5 mins in and I am laughing out loud... Brilliant
You're very funny! Also I thought front line made flea products? Surprised you missed that one.
Stupidiest comment ever
EV sales down , data centre construction up , 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Just picked up an XC90 for £450. Broken rear shock mount and limp mode problems..... limp mode sorted, and complete rear suspension repaired, sand blasted, and painted..... hope this will be my No. 1 car for a while. 😊
Does it have the nice Yamaha designed V6 ?
Giving us a EV for free wouldnt be incentive enough imho.
I worked at a tow bar fitting shop and the head salesman from ford came in to have a bar fitted to the electric mustang, I asked him wtf were ford thinking🤦🏻♂️I had to go and wash my eyes 👀 out with petrol, it was less painful than looking at the mustang
really does make you ask the question "who is funding autocar"!!!
Some people who fund the government MSM and the boats

Who is funding Geoff?
I'm 47yrs old. $73,000 biweekly and I'm retired, this video have inspired me greatly in many ways that I remember my past of how I struggled with many things in life to be where I am today!!!!❤️
I'm highly inspired.
Please spill some sugar about the bi-weekly stuff you mentioned.
All thanks to Christina Ann Tucker
After I raised up to 325k trading with her I bought a new House and a car here in the states 🇺🇸🇺🇸 also paid for my daughter's surgery (Joey). Glory to God.shalom.
Absolutely! I've heard stories of people who started with little to no knowledge but made it out victoriously thanks to Christina Ann Tucker.
Wow 😱 I know her too
Miss Christina Ann Tucker is a remarkable individual whom has brought immense positivity and inspiration into my life.
When I was but a young boy I yearned for a MGB but could not afford it, then I got older and yearned for a MX5 but could still not afford it - now I can afford it I could not get In/Out of it 😎😎🤣🤣
Fat and old 😂 I have one 63 years old it's done 93,000 kms and my knees in 😂😂😂😂,in mint condition 😂😂not like me, red is the colour, like my nose 😂I like a wee drink now and then😂😂🍺every day ,from a functioning alcohol ,we only live once, and addendum starmer is the WURST thing that happened to the uk since Blair, he is a total sausage ,a large porky pie.
I had an MGB Roadster in the early 1980's, performance was "disappointing", it was changed for an Alfasud Ti 1.2. The Alfasud was quicker in a straight line, better handling, better fuel consumption and it had 4 seats. Like you I need a vehicle I can step up in to and step down to get out.

U think u have a problem ..
Ive got a Lotus Exige , many vids of people getting in and out .....
Very funny vids at that

I guess then the car companies will go bust and the nation will keep their old cars until they fall in bits, then just give up. The youngest would rather play in their parents basement until the parents die.
They don't seem to have any interest in owning a car.
People will 3d print their own, ha ha.
The UK will look just like Havana in Cuba did with their innovative approach to keeping their old US cars going
Neighbour was worried about his 30 something son drifting around the U.S and asked him .didn't he plan a career? Son replied 'don't be so old fashioned, everyone relies on inherited wealth these days'. Why work when you can just wait for the 'rents to die?
They will regret this, when they realise what they had and never knew that they needed it, it will be too late

From about 1989/1990 I was about 12/13 I started buying Autocar magazines I continued buying them very regularly until about 7 or 8 years ago, I stopped buying them because of how the car industry has changed, people's demand for hideous crossover SUV'S, stupid electric cars being rammed down our throats, idiots in Government's that know nothing about cars trying to direct what people buy and drive, very occasionally there maybe a road test I'm interested in, so I'll buy the mag, but very rarely now, it's sad and depressing for me as a car lover because there's hardly anything to get interested in
EV and SUV... I have zero interest that borders on hate for both of them. 😂
Similar story, only this time with Auto Express. Shame really as it was a decent mag’.
Yep it's very sad journalism has gone to the pack they have no idea of real life commute, give them a real car key and l bet they wouldn't know where to stick it..
