There are a lot of those.
@@phinixyt6694 Yes but I would argue she is one of the most uniquely talented if you listen to her full scope of work
@@Moon_Fire_Water there are also a lot of those.
This was shot at the school her mother taught at. A beautiful song.
"You're young until you're not. You love until you don't. You try until you can't. You laugh until you cry. You cry until you laugh. And everyone must live until their dying breath."
sad 2 hear about the shool shooting. regina's mum shouldn't blame herself
Boner Pig Are you trying to be funny??? That person above was saying that this was filmed at the school Regina's mother taught at.
sorry i misread it. thanks for telling me I haven't listened to this song since because i thought it was too sad
I thought the school thing might have been a reference to her mother's career in teaching.
Boner Pig I hope you can listen to it happily now! :)
RIP to the legend E-Dubble. Thank you regina for letting him use your sample

S1iced this is the comment i was searching for.

Rest in peace, love his songs.
what song was this?
14 years later STILL one of my FAVES!!!
We’re on the same vibe right now
Broooo me too. 17 years for me now, and it’s still a frequent banger 🥰
Saw her in concert last week, truly amazing! She sounds perfect!
16 years later and I am LIVING her albums/songs
17 YEARS NOW!
When she sings “ everyone must breathe until they’re dying breath” just makes me think about my parents and how I have so much time on this earth with my parents yet how little it is at the same time. Cherish your loved ones
And yet that is not always the case is it.
iv been listening to e double for many years now, always comeing back to him when I'm at my lowest in life and IV only found "on the radio today".
good thing iv looked for the original song he sampled, this is helping me a little now and I feel satisfied hearing this now ❤❤❤
Missing my dad heavily. Almost two years now.. He was my best friend in the whole wide world.. PLEASE take this advice from this comment.."When she sings “ everyone must breathe until they’re dying breath” just makes me think about my parents and how I have so much time on this earth with my parents yet how little it is at the same time. Cherish your loved ones." *CHERISH*

"While we were on our knees, praying that disease would leave the ones we love and never come again"
I want to sing this into manifestation but i cant without crying.
God bless Regina
Regina Spektor is just heaven.
And her voice too
This is probably the first music video I’ve ever seen where the video enhanced the music rather than distracted from it. Loved it.
Bb
When she sings about disease all i can think about is depression, anxiety and bulimia.
I'm on my early 20s and all my friends are sick. I'm on my knees everyday prayin that we can pass trough this hard times. Regi songs makes me believe everything is going to be okay
I'm sorry, I hope you all are finding your way and making it through

Maevis!
I almost cried
And I cried like a bitch 😖
And that fucken invalid ruined it! Imma make him paralyzed again!!!!
I heard this song when I was 20 and first renting a room in a townhouse with my best friend, living on my own after experiencing a tragedy. I’m 32 now and still have yet to hear a better description of the human experience than these lyrics, from the surreal to the real to the emotional - it’s just accurate.

