I wonder why ND does not stock crappies into these tiny lakes? I am aware that it would be very easy to fish out crappies in the winter, but still crappies are a blast to catch and highly desirable. I think with good restrictions crappies could be stocked into designated lakes. Just a thought....
They’d have to release the info to the public about it and they don’t want to waste a ton of tax payers money on lakes that’ll freeze out occasionally. Also an over population of crappie will end up killing off the walleye and perch in them
i remember when scooby lake by max got stocked it was like fish in a barrel they were aggressive and cookie cutters every one was 15.5 inches but you could catch 200 a day
Bought first flip over after a couple otter hubs, but fished out of my buddies older Jason Mitchell voyager. Not sure if it’s the new design but the third pole or last from the back has a hell of a time locking in it gets super tight. Would recommend if able popping up in store before purchasing
How old of a shelter is it? Does it have the quick connect clips? Sometimes you can tighten the bolt and nut to fix the clip so it works right. I am guessing that is an easy fix.
@@JasonMitchellOutdoors shelter is brand new ordered and picked up right from clam corp in Roger’s in mid October. The quick connects lock in alright the fabric just seems way to tight and really takes a lot of force to get up to the locking point.
@@johnt6940 is the fabric so tight that the bar or frame in the front doesn’t lay flat on the ice? I wonder if you have to loosen the fabric on the back. If you are close to Clam, I would swing in some time and have Mike Raetz look at it as he assembles them and can see what is wrong. Should be easy to fix.
@@JasonMitchellOutdoors it does lay flat, tried also lubricating the poles as well. I was just thinking that I will give them a call tomorrow thank you!
I live in this area, typically can walk on the ice the weekend after Thanksgiving. Some years earlier then that. First weekend or two of December would be a good bet to be able to try for the north Dakota surf and terf.
Are these lakes pretty unknown, I’m from sd and lakes around where I’m at are pretty well known and I have been trying to find some good lakes with fish
Both, I tend to stay away from the well known lakes not because they don't produce just like being on my own most of the time. There are a lot of 100 to 500 acre slough that you are all alone on.
Any suggestions on a Good Guide Service for the Devils Lake area or really anywhere in ND? I’ve been pretty disappointed with the last couple we’ve used there. Run you out to Stump and ya catch 15 perch some rather small but you have to keep because it’s deep water. And then they try to get you home by noon. $250 a day for this? No interested. I’d prefer to fish walleye and I want to fish all day. I went to Winnipeg this year ice fishing and the guides there were far superior to any guides I’ve had at Devils for far less $. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
I've started bleeding my eaters before I throw them in the bucket. It's amazing how much cleaner and whiter the fillets are later on.
love these shows man those are some mint looking walleye
Great video. Lots of practical information. The aquarium is a good idea. These lakes would be fun to fish from a kayak.
Such a different way to fish walleye! I need to come out there for like a week sometime when I can!
Met you at the boat show. Thanks for the hat and thanks for the chat!
Thanks Jason great video. 👍
Awesome 👏 Nothing like that in the concrete jungle. Good fun 🤩
Nice video! Does Taylor just stand at the front of the ice house all day filming inward? Or does he get a chance to fish!?
Tayler gets to fish when the fishing is really good or really bad. He is usually pretty focused on the camera.

There’s dozens of crappie waters on the list including some prairie lakes. Search for crappies only to see the list
Nice job fellas!
What type of minnow are you using? Great video Jason!
Fathead minnows
Jayson do a episode fishing Zander’s on Spirit Wood Lake
I have tried! Big time bucket list

Most of the crowds or well known lakes are a perch bite not walleye
Nice !

No issue with ice buildup on that braid?
Am curious why you guys run the transducer so far below the ice? Thanks
No specific reason. I like to run mine right under the ice or bottom of the hole.
Have you found using glow colors increase your catch on these stained waters?
Sometimes yes
What lakes are you fishing on?
Clark lake ?
Island lake
What lake we on? Lol
a frozen one
Donald Trump does not like ice fisherman