Technology demands on automotive manufacturers by customers is like getting tech advice from grandma LoL
The SUV, crossover trend is hideous
Everything enjoyable in life is under attack, usually under the premise that it does, or might, harm someone somewhere.
Looking at the photo of the Renault 5s, I'm reminded of Father Ted:
"These are small, but those are far away... Small, far away."
Parent's evening? Don't forget your rainbow T shirt mate.
You need to do a send up of Quentin Weasel on classic cars…!
Lol😊😊
LOL Quentin Weasel, love it. I did respect him once and he has the cheek to call himself a classic car lover. 😏
Possibly wait and see what wooden top does in the budget before you buy your comfy woolly 4x4
I'll be keeping my Fabia until one of us dies.
Those Ford prices are insane. £75k good gracious.
I'm struggling to imagine how that board meeting at Stellantis went. “You know what this company is desperately short of, gentlemen? Brands!”
Oh Geoff, need a quiet place to study there's this bloke called Lord Ali he'll sort you out
Yep but keep ya back to the wall when you spot him/her/lgbtq+++

Had my almost ideal cars for about the last 10 years. First a petrol Honda CRV Mk2 (doing lots of short journeys) and then my first choice a diesel mk2 Honda CRV. Used to get 45 MPG on local journeys and 58 MPG on rural roads on long journeys. I would have kept that vehicle forever but the government and local authorities said different. Excessive tax and ULEZ zones caused problems. Now run a 6 year old Hyundai IX20. Much lower road fund licence (if only it was used on the roads) and 45+ mpg on petrol and ULEZ 6. Not my ideal vehicle but needs must as a pensioner. Also doing more short journeys, not good for diesel.
If only politicians had a brain, but miracles don't happen.
Anyone else think Citroëns new logo looks like an Easter Egg?

I’ll only be able to cycle for a few minutes before “where are your papers !!”
And then they came for me 👍🏻
See you in the gulag 👍
Well Geoff, what I can deduct from this video is that Ford have lost their way and really there's nothing they've got on offer is worth buying unless you buy a Focus ST or a Mustang. Get a grip Ford!!
I had a Fiesta Zetec S and it was definitely one of those cars you simply couldn’t drive slowly. Every time I parked it you could hear the engine ticking merrily in appreciation of how I’d just driven it.
The last Fiesta ST is like that. I know it's cursed with many modern day afflictions, but that aside, it's the best car I've driven. Of course, it had to be killed off.
I had the predecessor, the mk3 Fiesta 1.6GT as my first car and I agree completely. Very dangerous as a first car. But to say it's better than a modern hot hatch like a GR Yaris is ridiculous. If I'd get in one now, I'd probably be surprised by how slow it is compared to my Lexus.
Merc SEL(500 on a C plate, 179,000 miles). Without a doubt the most comfortable car I've had the pleasure of driving. Short version: 12 hours continuous driving (French N roads, no pèarges,) with only 2 stops for fuel (just over 800 miles driven) all shops in tobacco road (Belgium) closed so parked and slept for about 4 hours until they opened before getting out of the seat feeling as fresh as a spring chicken!!!
I have many happy memories and affection for all the cars that have been through my ownership but the SEL gave me a luxurious road trip that rates it No.1 for comfort.
My sub-£5000k comfortable winter car this year is an X300 Sovereign 3.2. Last year's was a Rover 75 estate. Both comfy for long journeys. The Jag is just starting to use it's heater on my ownership for the first time. It's also in the cheaper tax bracket (20th century engine-sized bracket, not 21st century emission-based bracket).
They could sell evs for £5.00 and i still wouldn't buy any of that electric crap.😂
I would, just to sell off the copper and the battery and make a profit.
Yep
That's a bit extortionate for an EV Robbie. I'd lower your expectations a little. Free is about all they're worth, and even that's expensive for what they are.
@@jamescollins3647 Think they are still building the battery recycling plant for UK.
I would buy up all Ev's I could get for 5 pounds.
