I recall a story; my friends wife intentionally broke his Madden PlayStation disc because it took time/attention away from her. Told him it ”fell down the steps”. I would’ve took her ass straight to the store to replace it
Abubakar Salim *ate* that scene confronting Corlys! Should be required for all young actors in training. And Corlys has spoken volumes with silence this season. Bravo gentleman!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you for this! I too went to school for acting with the intention of being a working actor until my health and my own mother’s death from cancer completely changed my life’s goals. Watching you both reminisce and talk about your careers does my heart well. And I have seen On the Waterfront! Lol Cheers gentlemen!
Just got done watching your scene where Alyn tells Corlys that he doesn’t want his help. It was brilliant. I also didn’t realize teal now that you were in Downfall. You were awesome in that. Keep up the great work.
Absolutely brilliant conversation. Gems from start to finish. The best compliment I can give it is even though so much of it was about very specific things in acting, even as just a viewer/fan I never felt isolated from any topic. Salim was astonishing as father on Raised by Wolves. Wish that show would come back. And what a great hearty laugh Salim has as well. Also the point about 'having the courage to do very little' as an actor ironically is exactly what Mr. Toussaint did in the scene where Alyn confronted Corlys which made the scene that much more impactful. Hope they get more scenes in S3.
Not just because I have Bayek favouritism is my no.1 ac protagonist, but the scenes with Corlys, Alyn and Addam have easily been my favourite parts this season. The scene in ep 6 with Alyn shaving his head and talking about Corlys with Addam was just superb. Great additions and performances from an already stacked cast
I said to myself I'd just watch a couple of minutes of this now, and finish up later when i have more time. Guess what, i was glued to the screen from start to finish ! You're both so charismatic and intelligent, that it made for a very interesting discussion. It was truly a joy to see! ❤ You are both very talented actors! I loooooved this season of the dragon show, and what you (Steve?) said stuck with me, that acting is reacting. So apart from or on top of both your talent, charisma and ability to shine in a scene, we should also credit the writers for giving you what I thought was brilliant dialogue to work with. And if I may suggest a question for any future interviews: how does an actor manage when the writing isn't brilliant? Of course if you hate the script with a passion, you can choose not to do it. But what if you absolutely must? Or the script on page is fine, but you get directions to play it in a way you fundamentally disagree with? What if instead of the De Niro confidence to do less, let the scene breathe and trust that the audience will project tge rest, they want you to overact? Can you do a Samuel L. Jackson and play every succesive take in the same way until they get sick of asking for a redo? Or is that something you can do only when you are Samuel L Jackson? Yours is a fascinating profession, but Iike all good things in life: it's hard. 😅
Abu, that was amazing! I remember looking you up after finishing AC and thinking "oh, I would love to see more of him... I hope he'll be a contet creator or something one day". Here you are... born for it... killing it in every aspect!❤
A beautiful discussion - you two bring so much heart to "Dragon" as Steve calls it. Wishing you continued producer-writer-actor-creator success. Cheers!
Absolutely loved your conversation! Not an interview but rather a chat between two pals, kudos to Abubakar for leading the conversation very smoothly. Btw it would be interesting to see you talk with someone like Eve Best since she’s RADA alumni (or someone similar, classically trained) and may have different perspective.
This was such a pleasure to watch! You both did PHENOMENAL this season and you can feel the love and respect you have for each other! I'm a nerd and love to hear about people's process as they approach a character and working on a scene with a fellow actor. The fact that you are developing games too! So incredible!
Wonderful conversation! You’re both so warm, smart and charismatic. (Also, as an improviser, the idea of there being actors out there who are out to make themselves good at the expense of their co-performers is TERRIFYING)
This is a really really great conversation between two really great actors. I love Steve Toussaint he really looks like a genuinely chill man you'd want to hang out with outside of work.
Next interview has to be with Eve Best and Clinton Liberty or a trio interview with Wil Johnson (Vaemond Velaryon) and Nanna Blondell (Adult Laena Velaryon) and John Macmillan (Adult Laenor Velaryon), yes I’m obsessed with House Velaryon, who wouldn’t be?!?! 💙🩵🧜🏿♀️🧜🏿♂️🔱
This was a great interview/Chat. I learned something new regarding the occupation/works of actors. Both of you are GREAT in HOTD. Keep up the great work.
@@surgentstudiosEve Best, Tom Glynn-Carney, Fabien Frankel. Or keep it in the family with Clinton Liberty, they're all brilliant! Eve is my vote: she has a fascinating career, and she didn’t flip out and lose her marbles when she found out you were her husband’s bastard son 😂 Joking, I can tell the characters apart from their actors, just nerding out here
Just want to say I have so enjoyed your performances on HOTD and i cant wait to see your work in future seasons ❤❤ sending all my love from a harcore Westeros fanatic from Sri Lanka 🎉 I wish you both good fortune in the wars to come!
Abubakar, I realized your talent in the Raised by Wolves show. I hope it relieves you not to have to be robotic this go around. 😊 Great to see you on screen again even though I must have been the last person to realize it.
I'm not an actor, but I am someone interested in the creative visual industries, and I just want to say thank you to abubakar for making some of the realest stuff produced about the actual meat and potatoes of working in this culture that's ever been released.
Thought your voice sounded familiar & realised you were Bayek in AC Origins, easily the best voice acting work in the AC series & tied first character (Altair, Ezio, Bayek)
I actually watched Pine Gap not long ago, that Australian show Steve mentioned was in that he said didn't really land with people, pretty much solely on the premise that he was in it. Oddly enough Milly Alcock also had a small role in it! I thought it was decent. For how it ended I'm sat there thinking "okay, Season 2 when?" and drew a complete blank from the searching I did. A shame. 🙂 Big interview, anyways. On one hand it's like just watching two of the man dem catching up, on the other it's two seasoned creatives sharing experiences and wisdom. Appreciate it!
Corlys is finally acknowledging one of his sons.
Finally 😒
bruh HAHAHHAHAH
😂😂😂😂😂
Allyn forgave him at last. 😂
With Alyn's trajectory, he better 😂😂😂
Abubakar Salim being an actor & game developer at the same time is so cool to me
He kinda just does whatever he thinks is fun and I respect that
I recall a story; my friends wife intentionally broke his Madden PlayStation disc because it took time/attention away from her. Told him it ”fell down the steps”. I would’ve took her ass straight to the store to replace it
OMG! Didn't realize it's the same guy! I'm an idiot
Also pretty prolific voice actor
He needs to develop an open world, two player house of the dragon/asoiaf game!
1 hour of silky smooth voices and awesome human beings? Yes please
Abubakar Salim killed it in that season finale. Alyn going off on Corlys was on of the better scenes of the entire season, bravo to both of you
Abubakar Salim's last scene in the HOTD finale was SO strong. They both do so well with limited screen time.
I’m glad to see father and son finally sit down for a real talk. 😂
Steve Toussaint gets to go from having all the hair to none of it multiple times in the same day 🤣
Abubakar Salim *ate* that scene confronting Corlys! Should be required for all young actors in training. And Corlys has spoken volumes with silence this season. Bravo gentleman!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Love to see some Brothers killing it in Hollywood 🙏🏿✊🏿
Abubakar, just finished watching your performance on Critical Role's Downfall and you were bloody fantastic my dude.
Toussaint makes me want to work the sails on a ship even though I’ve never seen him on a ship
And apparently he is seasick, or used to be 😂 He is an amazing actor!
yassss EVE BEST next Abubakar
Ooh that's a great idea 👀
Yeah, she's lovely.

