I can say I am surprised game one he didn't promote and go up to gaio to kill your stack. Yes he would have given you 5 memory but would have put you on the back foot there with no body on the board. For tai, it is just for agression. 4 checks with metalgrey x if you have st greymon and 5 for gaio with metalgrey x and st greymon in the stack.
I try to always be clear on my digimons effects when played, if I forget to declare it and a scenario like the metalX dp boost happens ill let them take it back. He plays metalX too but he probably forgot in the heat of the moment + bricking. I had really bad experiences when I started out playing locals because some opponents would just straight up not announce effects (like blocker) then when I would swing unknowingly they would not care (or take advantage of it). I am of the mindset that its on you to know your deck but its on your opponent to pilot/announce his effects clearly.
He's not a new player and he's been piloting the deck for a few weeks. And that's the thing, I did declare the MetalGrey X effect. So yes, I think Tony had just forgotten. At that point, he had already declared an attack I agree with you, it sucks as a new player to go through that. You would hope your opponent doesn't take advantage. But in a tournament setting where you paid money and are playing for prizing, I wouldn't expect my opponent to remind me of everything unfortunately
@@MrJsStrategyPlays Yes, as long as you declared it then thats fine! Obviously youre not going to second guess their plays on a tournament setting when you gave out the effects already 👍

Did he have the Gaio in hand? But yes I think even without protection he could've cleared my field. P.S. I also play Tai in my BWG deck :)
He runs metalgreymonx in his own list so I think that's on him and you were right to say he already declared.
Yeah its unfortunate. Kind of like when people forget there are blockers on the field

You should 👀 haven't seen you there in a while lol