I don't know what is it about her voice, but she has something that no one else today has. Her voice reminds me of the times before my own birth.
She just radiates ancient peace, she has a lovely stillness about her that is missing form most people and performers
@@jellyrcw12 A million ancient bees, radiating ancient peace
I saw Regina perform at the Sydney opera house several years ago. Her voice was even more angelic live. She was severely jet-lagged and forgot many lyrics but we loved her and she accepted a long stemmed rose from a child in the front row at the end of the performance. Such a great experience 💛
I have been listening to this song for 13 years or so, and its still gets me
my old music teacher was actually her mom and she used to love to show us some of regina’s music but she loves to show us this one specifically
Everytime
Regina is divine. So smart, so talented, so wise for her years...
This hit me in a new way with everything going on right now. Miss my class and hope my loved ones will be safe from disease.
There is something about her music that gives me an emotion I can’t explain and I never will. It’s so beautiful, thank you.
That woman has one of the loveliest voices ever. The rest is pretty lovely too, but that voice...
One of my favorite songs by regina beautiful lyrics, simple words but great meaning.
This is how it works
You're young until you're not
You love until you don't
You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry
You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe
Until their dying breath
Those are more honest lyrics than any song I've ever heard. That is real life.
Those are one of my favourite lyrics ever, it describes all possible lifes
"No this is how it works. You peer inside yourself. You take the things you like, and try to love the things you took. And then you take that love you made and stick it into someone else's heart - pumping someone else's blood." That follow-up is important. While what precedes it is absolutely honest and and beautiful - the second part changes it. She says "No, this is how it works" If you're able to do more than survive, if you're able to somehow find beauty and passion on top that, you share it with other people. Which makes sense, given the music video and that her mom is a music teacher. When times are hard, laugh until you cry, cry until you laugh, and just keep breathing, it's all you have to do. But when times aren't hard - take the love you've found and share it with others.
Golden words! They've stuck with me since i first bought this record
this is the sweetest music video ever
So many songs have comments turned off so I'm posting here. These albums are possibly the greatest accomplishment of any artist alive today. My love for the world has grown through her music. It just seems to me she's soaked every drop of life available to the universe into her pen and then returns it to us even better.
This song makes me cry every time I hear it damnit
I put this lady on the same level as Fiona Apple and Suzanne Vega, all rare, precious, and distinctively unique musical talents.
Yes, kind of the same feel..an awesome era
This song meant a lot to me. It was part of my early relationship life. My eyes are wet now cus I just remembered who I used to be. When my love was pure and genuine.
See, people are bound to break your heart but what we take out from the experiences goes a long way to shape our lives.
I'm going to love again. I know I will.
It will come when you least expect it tho good to nudge yourself into an activity of passion if you can :) Glad you remember how you love pure and genuine . If you love music maybe a dance class will let you unfold that love again . I found Argentine Tango classes at a local rec center when I felt similar to you in the most depressed lost and hopeless time at 38 now 43 . I always secretly wanted to dance with this old music and to my surprise it wanted to dance with me too . Now I can take classes and dance at milongas no matter if I'm sad or celebrating . Tango is always there for me even when I'm timid of my skills . The journey has introduced me to what I call my "tango family" of all ages from youth to 80 year old friends . Doing something cool for yourself will help you find that love again BBN . I know it will :)))
"A million ancient bees
Began to sting our knees
While we were on our knees
Praying that disease
Would leave the ones we love
And never come again"
So Regina's lyrics are doubly prescient - talking of the future as well as the past of all our inner lives. The magic is that her musicality and voice (oh her voice!) are the perfect vehicles for the words. So here we are, living at an awful time but one with many wonders in it. So lucky she is one of them.
OBSESSED with how she ends the first refrain rhyming "long" with "song", and the second refrain rhyming "rain" with "refrain". Going from ABCC to ABCB is brilliant
The crazy thing is that regina Spektors mom , bella spektor was my elementary music teacher! I remember her mom showing us this music video. She was such a wonderful music teacher❤ love you Ms. Spektor 😊
It's rare to find elegant music nowadays

You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry
You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe until their dying breath
WHAT?! SO good.
Hey 2012, I want your body
Regina Spektor is Gold, she was obviously not formed in a supernova before the big bang, but she is nevertheless as rare as visible dark matter, something that holds our universe together.
Regina Spektor would be an awesome teacher!
This is how it works
You're young until you're not
You love until you don't
You try until you can't

