I worked this game for ABC as an A2. We got to Reser at 5:30 am for a 6 am call, and there were dead ducks strung up across the road on the telephone and power lines leading into the stadium. I live in Eugene, and about 9 pm that night, I was back home and walking with my wife past Mac Arthur Court when we saw Joey Harrington, on crutches, crying his eyes out. He threw six interceptions that day.
Oregon St was loaded that year absolutely hammered Notre Dame 41-9 in the Fiesta Bowl. VT should of been in the Fiesta Bowl that year would of been a better game vs Oregon st
This Beavers team deserved the National title bid. They would have won it. They were NFL talent at all 3 phases of the game. Ducks should have played the U in the Natty the next year as well
