Hi Rodger, I'm watching this on the 16th December 2021. Why did I tell you that, well, the recording date shown on your screen is the 16th December 2017. It took the algorithm 4 years to suggest this video to me.

Hi Roger thank you for the video and your tips for the laser cutter. Currently at my school I am doing DT (Design Technology) GCSE lesson. We are learning how to use the program "2D design", so that the laser cutter can cut our pieces out with no human error. But my lesson has too many people in it, so no one actually gets to cut them out separately one by one. So in conclusion this video and the ones that will come after that will be a big help, for me to learn about what our teacher is doing when he is laser cutting our work. Thank you!!!

    Hi Roger,
I am in the process of building my own co2 laser cutter with the parts I have been collecting over the last few years. Your videos have been inspirational to getting it completed. Unfortunately I only have room for a 60 watt tube.
    Cheers Dave.

Hi, Roger.... Question: can you take a CNC router cut object, and use the same software file in the Laser to 1) cut the object out of, for example a piece of timber so the outside profile of the CNC cut object is maintained, and 2) then etch onto the CNC object whilst in the Laser, for example to add words to an area of the CNC carving, such as in a ‘motto’ on a crest, etc...? If so, showing how to do this would be very informative.... I know adding a motto would be possible in the CNC, but it would be interesting to see if the two machines can be combined to produce such a finish... Enjoy your videos....👍🏻🙂

Hi, I have both lasers and a CNC router and if I want to carve and then etch/engrave after I take the CNC router file exported as a dxf and import that into lasercut

Looks like something I need in my shop! Have you tried drilling holes in glass using this laser? I'm looking for a less labor intensive method than mechanical core drilling in glass up to 5mm thick from opaque to clear.

Your opinion is it a waste of money to purchase a Chinese laser or to buy a quality machine