Heard a BMW salesman today telling a customer looking for a new car, he has been told sales of new petrol and diesel has been extended back to 2035, and will probably be extended further? Fact or BS??

When I had money back in the late 90's Early 2000's I bought Myself a 2 door Escort GTi, and I paid the deposit for my Dad's Mk4 Zetec S & Mk5 Zetec S. Bloody Fun Cars!!!!!! I have the Best Dad "IN THE WORLD!!!!!"

XC70 Geoff. Comfiest seats ever and great sound system.
As an ex-valet driver, I can testify. For your average modern garbage. If you include unusual classics, a 1980 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham is similar. I'm yet to try a '78 Lincoln Continental but they look like they would be at least as comfy.
Nice one, Geoff, had me laughing. Made my day, thank you.
Isuzu Trooper, Mitsubishi Shogun, Nissan Patrol any of them should be good for under £5k
Suzuki grand vitara as a often overlooked option.
@modarkthemauler nice option, a bit smaller though, that size of 4x4 2 other options would be Honda CRV or Toyota Rav 4
@@tug1345 But you don't get the offroad performance from the CRV or Rav 4. I'm specifically talking about the 1999- 2005 grand vitaras. The manuals had the same Aisin transfer case as a hilux of the time.
@modarkthemauler I never thought of a Grand Vitara as being that good off road, maybe I'm wrong, what are they like on motorways
@@tug1345 My 2003 v6 xl-7 is pretty comfortable and quiet. But the diesel engined ones are unreliable and have dpf issues. Also, even though the xl-7 seats 7 it's about as big as a 1999 volvo v70 so driving around in the city is also a non issue.
I've done that with the Ford website many times. It's utterly depressing - and why do they hide their halo cars right down at the bottom as though they're ashamed of them? Have you noticed how little publicity there's been about the 2024 Mustang, compared to the old?
When I look at the 70s range, there's not one model that I wouldn't own - compared to now, there is just about 1 model.
Interesting timeline from Skoda. 21 hours ago they announce their new small electric SUV. 2 hours later they announce it's delayed due to lack of demand 😁
False Check out Elroq and cry at your patheitc polluter car by comparison
It's the same with most legacy auto EVs they are not competitive because they don't have the modern manufacturing processes to lower cost of production nor the digital smarts to build a software defined car. Tesla and Chinese lead the Gartner automotive index.
The Fully Charged Show and the likes always give figure as a percentage ie EV sales up 50% and ICE have only increased by 10%; so ICE are on a decline and EV sales are flying off the forecourts etc and that’s what it looks like…..
If someone says they sold 1 more item this year to last and someone else said they sold 100,000 more items than last year…..everyone would say the first person was doing crap compared to the second….
However if you sold 2 items last year and 3 this year (so 1 item) is a 50% increase and if someone sold 1 million items last year and 1.1 million this year (so 100,000 items) that’s a 10% increase……
If anyone quotes anything as a Percentage they are trying to hide the actual figures…..and it’s just Bullshit.
I reckon Llewellyn spent so long playing an electric powered android, he has convinced himself everything should be likewise. Or is it just for the camera ( and benefactors ) and owns a V8 Range Rover ?
So, do you deny that ICE sales are going down and EV sales going up?
@@jsanders100 - I don’t know, you listen to one group and EV sales are booming, but you listen to the other side and EV sales are tanking……but when one is reporting in percentages it’s very hard to get the true picture since percentages can hide so much information. If everyone read and reported from the same sheet then the truth would be easier to see.
Personally I don’t know anyone with an EV, I live in a fairly well off area and there is the odd Tesla in the villages; due to the cost of the houses in the village I’d expect a lot more (most properties in the village have driveway) however we are in the countryside and I don’t know of any chargers in the village or local so that could be some reasons.
Personally I wouldn’t have an EV, since currently they aren’t right for my needs; but I’m not against them, for some I could see them making sense.
I don’t think you need to research that hard to see that overall car sales are down and EV sales continue, particularly in china. So EV sales therefore MUST be growing in number.
