The new owners should let Thomas Tuchel dictate signings that he feels will complete his puzzle. Chelsea is not far from matching the level of competition that has been reached by Liverpool and Manchester City but getting there will depend on the signings to be made. The number of finals that they have played since the arrival of Tuchel prove that he's a great coach.

Roman did a good job at Chelsea. But the circumstances due to the political ties with Putin have caused things to end in an undesired manner. It was a good era.
Just remember half the uk government had ties to Jimmy saville. Guilty by association cant be used against our own politicians though, its contradictory of law for everyone aside from roman.

I know it's a game but everytime i manage Chelsea in a football manager game. I never buy players for the earlier seasons because their loan players are actually amazing. Gallagher and Gilmour should really be given chances. And also develop colwil. Amazing talents already at the club.

The new owners should fire the people doing the scouting and Marina before putting out a cent. We don't have a DOF and Marina never wanted one. She doesn't have a football brain. We've been having terrible transfers for the last 5 years. There'll be more blunders in this window unless she listens to the manager, which she doesn't do.

Been a Chelsea fan long enough to know that our biggest problem under Abramovich was mental strength. We need it more than anything, we lost important games while having the best squad to our opponents.

Teams with big projects for future new castle man united chelsea arsenal plus already well established teams man city and Liverpool. Don’t forget about Tottenham who fill fight at least top 6 or top 4. Plus other mid fields trying to build strong teams to get a Europe league football. I think premier league will keep dominating for the next 8 to 8 years.

first: renew Mount, R.James, and Kante contract.
second: sell or loan the player that is not in tuchel plan next season ( Lukaku / Barkley / Ziyech / Kenedy )
then: buy 1 striker ( swap Lukaku with L.Martinez / Lewon from Bayern),
1 or 2 mid (D. Rice is too expensive, and not sure Westham wants to let go / maybe Chelsea can hijack Gavi from Barcelona before Liverpool buy him or Frankie de jong ),
4 defend ( Marcelo can be an option for backup Chilwell and it is free, Achraf Hakimi and Kimpembe from PSG, and Kounde )
lastly: give a chance to Conor Gallagher to play in the first team.

The management have to decisive and quick in the transfer market. There is no time ahead of the new season, so many key players are leaving the club, many challenges are awaiting next season. The issues of loan players is there as well. Hopefully, we overcome this challenges and get some good players in the summer.
What about the likes of RLC, Ziyech, Kenedy and Chelsea loanees outside of the Premier league this season. Are there plans for these players next season or will Chelsea be cashing in on them all ?

Fab obviously the league models are not the same but you can look back to when Boehly/Walter bought the Dodgers for clues as to how this rebuild will go. The Dodgers were a good but a team with a bloated payroll that just threw money around they won and were always good but never broke through, Ambrovich was a terrific owner in that he spared no expense but that wasn't always good for the squad.
Boehly(owners) immediately assesed the team in the context of how they wanted to play and moved players that didn't fit and brought in players that did(via trades, free agency, draft). They let the current management, think Marina/Buck stay for a bit, used their scouting prowess to identify talent with which to fill their minor league teams through the draft(they will do this through the academy) But they also brought in a President of Operations(Stan Kasten) to oversee them while also refurbishing Dodgers Stadium and building community/supporter relationships.
They commited long term to their best homegrown players(think Mount/Reece etc). Once they had transitioned they brought in a new management team, they spent wisely, still bringing in top players but they were no longer setting the market for them by overspending. They also, and this is more important for me, had hired Andrew Friedman who had run a small market team(Tampa Bay Rays) incredibly, always hitting with young players and finding the inefficiencies in the market, guys that could do exactly what was needed by the team on the field that came as an incredible bargain(Kante/Drogba etc) players that were older that were under appreciated by their current club, younger players with unexploited talents that hadn't been coached well or were being incorrectly utilized(Max Muncy, Justin Turner on the baseball side).
The Dodgers have had stability in terms of the manager/coach as well, they kept the manager they had when they bought them for a couple years but parted ways when their visions clashed (also the results weren't good enough)and brought in a new guy and have stayed with him through some tough playoff losses(they ended up winning together). Expect stability in on and off field management and expect whomever coaches to be in lock step with the football people(Boehly will trust them) or be gone. For me I think(and they likely realize), that they have good one that *could be* a very long term solution and the manager musical chairs a whimsical thing of the past.

Right, Chelsea have spent a lot! I think Conte, Sarri, Lampard and Tuchel were all very different, so we now have many incompatible players. Also, most of our signings have underperformed.

Not connected to the topic, but to the video edit. Am I the only one that skips the first around 1 minute of each video? First is the "trailer"(?) and after introduction to the topic and then intro. I skip always to after intro as that's where the topic starts. I don't find it relevant to see short trailer of what will be in the 4 minute video literally before watching it. I find it pointless and it would be better if the video started straight to the point followed only by intro.

For me, this year and in the year ahead midfield is a major concern. The Saul experiment didn't work. I'm excited for Gallagher to return but I feel like we need Declan Rice or another impact mid.
