    J. Krishnamurti & David Bohm - Brockwood Park 1972 - Dialogue - On intelligence
Q: Thought is a material process. What is the relationship between that and intelligence?
Thought is mechanical, measurable, a movement in time. Is intelligence mechanical, in time?
    Does intelligence use thought?
Thought is a pointer. Without intelligence the pointer has no value.
Politically, religiously and psychologically thought has created a world of tremendous contradiction and fragmentation.
Can life be guided by intelligence and lived in harmony?
The desire for intelligence has created the image of God.
Thought must be completely still for the awakening of intelligence. You come upon it when you see the whole.
The quality of a mind that sees the whole is not touched by thought. Therefore there is perception and insight.

Bohm is a great counterpart/interpreter for K. He is really good at framing these brilliant but loose understandings into modern and coherent “metaphysics” - that actually fits into his concept of reality (underlying structure of the universe - from the point of view of Physics)

That which is in the realm of time - thought, is trying to understand something that is totally beyond the framework of time. Almost impossible, it feels.

    • @chadjenkins4036
      @chadjenkins4036 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Not almost, it is impossible because it is not of thought.

    • @havenbastion

It's not impossible, we only have to realize that because our perception is limited does not mean it's incorrect.

Hi Adam. This is a one off dialogue, it doesn't belong to a series. 'Future of Humanity' is a two-event series taking place in 1983; you can watch it here th-cam.com/play/PL1n30s-LKus4p0NpxNLKTLExuIqPMPqDI.html

      J. Krishnamurti - Official Channel thanks that's the two first conversations in 1983, do you have access to the remaining 10?

I am afraid there is no record of 'Future of Humanity' being a 12-part series. Could it be you are thinking of the series 'Ending of Time'? ( th-cam.com/play/PL1n30s-LKus4MyNuceRoFAes5teZS_guW.html ) If you could share where you got your information from, we could investigate further.

Its facinating to listen how Khrishnamurti sounds like a little boy who is full of enthusiasm... it sounds like think he really enjoyed having these discussions with Dr. Bohm

Whereof one cannot speak, one must be silent. Wittgenstein puts it simply. The unconscious energy will arise once consciousness ceases. Understanding and insight suddenly comes to surface once the conscious is absent. That's the core of meditation, and that's how to cultivate intelligence. I think that's the bottom line of this conversation.

1:23:10 "I am listening to you (unconscious mind) not to the words which were abused but to the meaning, to the inward quality of your feeling which wants to tell me something, I think that changes me not all that verbalization"... I wonder was that a pointer towards understanding the Energy(pure consciousness)? My understanding is: I am an unconscious being and knowing thought cannot be stopped and all my realization is being filtered by thought and that is why i can nnot realize the whole(Energy) with the fragments(Thoughts). But if my mind stops, be quiet understanding the futility of understanding the Whole with the fragments then something happens. In the J.K's above metaphor I find it like the effort towards understanding the Whole, by the fragment, is the unconscious mind who is listening to only the words but when the unconscious mind stop listening to the verbalization and focus on the inward quality (silence) only then could it (Whole) be manifested...... Can you please clarify me if im getting it?!?

Concious mind is analyzing the words, just verbally. Unconscious mind sees the whole content of words, which cannot be mentioned, described. What K says is that words by themselves won't change you (as our conscious mind is a barrier), only when you are talking to that unconscious mind, this can see the real message you want to give, which he says it is love.

So in c++ thought is a pointer to intelligence. Which can be dereferenced. But if the pointer is null it return a nullptr exception, and that is the cause of the suffering in the world
