- Hello! I continue building the earth bushcraft shelter. This time I dig a hidden fireplace and finish the roof/camouflage using moss.

You could use the chimney to smoke meats and whatnot. You not only made a fireplace. You also have a way to preserve food as well

We have one of the best imaginations that I can think you seem to know exactly what you’re gonna do when you find the place that you like to make a little hot that is so wonderful and everything seem to turn out fine you don’t seem to have a problem you’re a smart man I really enjoy watching videos when it’s real warm here I watch your videos when you’re out in the snow and it seems to help me I like feeling cool but not freezing like where you at. I shall put oil on the board after making it smoother at home.
The thick earth roof should absorb quite a lot of water, as long as it's not raining heavily for long times the roof will not leak. The floor will rarely be flooded, it was simply so wet after winter when I started building.

@@AgeofTheNorthForgive the tardiness of my response but thank you for you reply. I was only asking about the board specifically because I used to make cutting boards and an old uncle bungcal used to tell me I must oil it for protection. I truly admire what you constructed.

Do you know how to camouflage the smoke coming out of your fireplace?
I JUST found this after watching the terrain crafting page for a while and realizing it wasn't being added to. I learned a lot from it. This will definitely be less watched, but it still has a certain zen to it, I guess you could call it. You should check out Borut Peterlin here on TH-cam. He's a very old school style photographer, but has some similar bits to some of his videos.

Hmm you ought to insulate the fireplace/chimney with either metal sheets or some kind of metal pipe to minimize the risk of the ground and roots catching fire come summer. Still a very inspiring build though!
Yeah something might start burning in the ground if there is fire for a long time. However I believe the earth is so sandy and moist that it's no big problem.
At what point in this video did you realize that finding the shelter after camouflaging it might be a problem??

What happened with oats?
I found out that they were causing slow/gassy digestion for me. Now I eat more meat and eggs. Carbs I get from potatoes, honey and fruit. Still oats are good if times get rough
