Such beautifully painted & just new to gouache and added lil tad of indigo (water color) to it and ended up with a very blue moon! Then tried acrylic over that & nice painting but moon (another planet) 😊. Practice more & ty!! Seems can get the gouache too thin or to thick (and often) my stars look like watered down splatters!
These are so stunning and vibrant and I love the layout and how you did the moon!! I have painted a galaxy before but I had to do a few layers before I could get it as vibrant as yours ( it was my first ever painting 😊)! Thank you so much for the fantastic tutorial and tip Renata!!!
I used to paint it in lots of layers myself, but then realized I need lot more pigment in a first layer and second paint on dry paper. Colors are much more vibrant that way. :)
Thank you Marena for this wonderful tutorial..by following your instructions I was able to get the rich layer of night sky which i earlier struggled to achieve through water colors. The bookmark turned out to be amazing though I still have a long way to go.. Thank you so much again :)
I tried this. It came out beautifully. Thank you so much for the tutorial 💜️💜️ I am not a person who tried painting before but your simple techniques are really easy to understand. The final work came beautifully 💜️
Hey, thank you! These are painted on a block of paper, so they do not really warp when painting, but when I have warps I iron it. If you wanna see how I do it there is a video on my channel: th-cam.com/video/oaQtTWgdBbY/w-d-xo.html
A lot of younger people do not look at books today except text books for school. However you can give them to your Bible reading friends. We are always looking for different bookmarks to mark our favorite passages or for Bible study in different books. I know I would use them. I love bookmarks. Your hand made ones are the most beautiful.
Hi I have a question! I love using watercolours but when I do the paper always starts flaking or ripping and I don’t know why. I use watercolour paper but it doesn’t make a difference. Am I doing something wrong? I’m not scared of using too much water in my paint because i don’t want it to start flaking and ruining me art. What can I do?
Hey Melanie, that should not be happening with watercolor paper. Check how thick is the paper you are using. Maybe is too thin. It should be at least 180gsm (90lbs), but even with that paper if you are going over same spot more times it could tear. My advice is 300gsm (140lbs). Cellulose paper tends to flake more than cotton paper. Also you might be using too stiff brush (maybe not for watercolors). Smoother paper also look more flaky when wet then some with a rougher texture. Hope that helped you. :)
hello and thank you very much. The problem with me when I paint even the first layer, is that my 300 g watercolor paper begins to deteriorate right away and gets these round paper dots even from the first layer. So in fact my paper damages even though I try not to stroke it with brush much. :(
@@MarenaART Thank you for replying so fast Marena. I finally finished them and will tag you but I need to admit, many a times during the painting process, I wanted to just throw the whole thing away but kept pushing myself reluctantly to keep going and see the final result, although the temptation to give up was so strong. And Thank you Marena, your videos are always encouraging me to do them. And It was not as easy as it looks btw......I felt I used too much colour and everything was turning bad 75% of the way 😊I will tag you my final results in Instagram.🌹
Hey, that is Clairefontaine Fontaine cold pressed watercolor paper 300gsm or 140lb, size 20 x 40 cm or 8 x 15.5 in, but I divided it into 6 parts and painted here on 3.
I am not sure what you exactly mean. Layers on the sky? After the first layer dried, I did not prewet the paper but took a lot of paint (which I did slightly dilute with water) in my brush and painted it on dry paper. I painted only two layers on the sky. Did you mean that? :)

Sorry to hear that. Some papers do that, but for some reason when they dry they look ok. Maybe, when buying new batch, try another brand.
