple years back buying #2 apples in the winter and making apple sauce and butter as Christmas gifts. Now it's turned into freeze dried apples and juice as well. I am just now venturing out to other produce like organic peaches, grapes, corn, etc. I missed the deadline to having fresh corn and peaches here in texas by about a month so I'm ordering from Azure for that. I'm also finding they have a good price on beeswax candles, bread flour, and grains as well. As for costco, I'm there too much 😂 BUT, I ALSO have to go in with a hand written list and cash budget. Mostly we get coffee, eggs, some produce, and some clothes for me when in my personal budget. I am working on breaking the habit, but I get really bad cabin fever and have a hard time staying in one place for more than 30 hours 😂 Even a quick drive down the road to fill up the propane tank for my grill and outside water bath canner makes wonders for my mental health. If I'm home too long I tend to mindlessly scroll on SM and then look and things online that I DONT NEED. Lol I love this video and pray yall have a great rest of your year. Blessings from Texas ❤
Another informative and super helpful video! Thank you! It's really great to see what you do buy and helpful for those of us still in between being able to grow/do more of our own and still relying on the stores. Of course we always try our best to source local but it's also nice to see what can be done when or if that isn't an option. I didn't realize Azure and Costco had so many options for folks that eat like us (real whole ingredients)
Grocery shopping is so educational for your children as well. I love Grocery shopping because I look to only buy sales so we as senior citizens can have variety.
I love your videos. I'm looking at ordering from Azure Standard as well, and your video showed me that it looks really doable. I loved your video where you made your chocolate milk. I think it was one of the first ones of your family's that I watched. Thanks for sharing very valuable information!
You’re so welcome. Glad this was helpful! After ordering from them and hearing all of the other suggestions of what people love from them, I’m excited for future orders! Thanks for watching!
We love Azure! Let me start by saying the closest Sams is 2 hours away, and Costco is 3. Even Wal-Mart is 1.5 hours and 120+ miles round trip. The Azure pickup is 45 minutes! I’m just getting into growing our veggies. So, I buy a lot of frozen broccolis from Azure which is the absolute best quality it comes all in florets and the perfect little bitesize pieces. The bulk fruit like apples and oranges is great. This year I bought the Azure plant starters which were cheaper than what I could find “locally”, their cheese and other milk products are amazing. Also, the customer service is suburb! Its only happened once, but I had an issue I called they credited my account and no harassment, no questioning, just “oh no I’m sorry let me take care of that for you.” I really can't say enough good things about Azure.
From Azure, I love to buy hard red wheat berries, soft white wheat berries (I think they both happen to be winter but I can’t remember), buttermilk powder, cane sugar (trying it out but I think I like Costco’s price better but Azure’s taste better, AP cleaner concentrate, leeks, garlic, onions, potatoes (not a farmer - YET)
How many chest freezers do you have and what cubic feet per each? We purchased a Danby, and I love it (but I didn’t realize that some chest freezers aren’t approved for outdoor/garage use. Ours isn’t 🙃 but it’s too late and I’m not mad about having one chest freezer in the house. But moving forward I would love one in the garage. We are new to North Texas, so I’m not sure how hardy the freezer has to be to keep temp when it’s grueling hot out. The garage gets toasty!
Thanks for sharing your go-to's! It's so helpful and I love hearing everyone's favorites. We have several freezers but we will often have a whole cow processed along with 50-60 meat chickens and everything else that we freeze so it's more than most people need. We've gotten all of ours off of fb marketplace for free or super cheap. We do keep them in our garage but Illinois is much more mild than TX, although I have had issues with produce freezing in our fridge/freezer in the garage in winter. I love our large stand up freezer so much more than our chest freezers for easy access and if we had to pare down, I'd keep that one! Hope this helps!
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing. Curious…do you freeze your grains at all? I ruined a whole 25 pounds bag of oats when I didn’t freeze them before storing in the 5 gallon buckets. 😢
I love paying with cash, but fewer places are taking it. I went to return a pair of shoes I had paid cash for, and the store didn't have the $55 cash to give me my return. They said I could get store credit or come back on the weekend when they have more cash. Now I have to go back when they're crowded on the weekend. So irritating!
Buyer beware☝🏽! My husband’s car has a costly repair at his dealership. We were headed home from church last Sabbath and all the lights lit up on the dashboard and my husband noticed that he was not able to accelerate properly😳. The first question that the technician asked us was where do we purchase our fuel? We said Costco and they said that’s your problem. Box stores such as Costco, Sam’s and BJ’s sell low grade gasoline, that is how they are able to keep their prices low. Overtime it affects your fuel components in the car. The top three companies that they recommended in our area were Shell, Sunoco and Marathon. Who knew😲? Blessings!
