I have so much respect for Ethel Kennedy and what she has gone through in her life, good and bad. She has such integrity and class. She always looks younger than she is. She really was in love with Bobby and adored him. A match from Heaven. What a beautiful couple they were and family. Many blessings 🙏 to her.
God bless her having 11 kids. Must have been very hard on her raising them alone after Bobby was killed and they were so young. Jackie only had two, so as hard as it was losing Jack, she had it much easier than Ethel.
She could afford to hire maids to help her with the house and the kids she didn't do it alone!! God bless the women from those days that did it on their own!!!

I remember sitting at the table eating breakfast the morning after Robert Kennedy was shot. I was 7 or 8 and my grandfather walked into the kitchen and told my mother, "...Kennedy's been shot". My mother gasped in horror. Many years later I read that someone talked with and/or asked Ethel Kennedy about dealing with so many tragedies in her family and Mrs. Kennedy replied, "After a storm the birds sing. Why shouldn't we?"
Unfortunately, she bred those children to look more Kennedy than Rose was. She did not raise her children, she abandoned them to be raised by others. No wonder her older boys had such issues. She shunned her son David and he committed suicide. He was a vulnerable person and she didn't protect him.

@@snugbug5067 It didn't sit well with her mother Rose, who was as poor a mother as Ethel was. Rose was into flying to Paris to get the latest couture and left her kids to be raised by nannies. As adults, all her sons treated women poorly and were promiscuous. I suspect the promiscuity has some Oedipal connection due to their mother's indifference to her children. Rose was such a good Catholic (ha) that she refused to go to Kathleen's wedding to a divorced Protestant. I believe she essentially (though not legally) disowned Kathleen following her wedding. Kathleen died shortly thereafter in a plane crash. I would like to think that Rose felt shame and guilt when her daughter died...but she probably didn't care about the death of a "sinner" who married outside of the church.

Every woman who has married a Kennedy man from Joe Sr. onwards has always paid a difficult and challenging life. Kennedy men wanted their women to be brood mares and keep out of the men's business. So many affairs, heartaches, and other tragedies. Such a shame. You have to hope the women who married into the Kennedys really wanted it.

If Joe sr were speaking before you now in his next life.. He would tell you he has his regrets.. But given the circumstances he would have done it all over again because look what came of it... Had these men not died the way they did we would know nothing about the shady dealings their government is up to.. Had they not stirred the pot in Washington DC and just finished their terms in office ..and gone off to drink martinis beside the pool in Hyannis Port Massachusetts ...the world would be in far worse denial..