Maybe Polestar were solving the issue of having no rear window wiper? Logically, remove the window rather than adding a wiper!...🤔
Just checked the CCA sale. The well off ain't bothered and are happy to compete for toys. The rest of us are still buying but are looking for bargains.
The used car dealership in our little town has sold every used car in the last 6 weeks. Over a hundred of them some of them big v6 petrols.
Best car for the snow I had was Early Toyota RAV4 - around 2005 vintage. Also Skoda Yeti 4x4 is hard to beat - a brilliant car all round and also great in the snow - I think it is the compact dimensions, 4 wheel drive and relatively narrow tyres that make them feel very secure in snow. I now have an X5 which is a great car but I haven’t driven it in the snow yet - I am not expecting it to be as confidence inspiring though due to sheer bulk and wide tyres. You literally can’t beat a Yeti for practicality and value for money in my opinion - I think that could be a Geoff car - if you can run to the L&K 170bhp diesel with panoramic sunroof you would be laughing!
XC70 is my vote, just classy and capable.
Hired a car this weekend with so many blind spots that you had to drive with cameras and radar. Soon there will be no windows.
That Yamaha engine might be a speedboat engine
I bloody love the Fiesta Mk5 Zetec S. I had one in imperial blue. Such a hoot to drive. I now own a 2001 Puma which is even more fun
Never had a puma, but when we were younger (much younger) I had a Saxo VTR and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread…. Until I drove a Zetec S.
Geoff this is 1 of your best, bloody brilliant mate 😂😂😂, you always bring a smile.
Thank you and keep up the good work
The NZ govt removed discounts on EVs at the end of 2023, predictably sales are down, and car dealers are advertising greatly reduced prices and the ‘opportunity to get a bargain’!
An E-Rifter sounds like the sort of fart you'd do in a lift.
"Sorry but I've just let an E-rifter out, hold your breath"
Modern hot hatches are to expensive & fast! I had a manual M140i but sold it as too fast to have fun in without breaking the speed limit. Now have daily Corolla 2.0 touring sport & a mk3 MR2 and this fabulous fun, much more like older hot hatches I used to own.
The outgoing suzuki swift sport was the ideal hot hatchback, i doubt they'll be making another one probably the last of its kind
@@YegoYTP when we replaced my wife’s car we bought a cracking little sporty hatchback, Kia Picanto GT-Line. 1.0 3 cylinder turbo charged with manual gears. Great fun car to drive like early hot hatches were. Kia have dropped this model from the range, shame as like the Swift it was a great fun car.
It’s a no brainer Geoff it’s got to be an XC70, I had one for a couple of years. Awesome car,I sold it and have regretted it since.
Definately need an XC70.
15k for a used Tesla with the performance of a Porsche and tiny service costs charged by my solar panels, what a time to be alive
My favourite hot wheels on your shelf is the yellow civic ek9.
I have no interest in a ludicrous EV milk float, or yet another, boring SUV.
Christ! You’re sounding like my mum “A pound for a cup of tea??? A pound???”
My Toyota Celica vvti was a yami engine. Shame I wrote it off, but that's a story for another day 😂
Ford and Yamaha had a thing going on too with the 1.7 Puma back in the day if i recall
The head of Ford has offered Two tier Free gear Kier some nice suits & specs and a new Capri. 😂
What we are starting to see today is eerily similar to the Malaise era we saw in the states some 50 years ago. Plagued by an oil crisis, mismanagement, and new government mandates we had years of mostly uninspiring, underwhelming, unreliable, gimmicky, and generally disposable cars that nobody wanted.
Skoda Yeti 4x4 as winter car
Suggest a Freelander 2 SE Tech 2.2 TD4 for winter. Bought one from LR 7 years ago to replace my old Freelander TD4. It’s a great car to drive on & off road, yes I do take it off road. Nice interior, heated seats & it looks smart when clean too. Push the boat out Geoff & get a higher spec HSE.
Fuel getting cheaper and cheaper.Whats the catch? are they watering it down lol.
