genius! this tutorial made me install keynote again. animations on keynote are much more polished giving it the professional look. lumafusion + keynote makes a great combo. thanks to this! i used this technique in 2 of my latest videos 😊
I was looking for a way to add text comments to my videos while editing in LumaFusion. Your video was the first in the search results and to be honest, I liked it. Simply because following your steps helped me to learn not only to add text, but also to animate it to my preferences. Both thumbs up!
I was kicking around looking for ways to do animated titles in LumaFusion, and was kind of searching for an “Aftereffects for iPad” kind of thing. I once used Keynote to do this exact sort of thing when I wanted a quick animation in FinalCut Pro. It NEVER occurred to me to do this on iPad. It’s like opening my eyes for the first time! Thank you-excellent tip!
I just dowloaded LumaFusion and your tutorials are FANTASTIC!!! You are very gifted at getting to the point with a creative twist on everything. KEEP GOING!!!!!
Thanks Cameron I really appreciate it. One day ill make some more tutorials, but right now everything I think people need to learn has been covered already!
I was just watching a video and thought, hey that text slide in on screen is so cool, I should add that to my videos its so slick. Searched and found your video and wow in a 4 minute video I’m from no idea to having an example done on my own clip. Thank you so much! I did have to pause quite a few times to keep up but I guess there’s no harm in that. Very slick!
Thank you Liam! Glad you found a use for the tutorial. I always try and make videos as short as possible so you can get a good feel for how it’s done and if you need to double take, it’s not hard to find :)
This is super helpful thank you so much. Is there a way to save an animated text that we create this way to a favorites section so it can easily be added to future videos?
As a Windows IT professional, server admin, etc... I am familiar with PowerPoint, and have been doing some title there. However, seeing this, my mind is thinking how to do this in PowerPoint to accomplish the same thing. Keynote isn’t a bad program, I use it to alpha remove backgrounds from images for my wife’s online business. Then with LumaFusion, and Davinci Resolve; my editing techniques are growing.
Thanks! This was as much an iOS Keynote tutorial as it was a LumaFusion tutorial for me. I’ve used keynote for broadcast graphics on MacOS, bit I had to stop and pause this several times during the Keynote portion to figure out what you were doing.
When Apple released their 'made on ipad' tv advert, i instantly thought that they must have used Keynote for the animations. So I tried it out, and it worked! But honestly, thank you for checking out the video. You're awesome! There's four or five other LumaFusion tutorials I've made which are worth checking out :)
GREAT video: at 2:05 you moved your Hue, Saturation and brightness to zero then toggled the "reverse Key"....what was that method, is there another video that talks about that method?
A good alternative. The problem though with this method if you have a lot of titles to make for multiple videos you will be switching back and forth between the two apps. It could be better if you have the option to just change the text within lumafusion but that one you need to create on your own as custom. Like with the defaults provided by lumafusion.
Completely agree. Until LumaFusion implements proper basic editing tools like this with ease we'll have to rely on other programs. But, a solution to ease this issue is you can always save your keynote project and adjust them one after another and re-export. Similar to how you would with an after effects title or premiere pre-saved graphics profile.
Thanks Zaquan, I really appreciate the kind words. I'd love more subscribers, but it's all about the content right now :) Hey, feel free to share the video if you'd like to help :D haha.
I know you made this 3 years ago and it's still a great tutorial! My question to you...do you keep that grip exercise tool around for when your hand falls asleep?
Hi again Chris how the key frames work? this is the only part I'm confuse.. I'm a beginner on editing. hope you could help us. if you can make a video tutorial it would be helpful for all of us who just starting of using the lumafusion app. thank you again.

I tried your method today and it was great. I only want to know the steps u used one the last one how did my animate the box and the text separately that where I was not quit sure where I went wrong...
Chris Wilmshurst the order part is where I'm getting confused, so if I'm not mistaken you could separate the box animation time with the text time. So I could get the same effect as you got in the last one u showed. Also could u make a video explaining key frame on LumaFusion ( I know u did a video on it ) but I was not able to understand how u did the key frame .
0:45 did you click on the text so the size option can come out? I’m currently stuck on that part. I want to change the font and size but it doesn’t give me an option. I was wondering what you did so I can change the size and font. Video clip was a little too fast
Great video this was so useful! Gonna do this for my future video thank you. Also good luck to everyone that is learning now and working on their youtube channel!

@@ChrisWilmshurst thanks for the speedy reply. So I had a rip on it yesterday and made a Christmas video which i uploaded. I can’t quite picture what you mean? Do you mean like a slightly transparent box going over text? You could by just applying a shape and animating it’s size across the top and changing the animation
This tutorial was awesome! Quick question. I am using the “move in” effect but when I bring it into LumaFusion it “stutters” as it moves across the screen. I assume this has something to do with frame rates but I am not sure. Any recommendations.
Hi Rob, thanks for the kind words. If you're exporting the movie from Keynote, make sure its frame rate is set to 60fps. This should take care of most stutters. if that doesn't completely fix it, try adjusting the timings of the effect.
It’s possible yes! Very much. I use keynote because it’s so much faster and it eases the transitions in, where as LumaFusion currently doesn’t support speed ramping of any kind
Thanks for the video. Interesting way you showed. Is there a reason you use keynotes as apposed to just doing those directly in LumaFusion? Just curious. I appreciate you sharing the info! Jason
Hi Jason, I use keynote as it’s a lot quicker to animate and there’s things such as easing in to make it smoother. LumaFusion is pretty bad at the moment for anything animation related, especially with limited tracks. So this is a temporary work around until things improve ;)
