My guess is that his party realizes that Biden can't beat Trump this time; so they are throwing him under the bus. They set him up to fail publicly and spectacularly in the debate, which they had scheduled much earlier than any other presidential debate; the first debate is usually held after the conventions, the earliest previous one having been held in September; so having the first debate this early, before the conventions, was a huge red flag. This way, there is still time to replace Biden with someone else as the Democrat Party candidate.

I went through that with my aunt when she was a few months away from the end. She kept thinking I was one of my cousins. When I gently told her who I was and who my mother was, she looked confused, not recognizing her sister's name.
Biden is gone. To use a Scrubs term, he is circling the drain.
My mother-in-law went through the same thing after my husband died, she would mistake me for her nieces, her sister, and other family members. She was always calling my son, her grandson, for one of her nephews. When she would tell others who we were, she always got it right. She lived another year and a half, but declined more.
I describe that look as far away. It's the look like a stranger gives. No warmth, no recognition, but worse. Like nobody's home in there. It makes me sad how he's being treated and used, and I'm not even a fan. But I'm human. This is very evil.

I saw signs years ago. If you've had daily/regular contact with a close family member who is slipping due to dementia, it's sadly, easily recognized. it's not hard to understand what is happening. This was evident before the last election. He has deteriorated a great deal since then. Jill and Hunter should be held accountable. Heads of departments, personnel who are in close contact had and have a duty to report if he was incapable of performing his duties as President. That hasn't happened and that should be looked into in a serious way.This isn't just sad, it's dangerous.
