    WOW, she's looking so much better than the first time I saw her! Little by little you are trimming her hoof back and you can see she's walking slightly better now. Keep up the good work, even with the limited resources that you have.

    I think she needs some chiropractic work done on her leg and that will help her as well because of the distortion she has had he knee and hip probably distorted as well so to help get it back without a lot of pain caused by correcting just the hoof. You might want to think on this

    For all those jumping on the owners, did any of you notice that the other feet are trimmed neatly, that there are major scars on the affected leg above the hoof, and that the frog is obviously deformed, suggestive of a major injury, which just might be why she doesn't like having this hoof trimmed? Maybe the owners simply couldn't get an experienced farrier capable of helping? Unless you know the full story, maybe don't be so quick to judge

    OK cow people (eye roll) consider how the bovines are secured for trimming. They are held in a crush or similar restraining system. Our relationship with horses is built on a certain level of trust. A horse will not trust a human after something like that. Very different.

    I hate this hoof every time I see it. That was the best trim I've seen yet on her. I'm so glad it has reached this point.
    She moves really well. You have to be looking for her limp to really see it. She's almost as impressive as y'all are.
    I'm in the Texas Hill Country. We have cloudy skies and the rain teases us periodically, the drizzle gets our hopes up. There's a hoof spray here that will soften up a rock hard hoof. It has directions for farriers to use to get immediate results. I only had to apply twice one time on a horse's hooves. My hands are shot from Rheumatoid Arthritis so I need all the help I can get when I trim my horses.
    Is there a way I can send you a bottle? It's incredible stuff and easy to apply for maintenance, especially for someone like me having difficulty using a brush to put hoof treatment on a horse. When I get to the barn, I'll edit to include the name of the stuff.
    The name of the product is Hoof Marvel. It was developed by a couple farriers.

    I don't think she's scared to lift the leg, I think it hurts her. Seeing the deformation of the leg, it's probably uncomfortable for her. Did she break her leg at some point? If you put her under and do the whole hoof at once, she might have a chance. But the longer it's left overgrown, the more damage is done to her whole body. So take real action instead of doing a half ass job and act like you're doing something really great

  • @jeanneparisot237
    @jeanneparisot237 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I know that for now she seem okay, but with a such deformation, her whole body will started to suffer from it at one point. It could only get worse and worse while she will aging. You have just delayed the inevitable. With heavy daily pain killer it could stay manageable for a couple of years, but her life quality will inevitably going done before you could give her a better normal looking hoof. 😥
    The difference between cows and horses, is that in tight places, cows end up calming down when horses only get to a frenzy panic, until they badly injured themselves. It is okay to ask questions, but even if the both of them could be as trusty and be amazing pets, they do not have the same intelligence level, the same cautious around humans, and the same way to being handle. Same as a dog and a cat. There are simply different. You sure can jump on a cow's back, but you will end up damaging her back if you try to ride her every day for hours, while a horse have been manipulated since hundreds of years ago to support a weigh on their back. If all farming animals can be amazing pets, you have to acknowledges that they have different need and different way of thinking and acting.
    Thinking that you can put a horse in a cow trimming machine is nearly as intelligent as shooting at a tornado to make it turn away, or pulling tons of water over a critically burning cathedral. 😏

    Why do people own horses when they can't take of them

    • @TerryProthero
      @TerryProthero หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't own one, because my two bedroom apartment is too small for that. But that is no more ridiculous than owning one if you can't feed them, pay vet bills, whatever. Owning an animal is a big responsibility. And people should take that responsibility seriously.
