5 years ago TH-cam randomly led me to Blue Record, I started listening to it while I was playing vidya and after a few minutes I realised my background music had changed and I was liking it a lot. I finished my game, closed the game and sat there, just listening to the album. When it ended I listened to Red, then I listened to Yellow & Green. It's all I listened to for maybe a week or two. Then I went to a party at a friend's place and put on some Baroness. Fast forward 2 years later and we're all on the first row at a Baroness gig, having the time of our lives, fucking up our voices singing along. These guys got me through some shit but most importantly they are the soundtrack to a lot of great memories over the last years.
Baroness is, by far, my favorite band of the last 25 years. The band's growth and evolution from their first album to their latest, Stone, has been nothing short of awesome. Thank you for the incredible music, and here's to many more years of it! 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Johns writing got me through a lot of shit and it still gets me through shit. I hope I never get to forget the feeling of listening to Baroness for the first time. Truly heartfelt and inspired man
This dude is a genius it's awesome that Baroness took off and so has his artwork. I have a persephone print above my desk and I look at it every day, and a stack of Baroness records in my collection behind me. It's not just music or art for its own sake, it's for the soul
As many people here, I'm SO DEPPLY THANKFUL for Baroness, they help me go trough a lot of shit in my life. I got into them with Cavite like 5 years ago thanks to a facebook metal page, I got hooked by the minute and next thing i was listening to all their music, and 2 day later I was buying Red and Blue, showing them to all of my friends, because they were so great, and a year later they came to Mexico and it was it, they are so passionate live, you can't beleive it. Keep going John! You are an amazing guy!
I had the pleasure of meeting John a few years ago. He's an amazing person and I hope he continues writing music for as long as he can. The last 2 records have been very important in my life and helped me get through deaths and heartbreak.
Oh, I know he has serious dickishness within the process of his work, but the guy is genuinely appreciative of personal contact with his fans in my experiences. Kinda common for people in his shoes.
+Will Castillo I met him once and can tell you he s not that what you said. I was even more impress that the guy finish his concert last year in Paris and 10 minutes later was in the crowd talking with his fans. You could tell that he was really enjoying that. People have very good reasons to like him.