Have you tried the Fisher Nut Outlet Store (I-90 and Randall Road) for bulk nut purchases? A lot of the nuts sold in the U.S. appear to be processed and packaged at the attached factory. I’ve seen pallets of nuts with various labels on them. All the same product, but some are CVS brand, some are Jewel-Osco, etc. I’ve gotten 5-pound bags of pecan halves there for under $18, but it is kind of hit or miss as to what they have as they package different things each day.
I usually go over budget at Costco because i want to buy our regular items but if any of our regular items are on sale then i buy a bunch. How do you handle that in your budget? I often don't know what of our staple items will be on sale when we do visit
It's a good question! I agree that sometimes if something is on sale it makes sense to stock up, even if it means spending more than an allotted amount. We do use credit for certain things so I can always use a card if I don't bring enough cash and then we reconcile our budget at the end of every month so we'll just make sure it's accounted for then! Hope that makes sense! Thanks for watching!
I forgot to say, we get our maple syrup from a farm in Vermont, Collins Farm. It is our cheapest option for maple syrup at $124 for two gallons. We buy our honey from a local producer at 5 gallon buckets for $150. Coconut oil is from Costco, or Azure. Other oils and vinegar we get from Azure most of the time.
When you told the kids to get chocolate chips it was soooo sweet when your son asked his sister "can i please" and she let him get them...such a sweet sister and brother. Good job Mom and Dad.❤
They are great kids! Thanks for watching! :)
Agreed and thanks for making that point! I do think there's a resurgence in interest around cooking from scratch which is very encouraging!
Yes! Thanks for sharing this. ❤️😊
I usually 50lb bags of beans, flour, hibiscus, chile peppers etc
So Costco is my go to for many things, but for bulk wise, I use my uncles’ food companies.
Thanks for sharing! I love this way of doing it too! Shopping sales for the items you really need/want is a great way to save money on groceries!
Good to know!! Thanks for sharing!
I’m currently placing a huge cheese and flour order. Love Azure!
Organic avocado oil, cheeses, wheat berries, natural peanut butter... so many clean ingredients from Azure.
Thank you for sharing!!
Your daughter is so helpful. I noticed that she put the bag back so her younger brother could get the chocolate chips. You must be proud of her 😊
She's very helpful and a great kid! :) Thanks for watching!
So glad that there is an Azure drop near you! Such a blessing!! Thanks for watching! ❤️
For us, Azure has the best price for whole grains, raw honey, cacao powder, and a few others I can't find anywhere else like organic distilled white vinegar for canning. I agree with your kiddos, its fun to imagine we are like the little house on the prairie and stocking up a couple times a year ☺️
I agree that it’s a great source of organic items that I can’t find anywhere else! Thank you for sharing! ❤️☺️
Genius to make your own tomato paste! And good to know about the jars/lids - thanks for sharing!!
I'm really hoping the amount of food that is left in those bags is put into another 5 gallon tub so it doesn't go to waste but what you're doing as far as cash envelopes and everything that's pretty cool I'll have to try to find the video for that
I’ve bought from Azure since 2012. We always buy:
organic grains (wheat, spelt, oats, etc)
Popcorn! (Organic)
organic dry beans (many varieties)
honey (gallon jugs)
apple cider vinegar
organic coconut oil (5 gallon buckets)
5lb block cheddar cheese
Cocoa powder
Coconut aminos
produce when it’s on sale if we don’t grow enough. Love their stuff!
SO helpful!! Thank you for sharing!
The best part is how great are your kids helping out and checking everything was done correctly, love it
They are great helpers! 😊
@@FromScratchFarmstead yes, they are
Azure is my go-to for animal feed, wheat berries, produce sales, sucanat, oats, fermented soy sauce, plant starts, and sometimes free pallets and cardboard (compost pile materials). Costco is where I pick up produce and other healthier ingredients.
This is so helpful! Free pallets and cardboard?? Jackpot!! We are always looking for those things. I'm going to have to look into that!
I'm so excited to hear about the Azure company. When I was just becoming a young mom, I ran a health food co-op out of my home. Circumstances ended it, but Azure sounds even better for our family now that my daughter is the young mother. Thank you so much for sharing.
