Part of what hurt WCW (as much as their 2000/01 Booking) with the Time/AOL Merger is that their 'Bank Ledger' was such a cluster it'd Give Mike Rotunda an ulcer... (and he's a pretend accountant) they were paying the big guns out of Time's Budget instead of the WCW Coffers (part of how they could afford those big checks) at one point all PPV Buys were shifted into the books of 'Warner Home Video' so to an outside eye the only income for the PPV was the gate receipts (made especially bad with the Road/Hog Wild shows in Sturgis, that didn't actually have a gate) add in all the 'Open air specials' for Nitro where they had the expense of the venue but no income from ticket sales, or the Creative Control Clauses that allowed the 'Major Players' to skip as many or more Thunders than not, so they were abusing the hell out of 'Card subject to change"

It's not, actually, the original WCW championship was retired in 2001, when it merged with WWE title. The World Heavyweight Championship, is a belt specially made by the WWE (it even has a WWE logo on it), and that's the one that's being tagged in the video.

One thing that the WWE '12 invasion did better than the real life invasion angle was that there was no 50/50 booking the entire story time. To make it work, the WCW guys should have won most, if not all, of there matches against the WWE guys.

We did get one in WWE2K19 cause in the MyCareer mode there is a storyline where the MyPlayer character Buzz and his at the time his NPC ally Cole Quinn force Triple H to give them WWE contracts by successfully invading NXT and pretty much beating the crap out of the NXT roster. I hope WWE2K20's MyCareer mode gives us some interesting invasion storylines.
Funny enough the invasion didn’t happened in the games till wwe 12. We never really got an explanation of how Ric got 50% ownership in shut your mouth(at least I don’t remember there being one). If Shawn’s RTWM is right then the svr games and Smackdown games from PS1 and 2 are in the same universe yet the invasion never happened or an explanation on how the titles were unified in shut your mouth or how they were separated in HCTP. Maybe Vince separated the titles after shut your mouth? Anyway, it looks like in WWE games at least in story, the invasion didn’t happen till 2012 and I gotta say it did pretty amazing at it! No Shane, no Stephanie, Vince just makes one appearance in the end of the hero story and it’s Kevin Nash who’s leading the invasion. Say what you want about WWE but gotta admit that at times they learn from their mistakes.
