It's been a while since I have listened to this wonderful singer. I can only say I consider her voice to be the most beautiful in the world, what a wonderful vibrato, never overbearing, it blends in perfectly with her voice, it never distorts the intonation, as I've heard happen with many singers. A truly great artist.

No matter how many times I see and hear Patricia sing an aria, I am always struck not only by the beauty of her voice but also by her stage presence and her complete mastery of the aria, not to mention the joy she displays as she sings!
Such a glorious voice--I often find myself returning to this rendition, this singer. I played my students a video of her singing a different aria, along with another singer, more famous, who I won't name. All students had to do was listen and watch and vote. Here in China, all eight of the third year students in my literature class chose Patricia. Nobody knew about her already: she won them heart and mind at first encounter.

I first heard Patricia Janeckova's voice a few months ago, and TH-cam has her voice for about a decade so far. I was mesmerized by the clarity and brilliance of her voice. She later became my walking companion. However, I recently read on Wikipedia that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and has taken an indefinite hiatus from her career. I was very surprised. The arias she sings in her operas are of course wonderful. I also learned about Lloyd Weber's song, "Pie Jesu" from "Requiem". What a pure voice. I will always be waiting to hear your new voice again.

My favourite aria. Beautifully sung - superb. I'm not in anyway an expert, I'm merely a very ordinary lover of music, and for me there is just something missing in this version, it doesn't give me the same emotional goosebumps.
Too fast? Not enough emotion? Not being able to interpret the meaning of the words? Cecilia Bartoli has not a great voice, not is it beautiful, but she is full of vibrancy and surprise: this is a boy who just discovers sexual awakening! Perhaps a darker voice would be more suited? It is a mezzo soprano aria.

This is certainly a beautiful rendition of this aria. Perhaps those who gave it a thumbs down objected to something other than the singing. I think that the instrumental accompaniment is a little too loud. I found the pizzicato rather distracting.

To be honest Opera had never been my thing .. but i have to admit ever since the first time i listened to Patricia sing a few years a go now she's drawn me in like a magnet to it knowing now what had work people like Patricia put in to thier profession i truly appreciate what real Opera singers do and should sound like compaired to the fake wannabee's with microphones

Just listened to Patricia sing this aria yet again, and enjoyed it as much or more despite the repetition! I like to try to listen to at least one Patricia Janeckova performance every day. In addition to my earlier comments, it has struck me once again that it is not just the beauty of her voice and her technical perfection, but also the way she interprets the thoughts the composer has put into the aria...she seems to capture, in my opinion, exactly the emotions and expressions envisaged by Mozart, in this case.

that is some recommendation bearing in mind that Breganza was around 25 at the time of your link below and was a seasoned trained performer by comparison to this young lady, who had only just turned 18 at this performance. it will interesting to see how far Patricia has progressed by the time she reaches the ripe old age of 25 :-)
Just found out she passed. What a great preformer she was. This version of Voi che sapete and the doll aria brought joy in my hart, while her rendition of laudate dominum is one of the only times that music made my cry, What an artist and preformer the world has lost!

I first heard Patricia Janeckova's voice a few months ago, and TH-cam has her voice for about a decade so far. I was mesmerized by the clarity and brilliance of her voice.
She later became my walking companion.
However, I recently read on Wikipedia that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and has taken an indefinite hiatus from her career. I was very surprised.
The arias she sings in her operas are of course wonderful. I also learned about Lloyd Weber's song, "Pie Jesu" from "Requiem". What a pure voice.
I will always be waiting to hear your new voice again.

My favourite aria. Beautifully sung - superb. I'm not in anyway an expert, I'm merely a very ordinary lover of music, and for me there is just something missing in this version, it doesn't give me the same emotional goosebumps.

This outstanding performance makes one wonder who the nitwits are (241 of them as of October 11th 2020) who gave it a thumbs down.
This is certainly a beautiful rendition of this aria. Perhaps those who gave it a thumbs down objected to something other than the singing. I think that the instrumental accompaniment is a little too loud. I found the pizzicato rather distracting.
First:This is a part for a mezzo soprano and not for a coloratura soprano! Second: This is a "concealed" love-song!Nobody would sing a love-song at that speed! (voice excellent:performance very good)

To be honest Opera had never been my thing .. but i have to admit ever since the first time i listened to Patricia sing a few years a go now she's drawn me in like a magnet to it knowing now what had work people like Patricia put in to thier profession i truly appreciate what real Opera singers do and should sound like compaired to the fake wannabee's with microphones

Just listened to Patricia sing this aria yet again, and enjoyed it as much or more despite the repetition! I like to try to listen to at least one Patricia Janeckova performance every day. In addition to my earlier comments, it has struck me once again that it is not just the beauty of her voice and her technical perfection, but also the way she interprets the thoughts the composer has put into the aria...she seems to capture, in my opinion, exactly the emotions and expressions envisaged by Mozart, in this case.