Yes!! It’s a really cool company and mission! I hope there’s a drop near you. And that’s amazing running a co-op out of your home! Wow!
I wish I had known you when my kids were young. I do use envelope system now. It's just me and my husband now so I don't buy a lot in bulk but I do get a few staples in bulk. I loved this video.
Aw! I love that you guys use cash too!
I haven't done azure because the pickup is kinda far. I actually looked at hosting a pickup!
Maybe if you had a friend to host it with it could be a fun thing! I actually really appreciated the community feel when we were there. Thanks for watching!
Azure carries Redmond salt and its less expensive!
So good to know! Thank you!
I really love Azure's raw cheeses as well as The Rumiano butter.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Very helpful! Thank you!! I'm going to look into their coconut oil and the other things you mention!
Butter, raw cheese, sour cream, yogurt, coconut oil, spice blends, popcorn, rice, flour and wheat berries....so many things!
Love it! I’m going to look into their bulk spices next!
I’ve been using their bulk spices for a couple years. Excellent quality, as you’d expect.
Their spices, medicinal herbs, oats, oat groats, and canned beans are great!
Good to know! Thank you!
Have you ever considered the Gamma lids for your buckets? I bought them and like them allot. Maybe add them to a Christmas list?!
I'm going to check these out! Thanks for sharing. A few other people have mentioned them too :).
That’s awesome!! Keep doing what you love! 🙌❤️
In the last year Azure & Costco have become my main shopping. Fresh fruits, veggies and a few bakery items from the store - but not much! I LOVE AZURE!
Love it! I'm excited to try more from Azure after the GREAT suggestions here that people have given!
LOVE the grocery content!
Thanks for the feedback!
we love the Nancy's full fat yogurt and the cottage cheese-and every other month we get the sour cream- they are just so good- better than anything else we get at costco we get 4 large yogurt and 6 cottage cheese- we also love the toasted coconut- we get a 5 lb bag- store some on the counter and the rest I keep in the freezer (last forever) we add to oatmeal- and I add to yogurt and cottage cheese with fruit it is so good
and the honey crisp apple- they are huge and are so much better than costco
This is good to know!! Thanks for sharing. 😊
Thank you for sharing! I agree that Azure is a great option for a one-stop shop. Bulk spices are on my list for my next order. This is very helpful!
I recommend Azure for frozen broccoli!! It is the best, so tender and smaller baby broccoli florets. The price is decent too, especially since Costco prices on broccoli have grown so much.
Good to know! I love those smaller florets too!
Thanks for sharing!! I love hearing what others do!
We love Azure for grains, popcorn, spices, rice, etc!
Awesome! Spices are the next thing I am going to look into getting! Thanks for sharing this!
Azure has a verity of chocolate chips, nuts, and I enjoy the dehydrated fruits…even dehydrated potatoes
Thanks for sharing!!
I've enjoyed watching your videos, thank you. I was wondering in the area you are in have thought about making your brown sugar. Bulk molasses is available and you can create your own broen sugar. From light to dark and it would be fresher than buying it. Just a thought, keep up the great work you and your family is doing.
I should try making brown sugar! Thanks for the suggestion. Thanks so much for watching!
I buy organic flour, sugar, granola, butter, crafters organic fruit spread, dates and figs.
Thanks for sharing!!
You will love Azure! Great product, great company! 💜
I'm excited to explore more of what they have to offer!
Oh my goodness! That was so funny. I was watching when you were standing in the kitchen unloading and I saw the doorway wondering who could possibly fit through that door!! Then I realized the door I saw was to the next room as your husband walked through the actual door. Oh my. I need a nap.
Haha!!
I love their butter ours is organic from New Zealand which is the no 1 country for dairy
I use Azure’s flour, sugar, oils, butter, beans, onion, garlic, bulk spices. I love their quality and their service. We are an ingredient household also. It’s hard at times, but, definitely worth it.
Agreed! I love that term, ingredient household! Bulk spices are the next thing on my list to look for!
This made me smile! So fun hearing from others with shared values. Thanks for the idea to do a follow-up video on food storage.
I am a mom of 7 most of our kiddos are flying the nest. But a good meal plan and shopping list is a must for me!
It makes such a difference!! Thanks for sharing!
I appreciate all of your videos. I couldn't believe your price on Chocolate chips. In Canada, they have gone up to $27 per bag. Absolutely outrageous!
Holy cow!! I've heard that cacao beans are in very short supply this year, maybe that has something to do with it?