2018 and Regina Spektor's songs are still as beautiful and new when I go back to it...
2022
2024
The only reason I know Regina is because she allowed E-Dubble to sample this song for his (also named On the Radio :p), and I thank the heavens that I investigated that sample. Regina is a savant of vocals, and it's musical murder how she's not more famous than she is.
May he Rest In Peace 😿😿😿
@@DrYahya7 sad
I agree with you. I'd never heard her name or her music. I like her. 😊✌️
@@racerx1189 she's been live proof for over a decade that talented ppl who don't sell out don't get the contracts they deserve.
Regina gained some notoriety in the 2000's, toured a lot, but she wasn't selling overly sexualized music which is what sells the most, unfortunately.
A lot of people know her from the call. The end song in the movie narnia :).
10 years ago, so long ago, and I still love this song and Regina
Spotify recommended this song to me a million years ago and opened my eyes to a whole new genre of music and one of my favorite artists.
This is how it works
It feels a little worse
Than when we drove our hearse
Right through that screaming crowd
While laughing up a storm
Until we were just bone
Until it got so warm
That none of us could sleep
And all the Styrofoam
Began to melt away
We tried to find some worms
To aid in the decay
But none of them were home
Inside their catacomb
A million ancient bees
Began to sting our knees
While we were on our knees
Praying that disease
Would leave the ones we love
And never come again
On the radio
We heard November Rain
That solo's really long
But it's a pretty song
We listened to it twice
'Cause the DJ was asleep
This is how it works
You're young until you're not
You love until you don't
You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry
You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe
Until their dying breath
No, this is how it works
You peer inside yourself
You take the things you like
And try to love the things you took
And then you take that love you made
And stick it into some
Someone else's heart
Pumping someone else's blood
And walking arm in arm
You hope it don't get harmed
But even if it does
You'll just do it all again
And on the radio
You hear November Rain
That solo's awful long
But it's a good refrain
You listen to it twice
'Cause the DJ is asleep
On the radio
(Oh, oh, oh)
On the radio
On the radio, uh oh
On the radio, uh oh
On the radio, uh oh
On the radio
Is this poetry?
She’s amazing 😉

What an AMAZING way for kids to learn more about something so very beautiful! My children and I are so much more than blessed to be okay if this mother with ALL share called "Earth"!
I just love how the lyrics are bright yet subtle and it's hopeful yet not too idealistic :)
Her voice is a room of suffused gold.
"This is how it works

Muito lindo! =D
This video made me cry because I'm thinking about the kids who participated. There are probably some in there that have loved and known music was their thing since they were even younger and this must have been so special for them to take part in. The things that stick with me are memories of people validating my love of art growing up, so no doubt for those kids this was and still is special to them. And for Regina too, as she has grown up learning music, having musical parents, and doing this video at her mother's school. Sharing the encouragement she had when she was younger here with these kids is beautiful!
I think I'm the luckiest person in the world. I've been placed under the magic spell of a musical angel named Regina. She's cast her eternal song charms upon me without end. Oh, how I love her beautiful music.
Her mother teaches music for the New York public school system and this is her class room.
Jim Strowd Wow.
Wrong. Her mom sang with the Ronettes. And on "Take Me Home Tonight" by Eddie Rabbit.

This is by far my favorite video, and one of the best songs by her. She is my favorite artist. I got my class to listen to her because of a report I did for school. Thank you Regina, for being an inspiration to girls and women everywhere, even those of us with no aims to be singers :)
thank you for letting edubble use this as a sample, legends helping legends, too bad hes gone
It’s so cute at the end, the little kids are trying to copy her. Adorable. Truly adorable.
I love how she's not afraid to make faces while she sings. And have it on her video :) It's so beautiful and simple and real.
the first song I heard from you Regina, and I was immediately enthusiastic about the special music and your beautiful voice, thank you for that.
'we listen to it twice, because the DJ is asleep'
- sometimes in life there are situations where we have no control, all we can do is sit back, listen, and even if its long, or hard, you find the beauty.
While we were on our knees
Praying that disease
Would leave the ones we love
And never come again
Love, love, love! This is an ear worm in my life. I heard this song once and it has been here in my life ever since.

Jesus, I miss 2010. Chill back, watch avatar and play halo listening to Regina Spektor. I miss those days
We are not average
We can make magic
We are young mavericks
We can watch labyrinth
And debate David Bowie
Talk about how the song in the movie is a poem
And this is poetry and
We roll with these
Punches and minutes and days until it's over
We
won't stop until the last breath
And this music keeps us human until death
A 4 chord progression so def that
A tear slips out your eye and your
Left, breathless relentless unkempt
But you feel so free those words were unsaid
Emails were unsent and for 3 good minutes you ditched that regret l, cause you
Listen to it twice
We all wanna be...
