I literally picked up a ukulele a week ago and I'm really not very good even for a beginner... But this tutorial was so clear and so helpful and this is by far the easiest one I've followed. Thank you so much for this! I was so nervous to try finger picking and you made this extremely clear even if I still suck at holding down some of the chords with my weak fingers!! ; - ;
Wow thank you so much!!! That's amazing that you are taking a shot a finger picking so soon, you will progress very quickly by pushing yourself like that!! I'm so glad I could help it really means a lot to me ❤
i’ve been messing around with the ukulele for about ten years, and while i’ve played with a couple of tabs here and there, i never really picked up the art of finger picking. i must have watched this video a couple dozen times this week - i’ve got the song pretty much memorized, and i’m building up so many calluses, and it’s been AGES since i’ve been this fulfilled by studying music. this is exactly what i needed to get myself started on this whole new dimension of this instrument i was barely aware of, during a period of time when i needed the distraction more than ever. thank you so much!!
Hi, I'm a fan of your work ❤️ I'm from Mexico, you could do a tutorial and cover the song "In dance and in dreams" is from the movie Training your dragon, thank you very much 💖
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with holding some of the strings down but while playing the D7 it always sounds off when holding all of the strings with one finger. Any help?
It could be that you're not pressing down all the way on every string. Strum one string at a time to see if it sounds clear, or muted. If they sound muted then this is the issue. Partially, this will just get better with time as you get used to engaging those tiny finger muscles and your grip strength improves. Sometimes though I do kinda cheat and use my middle finger to press down on my pointer finer haha. So the pointer finger is still the finger in contact with the strings, and my ring finger is resting on top of it, with both fingers pushing down, if that makes sense. I'm pretty sure this is ~bad technique~ but like, nothings real and I do it anyway hahaha.
I love your Everything Stays tutorial, but these tabs are so wrong. They sound good on their own, but if you play them along with the music, it sounds terribly off. 👎
