How difficult was it to attach a yakima platform to the backbone system?
What bumper / grille guard? That's exactly what I want.

I don’t know how Yakima isn’t bigger in the 4x4 world, they make quality products. I run the Yakima aceOspades lockable shovel holder and is by far the best design I’ve seen around yet.

Thanks for the review. Was there much mucking around from going from the Rhino-rack Backbone system to the Yakima Platform? Also, I'm trying to find out if the backbone system will fit my MN Triton. So far they only have it fitting the MQ model. Do you know if this would work as you had to do a similar thing. Cheers
No mate it fit perfectly as the mounts on the Yakima move around nicely to any spot you need them to be, then you just lock it down.
Awesome vid ty 👌🏽I am in the market shopping for a roof rack and came down to these two as well for my Toyota Fortuner. I was leaning towards the rhino pioneer until I read the reviews about noise and watched your vid. A year later how is the Yakima, you still happy?

The only reason I went with pioneer platform is they had a 107×58 platform.
Do you know if the yakima universal mounts will work with pioneer?
Might need to ask your local dealer about the mounts I’m not sure.,

Did you have any issues fitting the Yakima LockNLoad to the Rhino Barebone? How are they holding up presently?
No issues putting this set up together, still going strong today
Yakima makes something similar to the Barebone. Yakima has the Ruggedline. Unfortunately, it’s not sold in the states. Barebones looks great and they are basically the same thing. Thanks

TY FENWICK I'd appreciate that. Yakima is offering several sizes for the 250 but yours fits like a glove. Hopefully they offer dimensions very close to yours.

Mines been fine, not bad at all. Mine has a wind defector fitted standard on the platform.

I had my local roof rack shop install mine, hardest part was finding one to fit I think we used a Toyota prado one from memory. Only because rhino don’t make one for the f truck. I’d highly recommend getting a qualified shop to fit the back bone as it’s requires drilling into the roof etc.

Josh Arbour did you ever get that backbone for your 2007? I have a 2008 that I'll be doing the same to. I may see if the 2017 can be fitted
how did you connect them? did you get any adaptor to put the rhinorack with yakima lacknload?
The mounts on the Yakima can move around and they lined up with the holes on the backbone 👍🏼
Why do Australians put aerials on their bull bars? I’ve noticed this on a lot of Australian trucks.
Just a convenient spot I guess, I’d much rather it on the roof but running the wires up there sucks.

Sweet rig bro! I have Yakima racking on my Tacoma bed. Probably going to get the Prinsu, just for the simple fact that I have the sun/moon roof and the Prinsu allows for the cross bars to be bolted accordingly, so it's still usable. Cheers, from NorCal.

you mention having to use a Prado model for the backbone.... what model, year of Prado was used for the backbone? also, you mention you had to "cut down" the platform size... can you explain what cutting you had to do?

What is the height (thickness) of the platform excluding the legs?
It’s around 2.5” inches
I'm trying to find one for my 2013 F-150 Super Crew. Do they require drilling? Do they require drilling and did you go with rivets or bolts all the way through?
Rhino-Rack Pioneer 2 corners are plastic and very difficult to assemble due to cheap screws and tight angles.

I didn’t notice any change, but owning a F-Truck and being concerned about fuel consumption is not really on my priority list 😂🤙🏼

I’m not sure if rhino has started full production on gen 2 Platform yet.
I've heard they are almost ready to launch the 2nd gen.

That awning is sick! Did that mounting hardware come with it or did you have to buy aftermarket mounts for it? REALLY dig the awning mounted like that!

@@TyFenwick 😂 well you should have shown it, I just purchased the Yakima roof rack along with some accessories, for my ram 2500 and was just desperate to see what it actually looked like, I didn't mean to be offensive in any kind of way, but I I'm the type that wanna know every detail on certain items, but anyway good video👍

Just from the headline of the video, I 100% agree. Returned our RHINO-RACK. Set up was stupid, hard and full of Chinese cheap parts.
Which Prado backbone did you use? There’s a 150 model and a 120 model. Not sure the difference. I have a ‘15 F-150.
I think it might have been a LC200 back bone mate, if you’re going to get one fitted I’d suggest going to a store and just trying a bunch of back bones on the roof till one fits the contour.
Do you recall what size Yakima platform you went with? I definitely would like to get the larger rack and modify it to cover the entire roof on my f250.
I went with a larger suv platform then cut it down to fit the roof of the f250 perfect. As Yakima don’t make one for the f250 we had to customise it.