I had no idea Abubakar Salim has voiced so many games. Now I realized he sounds just like Rokhan. He's amazing!
He was amazing in Assassin's Creed Origins too
@@hannibalb8276 now i regret playing odyssey instead of origins, those games take a long time to finish
Watching downfall and HotD the last few weeks has really shown how much fun Abu is having these days. What a talent

Abubakr’s been awesome since Bayek, and Steve is awesome as Corlys. 💯/ 💯 interview.
I had no idea he was bayek from ACO
Now that you say it I hear it
I absolutely love these two in HOTD - phenomenal actors in their own right making magic on the screen together. Great interview, thank you so much
It’s interesting how UK actors seems to be so professional and take their acting serious. I’m guessing it’s from strong Shakespearean roots
Theater in the UK has a strong foundation from community/council theater (where John Boyega came from) to RADA.
The Sea Snake and Oakenfist, my Lords of the Tides 🌊
Toussaint is cool AF
Watching house of the dragon thinking "this alyn guy looks a bit like the zau developer during the presentation"
Guy is living the dream
We were wondering if people would put 2 and 2 together 😂

Amazing performances from both these wonderful humans! That speech from Alyn in ep 8 had my heart in my throat, so powerful and moving. ❤
Both of these gents are so talented and so genuine. Great interview!
Steve Toussaint is so funny! They're both just so cool! I'D be quite intimidated to meet them for sure!!
Hair really makes people look different.
Right?? These guys are barely recognisable!

As Stevens mom l think he is great educated intelligent human being.May God continues to bless him.

I really loved raised by wolves what a shame the show was canceled
Yeah surprising to see few people talking about that one, he was amazing as Father
Love this chat. So natural. Like two mates at the pub.
This was such a lovely conversation to listen to. Steve is a treasure.
We gotta have Eve Best on next!!!!!

I'll see what I can do 😏

This was great! I'd love to see Eve Best as a guest, she's a phenomenal actor 🥳
Such a lovely chat to watch. Fave people in the show are just some cool guys that I can actually relate to
Steve Toussaint and Eve are remarkable!
this is great, didn't know you were a game developer. I can't wait to see more of Alyn in HotD!
Absolutely loved this conversation, I could listen to you both talk together for hours. Thank you for this!
Damn, he looks so much younger with hair 😂 I had to imagine him bald and check the comments to make sure it was the same dude. What a transformation
You are both great in HOTD, been a fan since AC: origins
Really enjoyed watching this. Will we see any other House of the Dragon cast members on here?

I did not realize the guy from the kinda funny and gaming interviews was the House of the Dragon guy.....daaaaaamn. Black excellence

Steve Toussaint is in my black mount Rushmore. Sam Jack, Denzel, Steve, Idris……..Salim is awesome too💯
Father and son moment😂 this is just too cool
Make him a Valaryn Corlys🤣🤣🤣 Fan of the series
Brilliant!!!
Yes, kings

Human gems!! 😊
incredible video friends
Well done
LEGENDS
WAIT...the guy behind ZAU is in House of the Dragon? Nice one
YOU FOLKS ARE ROCKING ! YOU WERE GREAT IN HOT D !

Will have to give Pine Gap a watch! Honestly if Steve is in it I'm watching.
Salt and Sea ❤
I swear to god, that Alyn/Corlys scene was the only good thing about the finale.
It’s a great scene
Toussaint was an inspired bit of casting by HBO
Without Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed doesn't exist and therefore no Bayek.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
FATHER!
Was this before or after critical role downfall
Steve Toussiant over here lookin like KEM the singer 😂
ever need a senior marketing exec hit me upp, I’m your gal 💃🏾
Steve Toussaint looks like he's only in his 40s... 😮
