This is something I’ve noticed about Rick and Morty and why it’s so popular because it appeals to something resentful in the collective psyche. This idea of refusing to see one’s self in a bad light and the desire to rebel and be self important. Basically it appeals to its fan base because it makes everyone think they’re a Rick and the reality is everyone’s a Jerry.

@@dylancare3644 which is what’s interesting and it does ask a horse and cart question about a persons character. Does an environment influence the character or is it the other way around? But there are several vids that Wisecrack does in the exploration of those questions in relation to Rick and Morty.
If people think their Rick then theyre pretty full of themselves and are rooting for the wrong character. Lol Just like those that saw themselves as Tyler durden, the joker, etc.
Really? I feel it's the opposite. Everyone already thinks they are a Rick, they don't need the show for that.
I think they like it because it throws it in everyone's face that we aren't important, existence is meaningless; so do what you want. It quels the existential dread inside by making you laugh at it.

When I studied civil engineering we asked our math professor why are we learning about differential and integral equations, because we will never use them. Answer was to develop and improve our logical thinking and problem solving. And he was right, I'm working now in totally different field, stock control and data analysis and I realized how many times I used math to approach to the problem and find best solution.
The guy doing this video can EASILY go on Rick and Morty as Jerry's brother. His voice and speaking corks almost match Jerry perfectly

That's what we love about Rick, he's the most relatable cartoon character in entertainment... sometimes the show's other characters are. The entire show is a great commentary on literally everything while being entertaining as f^ck!

It's funny that people think the words of a drunk, vengeful sosiopath as pearls of wisdoms. Rick ripped through multiple dimensions to hunt down the Rick who killed his wife and daughter. He's using the other Rick's Morty as bait. He even let several worlds get destroyed as part of his plant to trick Morty out of his ambition to be a writer and stay with him.
People thinks he is dispensing brutal truths but in reality he's just a cranky old drunk who was robbed of the very things that he mocked(marriage, love, friendship). For all we know he could'vr hired the alien Die Hard criminals in the latest episode just so he can put tone down Morty's budding defiance a notch.

my favorite video although, is when Rick dumps unity and tries to kill himself. It's a really controversial scene. But it just hits different when he said "we're talking about an entity that thrives on enslavement. Fun's fun but who needs it?"
I think this can be viewed by so many different angles, and i search it up at least once a month. it cuts deep and always leave me thinking. so if you do a part two please include it :)
Funny thing is Unity isn't actually enslaving them. It's closer to killing them since it's really just her inhabiting their bodies. What they were before seems to be completely gone. I think that comment is (aside from being inaccurate) Rick just being flippant. Rick is depressed because Unity loves him but knows he isn't good for her (he really just uses her to fulfill his desires) and Rick at the end loses her because he's a shitty person and he knows it.

Something I so desperately want them to expand on is how morty is still 14, how they don't age. They could tie it to why rick dispises time travel so much
Rick's comments about public school shouldn't be taken at face value. He's lying to Jerry and Beth in order to get more time with (to use) Morty. Rick's goal is to make them think it's spending time with him that has made him more intelligent but it's just a temporary side effect from the Mega seeds. He's pulling a fast one on them and even says that Morty is "in reality as dumb as they come" which, in addition to Jerry's comments (that Morty may have a learning disability and will likely have to work much harder than others) on the matter makes a case that Morty shouldn't be missing any school.
I use math and algebra in my daily life. All the time. I love it. It's cool to me because math is the one subject which you can eventually figure out without memorizing some shit written by somebody else, like history or English or or or or or

Don’t forget that everything happens because ricks experiment to make the portal gun killed his wife and daughter and he is just trying to stay busy living the life he never had while staying drunk enough to numb the pain. Neither of which is really working.
that's not what happened. Morty's original rick murdered Rick's wife and daughter. After killing that Rick. Rick too his place, so Morty wouldn't turn out evil. The reason Rick hates time travel is because trying to change the past just creates a new reality based on the change. Meaning Rick can never have his wife and daughter back without screwing another Rick out of happiness.
