    Great to see people simplifying concepts. As you have rightly observed, majority of the people start using jargon in a bid to impress and end up confusing the newbie, rather than to make the concept simpler and easier to understand, using common everyday examples. Good work.

    it looks to me that this explanation is valid also for an API, a library, a class, a function... even a program... "code written by someone else, and you can use that code in your application".
    Why API is different of the other stuff!

    Some people may criticise the way you express yourself ... this is interesting and I am surprised a programmer would reveal this to the public since programs are also languages or data that contain all sorts of codes and idiosyncrasies (please correct me if I am wrong) ... I am not a programmer but have always tried to understand how differently people express themselves due to dialect differences and the way different languages are organized and put together which also reflects the way a person thinks (of course) ... for instance, ' If you offer an English speaking person the option of having a cup of tea or not, this person may say " yes thank you" and you can assume that the answer is yes ... but if you ask German person the same question ... that person could answer by just saying "Thank you" ... and here is the difference ... in this case the answer means "no thanks" ... tricky thing "Language" but fascinating.
    As far as your spoken language is ... I find it very well spoken. So .. don't give this comment another thought.

    Hi Hitesh, Thanks for the video on API... It certainly clears air about the hype. ... I have a request. -- Would it be possible for you to chart out a "learning path" for a Non-IT person trying to switch over to IT field and exploring options of entering Software testing (Manual+ Automation profession). The video should ideally chart out steps, assuming the non-it experienced person knows nothing other that working computers (MS office) and common internet browsing , downloads etc. Many a times, people want to enter a profession, but miss out on various steps and understanding about different jargons, tools etc, and trainers assume that, the learners knows about IT and that's why he/she has chosen IT field. Any help on this front , a step learning path would greatly helpful.!! Thanks a million.

    Hi Hitesh, Thanks for this video.
    I am an experienced network engineer and looking forward to learn the network programmability (like python,ansible) so for that API is required to understand.
    Could you please highlight or probably make video for the API used for networking? I knew few like json, xml, jsonrpc, restapi....but dont know exact detailed functionality of those.
    I guess hardly any network field guys watching your videos but i like the way you are sharing.
    Thanks for your knowledge sharing.

    Hello Hitesh, What is the difference between Web Services and Web APIs ?

    • @ArunraajSingh
      @ArunraajSingh 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      RESTful is API, while SOAP isn't.

    • @ijazkhan3335
      @ijazkhan3335 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Restful is a sort of adjective that describes the kind of your api. A restful api is one that every platform can make use of..

      मराठी कट्टा !! Bro first make documentation, a scratch of what you want to do with your application.
      Learn data structures and try to implement it with standard library.
      Make classes, methods in step by step.
      Break your work in chunks of small problem.

      what u learnt are indeed the basics of making a big software. Those are like pieces in a jigsaw puzzle, bring all the pieces together and use them in the right place and you have a Software application in front of you,

      If you want to make software use vb.net or c# esly doing it just some drag and drop features like create first frame put buttons,progressbar,drop down menu any kind of you can do it by vb.net simple droping and c,c++ is oldest method of creating and software but now on it days in medical system using c,c++ small application like finding an medicine,adding an medician,storing new antries of medicine etc