@@FromScratchFarmstead Probably. Either that or gouging
Thanks for sharing!! Are food co-ops a thing at all in NZ?
Azure has excellent sugar, oil, vinegar (I use it for salads only), pectin, flour (as you already do), butter, all kind of beans including vanilla beans and I even buy the jars, lids and bands. Love your videos
Thanks for sharing!! I'm interested in checking out there jar/lid selection. Good to know!
You should invest in a cart so next time you order you won't have to go back and forth to the car💖🙃
Our top three Azure items are their oats, dried cranberries (and their raisins) and mozzarella cheese.
Very helpful! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing what you love from Azure! What a blessing to have that amazing resource so close to home!
Same for me!!!!
We also only spend $300 / month. But that is for all of our groceries.
If you put the quail eggs into an incubator they will hatch.
The majority of our bulk food is from Azure. Have been buying from them for years. Wheat berries, flour, cane sugar, oats, raw cheeses, butter, honey, maple syrup, coffee beans, frozen fruits, frozen vegetables, canned fruits and vegetables, dry beans, spices, potatoes, onions, coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, apple cider vinegar, molasses, cleaning supplies, tortillas, enchilada sauces, five gallon buckets, gamma lids, glass storage jars, canning jars.............I love Azure!
This is a great list! Thank you for sharing!
I don’t have a COSTCO within a few hours of me in Florida, but I’ve been bulk buying from Azure Standard monthly for the past 4+ years. Little by little it’s made such a difference in our household.
That's awesome!! It seems like it is such a blessing to so many! Glad you have a drop near you.
I've always seen the seaweed there but we haven't tried it! I haven't heard of BJ's but probably a more local thing! Thanks for watching! :)
We do azure every month and Costco every 3-4 and that’s mostly, organic snacks and such for they teenager athletes in my house
I'm sure when we get to the teenage stage, I'll definitely need to up what we have! Thanks for sharing what you do!
Learned of your channel from the collaboration list @MorethanFarmers, thank you for sharing!
So glad you found us! Love their videos as well! Thanks for watching!!
I could definitely see the Costco credit card making sense! Thanks for sharing and watching!
What a beautiful teamwork.
Check out the clearance section
@@FromScratchFarmstead Thank you. Made the spaghetti squash casserole with the eggs added, it was delicious. Thank you for sharing recipe. 💕
The 25lb bags of Redmond Real Salt are way cheaper on Azure than on the Redmond website!
Wow! So good to know! Thanks for sharing!
We are gluten free so i love getting Tinkyada brand noodles from Azure plus their coconut oil and cheddar
Love it! Yes!
Thanks 😊 where is the redmonds salt discount code please? Always wanted to try it!
Whoops, we forgot to include it so thanks for pointing that out! Use code fromscratch for 15% off your Redmond order. glnk.io/oq72y/fromscratchfarmstead
Thanks for watching!
Great food haul! Your children are so cute and well behaved. You are Super Woman - wearing a baby, a backpack, pushing a cart with 3 kids AND the groceries! 😊 Dad did the heavy lifting too! I always grocery shopped with my children when young and they also enjoyed it. Val C ❤️🙏🏻
I buy from the sales items on Azure for added savings.
Great idea!
So glad you have an Azure pickup near you! Thanks for sharing what you get. I'm going to look into stocking up on spices from there.
Great suggestions! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for sharing 😊 Was great to follow along and see how you do it 😊👍🏻
Buying ingredients and not the more convenient stuff really helps 😊🤑 I am single, and don’t buy that much in bulk, but I do buy oats, protein powder, chia seeds, dried fruit, especially dates and dried mango. I have a milk allergy and the coconut yogurt is a treat, and not cheap, but I just have a smaller amount and make a dessert with it, with chia seeds jello, just a little protein powder for taste and texture, and frozen berries, especially frozen cherries, and it’s really good 😋
I go to the store on more regular basis, and don’t grow that much food. I do get to pick my neighbors berries in the summer, and buy other fresh berries in bulk in the summer for freezing over the winter months. It’s a blessing everything you can grow yourself or buy local at a good price. My neighbor don’t eat there berries, and I can empty the bushes 😅😊❤
Love and blessings from Johanne, Norway 🇳🇴
Thanks so much for sharing this! It's so interesting to hear about how others do it! All the best!
Azure is wonderful!
We are so glad we started using them!
I haven’t shopped at azure but I have been looking at it for several months. I like to buy in bulk because I don’t like going to the grocery store.