They've got all that ethanol to shift. Wouldn't be surprised if they increased the percentage to 15%.
So when they smash a load of tax on it, it'll go back to the high price we paid before and then the oil companies will increase it further 😑
Wait til Iran's oilfields are having supplies interrupted.
My XC70 works for me Geoff D5 obviously. All I have to do is regular servicing and re-attach the swirl valve actuator about every 6 months or when the engine service message comes on, of course I may upgrade to Volvos' new figure 8 actuator but that mean new valves,,,,but then better performance and increased fuel economy £550 but I'm thinking on it.
( P.S. towed AND reversed a caravan for someone up a greasy wet hill with no problem-straight passed the bogged down ford which was embarrassingly about ten meters off the entrance track )
After owning series 2,7, s80 we sold out xc40 for a lower cost Chinese EV, performance features and safety were better at 30% cheaper than Volvos EV. In Australia EVs are still overpriced. Charge for free between 11-2pm in Oz as we have excess of solar produced energy. UK consumers are being disadvantaged by the tarrifs. MG4 is £16k.
Yeh but it's Chinese !!! and your happy about that are you ? It's got no tariffs because your government has no real auto manufacturing and sell shit loads of minerals to China and doesn't want to upset them ! That will end if they can buy it cheaper elsewhere !! Oh yeh how safe is yor milk float too ???? Not very I would say looking at accident figures in China and airbags not working on new cars nevermind suspension items breaking etc etc they cut corners in every area !! Good luck with that
Hi Geoff l own a Mazda CX-5 turbo 2.5 all wheel drive heated seats and wheel sunroof the work's. We can drive it all day and get out feeling just as good as when we got in ,700 kms out of a tank of petrol is the normal the diesel is supposed to do better but l have developed a reaction to diesel fumes after years of driving tractors.
Luv watching and hearing about what's going on in the old home country and to hear some of the crappy ideas the government and council's come out with then only a month or two hearing it on your show to hear that the same fucking useless idea's they are going to do down here. There must be some secret organisation or something pushing these idea's that don't work and nobody wants but they have to waste our money and do it anyway.
Hey, Geoff. Not sure if you're aware of the complete stitch up of a review of both the Alfa Stelvio quadrifoglio and the Kia EV6, on the Fith Gear channel. Basically, Jason Plato panned the Stelvio in favour of the EV, but his claims have been proven to be BS by the Alfa community who know full well that the car does not act as he says it does when it is in the mode he apparently has it in for the test. Has Fith Gear fallen to the dark side and accepted some EV agenda bribes?
U Tube forced me to watch an advert for Ford EVs before this vid. Madness.
I haven't seen an advert for a petrol car in ages
You could always buy the premium TH-cam and never watch adverts.

I went out iny 86 Capri today. Its just better than everything on the new car meerkat today.
Budget winter car - saab 9-3
Wish mine was still running. Only part restored so far.
I signed up for Fully Charged when it first aired when Robert Kryton Llewelyn was badly editing it on his own. Like a lot of people I believed all the BS about electric cars being all this and all that. ".........and by 2024 EV's will be at a price where 'everybody' can afford them".................. DONGGGGGGGGGG!!!! No!! In order to get an electric car that will equally compete with my 2012 diesel Nissan I would have to spend in excess of £40K+. And I am just not prepared to do that for a car that in a year is worth nothing compared to its new price.
Petrol prices going down? Less than 14 hours and petrol prices are about to shoot up again thanks to the madness in the Middle East.
Q. Would you buy a Peugeot over a Tesla?
A. Yes, I blooming well would. Because Peugeot make desirable and well engineered vehicles that don't catch fire or suffer from suspension collapses, and Tesla don't.
Agreed Teslas look like dog shit.
Both shite
@@NewWorldHoarder Not all of them are. Have a look through their back catalogue. I particularly like the 1988 model range. It's stuffed to overflowing with some of the finest drivers cars the world has ever seen. 205 Gti 1.6 (handles better than 1.9), 309 Gti, 405 Mi16, 605 24v. Even the regular models with modest power are terrific to drive. This was Peugeot at their absolute brilliant best.
