That’s the only thing I’m worried about is the swim. Thank you for sharing this video. 💛 It’s refreshing to keep hearing those who didn’t know how to swim or swim well get through the swim test and graduate on time with their division! I will keep praying that I do well when I go. 🙏🏽 I go to boot camp March 2020. ☺️
No problem! I understand some people don’t know how to swim and I definitely did not, still passed on time so don’t feel discouraged or nervous they will definitely teach you and make sure you pass! Goodluck I know you’ll do great! Be sure to lmk how your experience went 💖
How did you wear your hair in boot camp ? Did you go with your natural curly fro because my hair is like that. But I think I’m going to get micro braids because I don’t want to deal with my hair. Are micro braids allowed ?
I had my hair straightened when I went and I kept it in 2 braids, it was just easier that way for me, and yes, micro braids are allowed but they’re somewhat strict about how your hair looks, as long as it’s neat they won’t make a fuss about it
Roni Arnell Thanks for taking the time to answer me. I really appreciate it. My Mom does braids so I’ll just get the micro braids and they’ll be neat for sure ! Lol I really don’t want to be dealing with my curly hair everyday. I think braids would be a lot easier for me to manage.
Roni Arnell you’re right about that. It’s best to ask someone who just recently went through basic training because half of these recruiters be out of the loop and be giving us outdated information. So that’s why I be on TH-cam asking questions lol because I need to know before I get there. 😩😂
I feel like they push you into cs and other low rates if you have a lower asvab score. It’s all depends on your scores. I’m black but got a pretty high asvab score and had lots of options for jobs, never felt pressured to pick a job so I went aircrew which is a pretty rare job to find to qualify for but I got it 👍
Ejohne Hall that’s also true but the rates you get are determined by the individual scores on your asvab, meaning whatever rate you want they take the combined score of whatever sections from your asvab fits that rate, so you could have the highest score and not get offered jobs compared to someone with a lower score, it doesn’t depend on your overall score, it’s the individual scores that make up what rate you can choose from so it depends and bootcamp is part of the journey but depending on your rate there’s A and C schools and if you fail one they make you undersigned and you won’t have a rate at all, so you have to be careful, also some rates are great choices but their quotas are terrible and if you can’t advance you’ll be stuck as an E3 or whatever unless you get mapped but again that depends on the quota of the rate, so there’s a lot of different deciding factors when it comes to getting a rate and choosing a rate.
Jacqueline Jones yes of course I’ll make a separate video on the swim portion for boot camp and I’ll go into detail about what it’s like and what you do
This brought back memories lol I used to get beat all the time because I was a section leader and our RDC’s only beat the staff not the whole division or it would be for someone else and I’d be standing right there so they’d tag me in 🤦🏾♀️ but definitely dope video keep them coming 👏🏾

Not a problem! Honestly I wish there was someone to tell me these things and answer the questions I didn’t know, I’m glad I can help 🙏🏾

They offered me BM and CS too and I scored a 55, but in the end I got IC ( interior Communication Electrician) and I leave in 25 days .
