Been on a huge old school music binge on youtube lately...depressed there is barely and good music these days. So many great songs from this era and before...
+KANE HELLZ And in 2001 we were doing the same thing. The cream always rises to the top over time. A survivorship bias type of thing -- there was a lot of bad music back in 2001 and 1994 too, we've just forgotten about it.

I miss hearing songs like this. About getting hype for no reason without hearing "money, hoes, drugs" every 5 seconds. And i definitely miss the amazing sounds rap had back then.
+Anthony Shinard I used to like the songs that would come out reppin a specific area and had the whole country wanting to be from that place. Three 6 Mafia with "Stay Fly", TRU/No Limit - "Where U From", "2Pac & Dre - California Love", Busta RHymes - "New York Shit", etc
Fa real...I turn 30 next month. I miss the old days. Spring break at South Padre Island with snoop dogg and girls gone wild. The good old days when bitches would take their tops off for beads and a shirt...now you’ll get your ass sued and thrown in jail. Fuck the metoo movement.
I'm not really a hip hop fan, also I don't even live in America, I'm from Australia. In 2003, my best friend who's heavily into hip hop played me the Diary Of A Sinner First Entry album and this song stood out for me after I heard it a few times and I quickly grew to really like this song a great deal, I heard the album more times in 2004 and started to really like it. Last night my mother was talking about a plane trip she went on from Washington to North Carolina once when she was visiting the USA, immediately the chorus to this song started going around in my head like crazy. I love this song.
***** I've not had any real experiences with African American people to speak of, but I don't agree with your comment. There are good and bad people in every walk of life, in every country, in every race and of every faith and religion, so making a blanket statement like that isn't really fair.
If you love this song, I guarantee there's a great amount of hip-hop that you would dig! This type of rap is pretty dated, but it's fun to look back at. A lot old school you would dig, and even new stuff

Still a banga in 2019. This song made me wish i was from the South. Period. NY here.👋✌
ArtsyReb3l Imani from Chicago and I agree
Targon of Assad best comment i saw regarding this song was “ back in 2001 everyone was from NC” i died
It’s great down here
NC here ☺
ArtsyReb3l Imani growing up in VA was amazing. We were poor as hell but made money, breakdancing on cardboard, in front of a drug store. We had nothing, except each other...and music. 🤟🏼🙏🏻✌🏼❤️🎼
Damn. I know I was so young to not appreciate this. But geeeez this beat is cold. How did I miss the fact that Timbaland laid down the skills on this one?! Has his signature drum patterns all over this. Love Mr. Mosley and his genius.
Representing NC at the DNC in 2024!! ❤❤
Play this at ANY party in NC. You wont be sorry.
LEROY we play this in Cali and it be Lit Lol
LEROY North Carolina
As a resident of Fayetteville, I can concur lmao

Me too, this shit slaps
Yep, this was a hell of a introduction for Petey Pablo
Been on a huge old school music binge on youtube lately...depressed there is barely and good music these days. So many great songs from this era and before...
KANE HELLZ Its nostalgia. Its a real bitch.
+KANE HELLZ And in 2001 we were doing the same thing. The cream always rises to the top over time. A survivorship bias type of thing -- there was a lot of bad music back in 2001 and 1994 too, we've just forgotten about it.
there is good music you just have to find it
+KANE HELLZ agreed Use to binge listen to my Petey Pablo Album...Love it.
KANE HELLZ it's good music in every era. Funny thing is that this was once considered garbage hip hop.
Back when we just repped our city and had fun. Now everybody on lean, drugs and wanna be a killer. Smh

Time when hard core Rappers had clean cut videos that had meaning but the joint was still hard...And gritty
Iiiiiii don't know about clean cut. Whole lot bombs dropping. I guess the video was clean until that one broad took her shirt off.
Man I was in like 4th grade...probably 8 years old when this came out. I'm pushing 31 now and still love it
You and me both homie! Used to watch this video on MTV in the morning before school
I’m from Pakistan 🇵🇰, bought his 💿 during college life in Topeka , Kansas ,can’t believe how time flies 😭
I can’t think of a better time for this song! 🎶 WNC gotta raise up!
Wtf i‘m old i here this stuff when i was 13😊now i‘m 31 😱
Shoot I’m 30 and this brings back memories.
I'm there with ya. I'm 30
We got the good music growing up
Fa real...I turn 30 next month. I miss the old days. Spring break at South Padre Island with snoop dogg and girls gone wild. The good old days when bitches would take their tops off for beads and a shirt...now you’ll get your ass sued and thrown in jail. Fuck the metoo movement.
AnnY Ann yes they played this at our middle school dance lol
This song wuz a monster when it came out & it's still a banger.. DC went krazy cuz errybody up here got folks in NC
When Petey hit the "who am iiiiiii..." part and he fell back and his boys caught him and pushed him back up, you knew it was on, lol!

LOOOL I'm fuckin dead
zach// me too!
I love this song.
that's an awesome story mate!
***** nice try
***** I've not had any real experiences with African American people to speak of, but I don't agree with your comment. There are good and bad people in every walk of life, in every country, in every race and of every faith and religion, so making a blanket statement like that isn't really fair.
This one's for North Carolina, come on and raise up, this one's for you, this one's for who, us, us, us, yes sir.
If you love this song, I guarantee there's a great amount of hip-hop that you would dig! This type of rap is pretty dated, but it's fun to look back at. A lot old school you would dig, and even new stuff
I should be in my truck rn but I am. I was born in 2000. It’s November 2024 20th! First time ever hearing this song…. 🤯 I didn’t we had our own song that’s lit
Who else just randomly Decided to listen to this song
😂😂 my bro just flew there to visit friends...I had to play it
