  • Karl-Marx-Allee used to be called Stalinallee. The buildings along it were designed to showcase communist East Germany, with fashionable shops and spacious apartments for workers. Now it’s Berlin's largest monument to socialist city planning.

    I loved strolling down this street from Alexanderplatz to Frankfurter Tor it was all so monumental yet so peaceful and stopped for a bier at the Abgedreht

      If you take the roundabout at Strausbergerplatz, which is on Karl-Marx/Stalinallee, and go left coming from Alexanderplatz you‘d get to Leninplatz (today called Platz der Vereinten Nationen) which had a Lenin statue in its center
