    I just ordered a Gen 2 Kel Tec Sub 2K. I had to sell my old Gen 1 a while back. This is one of the most brilliant rifles ever, in my opinion! I hope you guys continue to grow as a company and get better and better.

    Chad, how could kel tec think the sights on this gun were good to go?? What would have been so hard in making them taller? Every person that shoots it says the same thing, they have to mash their face down so hard on the stock to get low enough for proper sight alignment that it's completely uncomfortable and an unnatural position. They need to be a full half inch taller.

    • @BeastlyBass91
      @BeastlyBass91 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. There's a mount you can purchase that locks on the bottom rail and comes up over the top for optics. The top of the mount swivels to allow the gun to fold without unmounting the optics.

    • @robertgaudet7407
      @robertgaudet7407 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I like them. But then, my first rifle was an AK. And you need to squeeze yourself on to those AK iron sights. Don't get me wrong, there's a red dot offset on the sub 2k as well, but I don't mind defaulting to the irons one bit. They're so easy to use and they give you tight little groups. Wish my AK grouped like this thing does.

      @timd729 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertgaudet7407 it's 2 years later... What do you think of the gun now? How does it feel slouching down to look through the sights.. I'm very interested in these and there is a rebate going on now..

    • @KingAnarchist

      I was born without a neck and these sights are PERFECT for me! I think they might've been designing it with folks like me in mind.

    Thanks Chad, great short to the point video.
    Now the problem, I still could not get my gun apart! Oh wait I STILL CANT FIND ONE TO BUY AT ANY OF MY LOCAL SHOPS, AFTER A YEAR NOW. WTF.
    And One of my local dealers said the last time he called and asked to get me one of the glock 17 gen 2's his distributor laughed at him.

    I just figured it out guys, it is a little hard for reassembly.

    Good video, the question I have is how much oil is recommended on the bolt. Being here so much metal and metal is good to run quite a bit wet rather than just a light coat?

  • @tfeltmat2903
    @tfeltmat2903 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the video. The gun has run flawlessly, but I cannot seem to get the bolt to come out. It gets stuck at the bottom of the pipe and while I could "persuade" it, I'd rather not take a hammer to the gun.

    • @Dive-Bar-Casanova
      @Dive-Bar-Casanova ปีที่แล้ว

      Take a flat tip screwdriver and thru the ejection port you can thus reset the hammer. Then, you may have to tickle the hammer a tiny bit more as you slide the bolt into place if it hangs up.

  • @Ireelymeanit

    I’m trying to take mines down for the first time and my recoil spring and charging handle are stuck it’s not falling out, what do I do?

    • @Ireelymeanit
      @Ireelymeanit ปีที่แล้ว

      Hammer doesn’t need to be reset and charging handle pull to the rear to release spring but the recoil spring doesn’t come out even after pulling with all my strength. The gun worked fine after first 150 rounds I just wanted to clean it and can’t because of this issue. Does it need to be sent back to KelTec? Or a quick fix?

    Kel Tec video FAILS TO MENTION a key step when disassembling. (step #2)
    Disassembly
    1. Check...No rounds in firearm. Magazine removed.
    2. *Pull CHARGING HANDLE back. (this pulls the HAMMER back so it's ready to fire).
    3. "SAFETY ON" so you WILL NOT accidentally pull the trigger and release the HAMMER.
    4. Continue doing all the other steps to disassemble.
    If the trigger is accidentally fired while it is disassembled, here's a video on RESETTING THE TRIGGER in order to get the bolt back in. th-cam.com/video/2Mx-wN7l3DY/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps.

    • @Jesses001
      @Jesses001 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am sorry, but the pin is just a pain in the but to get out. There is not much I can offer you other then be careful not to injure your hands pulling on that darn thing. Oh, I might have something. The stock likes to pop off just a hair when you have the pin half out, so try and wiggle the stock a bit while pulling on the pin. It is going to be difficult.

    • @jonathaneglinton5378

      You have to push in the end plug slightly to release the pressure from the recoil spring (he covers that in the video).

      Ha, and people say the gen 1 is more of a POS than a Gen 2. Seriously if you have a problem with the Gen 2 send it in for repair.. Kel Tec is not known for its stellar quality control.

  • @Lilnasty-jo3dc
    @Lilnasty-jo3dc 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Most all gun shops around my area will not sell KelTecs! They tell me the same thing, they say they are garbage, and you guys can't get the guns out! I have only seen one Sub2000 ever and it was a damn 40S&W so yeah I passed! Plus it wasn't the one that took Glock mags! Looks like by now you guys could get enough guns out to gun stores but I guess your not really growing! Just a guess but something's wrong that's for sure!!

      I saw 8 for sale at Academy stores in Houston, went the next day and they were all gone. There’s a big demand for it like the other person said. I finally googled it in San Antonio, and a gun shop was selling one. I was there when they opened the store and I was able to purchase it.

      Haha, funny. 2 of my Buddies bought one and I am thinking about it too.. the Glock 19 versions are sold out everywhere. So much for this BS..

  • @MrPlecemanvpd
    @MrPlecemanvpd ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s a cool gun that works. However , I can buy more quality parts from Dollar Tree. The first day I took mine out the recoil spring broke. All the parts are very cheaply made from cheap plastic. However the gun is fun though. I would say if possible but the Beretta CX4 storm it’s much better quality far superior. The Ruger PC carbine is also a much better buy.