A car without a rear window. Isn't that a van?
On the Winter car recommendation: I think you've already cracked it. An oldish Volvo is exactly what I was imagining when you described the criteria. Or maybe a Skoda Superb AWD?
That new Mercedes super car 9.04 looks like a black and decker dust buster
I live in rural Spain,,,may see one EV every six months,,,nowhere to charge,,,2nd hand car prices through the roof,,,barking mad.
Hey Geoff good show 🌟🌟👍
A winter smoker A Jeep Wrangler with a flappy cover.
Volvo XC70- have had 3 in a row- really good in the snow- and very reliable !!
If EV's weren't an environmental disaster, weren't astronomically priced, weren't worth nothing after a few years, and if i could plug one in, id not get in one because I don't like the idea of getting in sat on top of a highly volatile battery travelling at speed.
You’d prefer sit on a tank of petrol
When people call the Bentley Continental GT a 'Conti', it always makes them sound like a bit of a Conti.
Great video with excellent editing Geoff. 👍
Fuel prices always come down, so they can increase them by more later. They raise the price by say 10p for a few months, it becomes normalised, then they drop it by 6p, everyone goes “ fuels cheap at the moment” Then they put it up by 10p again and on it goes.
Wow! The new car prices in the UK are high.
Whenever they show the old car vs the new futuristic electric one, i just think how excellent the old one was. Car design/manufacturing has gone the wrong way. Probably because of various green/safety laws.
When governments introduce "incentives" the hapless citizenry pay for it.
BBC news this morning
'EV sales have dropped as demand for diesel vehicles has risen over EV's.....
A Ford for the price of nice mid range Porsche, not so long ago.
geoff would be perfect on scrapheap challenge
As an oily rag
That Ferrari looks like an F-type Jag 😂
Ford needs to make cars that are interesting and not shite.... and dull.
I agree, something not quite right with that creepy guy on Fully Charged Show. We shall wait and see..
And still, none of these new EV's can meet the 400 mile range, a small internal hatchback like the Ford Fiesta can do.
Ford chairman says only half of their customers conduct 150mile road trips 4x per year or more.
Yamaha make conventional engines not just motorbike engines. They even made a F1 engine at one point. They are also used by other companies to help design a conventional car engine.
I laughed out loud when you mentioned crazy Kryton and I agree with all you said about him. Such an arrogant man along with all on his channel, except Jack who should be a host for a revamped Top Gear. Keep up your excellent vids mate.😊
Diesel Audi A6 Avant Quattro - for your winter hack
in regard to your comfy winter car recommendation. My 2015 Subaru Outback 3.6 ticks all of the boxes. Handles like a car, full time AWD for rain and snow, has decent power and is effortless to drive on country roads. Only downside is city economy of 10-11L/100km (25-28 mpg) although it is very frugal on the highway with 7-8L/100km (35-40 mpg)
Polestar. A four wheeled washing machine. 😂
Unfortunately the motor in the Caterham Project V is an electric motor, not a petrol engine…
I had 3 fiesta 1.6 zetec s. Bullet proof and loved them all. They don’t make them like that anymore.
You have to wonder about the sanity of ford when they stopped making the fiesta.
My £5000 low mileage 2013 C-Max? Love it. Anything available from the current list of new Ford models? Wouldn't touch any of 'em with a bargepole.
Clearly the government WILL have to 'incentivise' me, if it wants me to buy over-priced rubbish. It's almost as if the powers that be wish to bankrupt all the citizens. ps. If you shorten 'Conti GT' still further you get 'Cont GT'. 😜
EV companies should be honest about actual vs advertised (or ambitious) driving ranges.
£2,500, the price I paid eight years ago for a 2003 petrol RAV4. I would 'not' sell now for £10,000😍
Are all these fugly SUVs basically the same cars being sold in the US?
Inflated cars just don't fit in the UK.