❤lifeatthenutthouse
Thanks for sharing! After reading everyone's comments here, I'm excited to check out more of their products!
What a blessing to have that ability with family restaurants! I hope you have a great experience with Azure! :)
Azure for grains and organic bulk items like beans, dry milk, etc.
Thanks for sharing!
I love azure. I buy most of our wheat berries from them with one exception. I found that breadtopia for einkorn was most cost effective. They can’t call it organic but they source it from organic farmers.
Ooh! Thanks for sharing that tip about the einkorn! We love einkorn but I thought it was a bit pricey from Azure so this is really good to know!
Thanks for sharing!! Good to know about the Carrots!
Enjoy
Love Redmond. Thank you for the discount code!
You're welcome! It's the best!
SO helpful!! Thank you for sharing!
As for costco, I'm there too much 😂
BUT, I ALSO have to go in with a hand written list and cash budget. Mostly we get coffee, eggs, some produce, and some clothes for me when in my personal budget. I am working on breaking the habit, but I get really bad cabin fever and have a hard time staying in one place for more than 30 hours 😂
Even a quick drive down the road to fill up the propane tank for my grill and outside water bath canner makes wonders for my mental health. If I'm home too long I tend to mindlessly scroll on SM and then look and things online that I DONT NEED. Lol I love this video and pray yall have a great rest of your year.
Blessings from Texas ❤
Thanks so much for sharing your finds! I love that idea of the homemade apple Christmas gifts :). Blessings!
You're welcome! I'm excited to explore more of what Azure has to offer from the very helpful suggestions that people have given!
Grocery shopping is so educational for your children as well. I love Grocery shopping because I look to only buy sales so we as senior citizens can have variety.
I agree - so good for them so have those experiences. Shopping sales is a great way to go! Thanks for watching and sharing!
All that you got at Costco you can get at Azure
I love your videos. I'm looking at ordering from Azure Standard as well, and your video showed me that it looks really doable. I loved your video where you made your chocolate milk. I think it was one of the first ones of your family's that I watched. Thanks for sharing very valuable information!
You’re so welcome. Glad this was helpful! After ordering from them and hearing all of the other suggestions of what people love from them, I’m excited for future orders! Thanks for watching!
Looks like some smart shopping.
That's so good to hear! I love how your Azure pick up is so much closer to you than any of the other stores. What a blessing that's in your community!
I so enjoyed this video!
I'm so glad! Thanks for sharing!

Which is we’re I live
We need a Costco , that would be real handy
Thanks for sharing and watching!
🙂👍Superb!🙂Stay blessed!👍Keep it up!🙂🙂👍God bless you abundantly forever 🙂🙂Enjoy amazingly blessed weekend 🙂🙂Stay happy and well protected. 🙂🙂
Hope this helps!
coconut oil - i buy @ azure - a 5 gal. bucket was less than costco
Thanks for sharing!! We made the switch too!
I get rice, toilet paper, butter & honey from Costco. I get popcorn, sugar, dry beans, flour, herbs and coconut oil from Azure.
Good to know! Thank you for sharing!!
Check out Azure's coconut oil. It is huge, and is a better price
Yes!! A few others have said this too. I'm going to order that next time! Thanks for the tip!
Thanks
You're welcome!
Azure carries redmonds salt for cheaper than the redmonds website
Thanks for sharing!! Good to know!
Every few months I order 25 lbs bags of flour and sugar from azure. It is cheaper buying 25 lbs bags than getting organic 5 lbs bags at the stores
Thanks for sharing!!
We do love those oats. Have you ever done your own rolled oats? I wish i could find organic rice at mine!
I haven't ever made my own rolled oats. I'm intrigued though! Thanks for watching!
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing. Curious…do you freeze your grains at all? I ruined a whole 25 pounds bag of oats when I didn’t freeze them before storing in the 5 gallon buckets. 😢
I didn't but I'm learning that I probably should! Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm sorry that happened - such a bummer!
Azure has the best cocoa powder and chocolate chips.
Oooh! Good to know! I'm loving the carob powder!
Wow! That's crazy to me that they wouldn't have had that much cash on hand. This gives me more motivation to keep using cash!
Who knew😲? Blessings!
Interesting! Thanks for watching!
An Azure pickup in the rain is the worst.
Definitely not ideal! Thanks for watching!
That's so funny that you mention the Fisher Nut outlet. I actually worked at the plant there for a very short time about 10 or 11 years ago!
Good to know - thank you! I'd love to find a good bulk source of maple syrup locally.
