You need to get the novels between book 1 and book 2. It’s from Warners POV and gives you a lot of insight into his character!

I feel a weird amount of stress with the limits of a 24 hour readathon on your behalf lol, so I think this version feels more cozy. & I feel the same about the OUABH series - I LOVE the writing and I LOVE Jacks so, so, so much. Evangeline, however, is a bit much for me. I don't love her. Can't wait for the next one, thoughhh! 🦊

The shatter me series gets better as you go! I really enjoyed the second book but I can’t stand Juliette, I would prefer the book without her LOL. I’m only reading for the plot and side characters. I also really enjoy Tahereh Mafi’s writing style. I always go to her books when i’m in a slump because they’re so easy to get through.

If you like Warner, you definitely need to finish the rest of the series. The first book is hella slow and more backstory of Juliette’s trauma and laying the groundwork for future relationship dynamics. The rest of the books are the good ones because we get waaaay more Warner and he’s the loml

I must know 😭😭😭 The Shatter Me series for me personally is a 3 star series, however Kenji is a 5 star character 🥹 I really really think you’re gonna love him!!! I got the Once Upon a Broken Heart series for my birthday today and you’ve just knocked it SO far up my tbr cause what do you mean that ending 😭😭😭 I don’t even known what the series is about but I need to know the ending of the second book right now 😭 I read Five Survive back in January & it really cemented that Holly Jackson will be an author that I pick up every new release!! Her books aren’t anything crazy, but she captivates her audience so well!! 🦊🦊🦊

I’m late to Shatter Me too. I was super unsure about the first book and novella. It picks up midway through Unravel Me and omg Ignite Me is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me.
The Ballad of Never After was sooo good! ❤ I enjoyed it a lot more than Once Upon a Broken heart. I agree with you about Evangeline. In the first book, she annoyed me and I found her to be a kind of boring and too innocent main character who was making reckless and stupid decisions all the time. 😂 However, by the end of the book and the beginning of Ballad of Never After, she really grew on me and I started liking her a lot. Girlie definitely didn’t deserve that ending!! So excited for book three tho omg. If you haven’t read the Caraval trilogy by Stephanie Garber yet, you should 100% read it. It gives you much more insight on Jacks and his backstory and in my opinion Caraval>>>>> Once Upon a Broken Heart. I must say you peaked my interest with Five Survive! I’ve read Holly Jackson’s first book, A good girl’s guide to murder, but didn’t continue on with the other books because I felt like the book finished well on its own. This blog was super cool and you’ve earned a new sub, girlie!💗💗💗

Please please get the Shatter Me novellas and read in order! There is a novella before the second Shatter Me book. It will truly enhance the story! I felt the same way you did with how Shatter Me started but trust the process😅
You should definitely read the Destroy Me novella before picking up the second book in the series. It’s from Warner’s point of view and it’s a great insight to his perspective during the first book! 🦊

Evangeline just came off thirsty to me in Ballad. But it still got 5 stars from me.
Once the series is all said and done, I’d offer my first born to get the story from Jacks’ POV… If my first born wasn’t already a 15 year old boy, it just doesn’t hold the same weight.

I literally finished the ballad of never after an hour ago, we are definitely on the same wavelengths!
Jacks is everything and Evangeline is sweet and I can appreciate her whimsical, and often naive approach to life but what frustrates me is that she never learns.. she makes the same mistakes repeatedly despite admitting her past mistakes lol..
yes!! i don’t hate evangeline, i appreciate her happy disposition, it’s her clearly making the same mistakes over and over again that drives me nuts lol
