Dude it's so crazy how awesome and talented and technical these guys are and most people haven't heard of them. as a child I would go through my dad's vinyls and listening to everything that I could so once I got on TH-cam I used it to it's fullest extent.I found these guys a band called animals as Leaders blotted science pomegranate tigers scale the summit and so many other amazing bands that I'm amazed are so underground that they haven't broken through. But the demographic for the genre is quite small.
This guys remain underground because big companies are not investing on them as they are doing with mainstream musicians that we see/hear even in the morning cereal.

I got the Conquering Dystopia tab book and a huge chunk of it was wrong: either the notes were played in different positions (Kufra at Dusk main riff) or certain fast sections of the solos were just completely off (first solo for Autarch). It's a great 'guide', no doubt, but I've learnt to just trust my ears for accurate transcribing.
Steve Vai said basically the same thing himself 😂... But wait till you hear Aaron Marshall of Intervals (a good friend of Plini) and Tosin Abasi of Animals As Leaders... Both absolutely insane. I'd recommend I'm Awake by Intervals and Tempting Time or The Glass Bridge by Animals As Leaders.

As a matter of fact, yes I can. My problem is lack of confidence, age, and my creativity level peaked 15 years ago. Technical isn't an issue for many people, it's the songwriting and creativity that rounds out the whole

It would probably go like the time we saw John Mayer and Clapton play together. It could be argued Clapton was more of an influence on Mayer than Gilmour on Plini though.

Lol this type of guitar playing might have gotten you burned at the stake back in David Gilmour's time with Pink Floyd. Reminds me of the scene from Back to the Future where McFly plays Johny B. Unless they update their Fx section the Helix is still the better all round modeler for most of, if not all the gigging musicians. The neural capture looks promising though and I actually like it better than the Kemper Profiler.

4:00 GUITARISTS out there! What the heck is the fingering for this! I slowed it down to 0.25 speed and his fingers aren’t matching up with the recording. The notes are a slide up to G# then descend D# C# G# F# C#.. I know the fret positions but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the correct fingering!! Can somebody help? I can play that beautiful run just before this but can’t figure out how to play this 🥵🥵🥵
@@geordihills original Drop A? I thought it would be F# because it would make sense the 6 strings are in his 'standard tuning' drop c#, but yeah i don't know. I learned how to play the riff on a 8 string in drop D, it seemed the original tuning was F#

He is using a 7 string for the rhythm guitar, so I think its low enough. Sounds like its around Ab to me, as Plini love's Eb and drop C# tuning which works well with Drop Ab on a 7 string. Might be wrong though.
