- Welcome to part 11 of slamming the Murray LT1000 Widebody! In this video we finish prepping the body, add body filler, sand It all down, and apply a few coats of primer to get ready for paint!
I’m using a new microphone In this video (Rode wireless go 2) and Im still figuring It all out so please forgive the moments of audio absurdity, It will get better!
Im working on getting a PO box for y’all to send In your stickers, so stay tuned!
Although I do not plan on racing this lawn mower, I would consider this to be influenced heavily by race mower builds that I have seen. I may not have known exactly how to lower a riding lawn mower when this started, but I'm starting to get it figured out... I think
Tools used in this video:
3M rubber sanding block
60, 120, and 320 grit sand paper
HF 4-1/2” angle grinder with grinding, sanding, and cut-off wheels
Miller Millermatic 135 110v mig welder with .035” flux core wire
DeWalt 20v cordless drill
60 grit drill sanding attachment
If anybody asks, I do not recommend anyone, under any circumstances, or for any reason, to ever replicate, or attempt to replicate, the shenanigans portrayed in this video. This was a test conducted in accordance with the strict supervisory procedures and protocols put forth by me, to me and for me with regard to me own safety... Or something like that
🤞😎
Send your stickers to: PO Box 65041, San Antonio, TX 78265!!!!!!
I tried to send. But it was returned to sender..
@@SharpenedSteel1 dang it! I’ll run down to the post office and see what’s going on. Thank you for letting me know!
@@SharpenedSteel1 everything seemed fine at the post office and they said there shouldn’t be anything wrong with it so I’m going to send myself a test. Was it an envelope or a package?
Don’t be too hard on yourself bud. Good things take time. Your work looks great and your attention to detail really shows. Who cares if it’s “just a lawnmower”? It’s your project and you’re excited about it and take pride in it. That’s all that matters. Take care.
Thank you!
just found your channel today and binged the whole series. Made my sick day bearable. Im going to do one of these builds with my daughter so cheers for the inspiration
Thank you very much! I hope you feel better and good luck with the build!
Hey man! Hope all is okay! Waiting for more videos! I think the algorithm is coming around for your channel. I hope you haven't abandoned it! Lets go!
Definitely not abandoned! Life is trying to get in the way, but I'm still pushing. I'm working on finishing up editing the latest video now and I'm hoping to have it out this Sunday
Thank you for the encouragement!!
@@wybarprojects Can't wait!
Yo! Wheres the next episode? Ready to see the finished product.
I'm working on finishing editing now and I plan to have it out this Sunday!
Just found your channel today. Been binge watching your lawnmower videos all day! Great content.
Thank you!!!
I just watched all 11 of these videos and you have a new subscriber! Looking forward to future vids!
That's awesome, thank you!
We need the next part! This series is amazing! Awesome project I’d love to try.
Thank you very much! I’m working on it!
Brought to you by Markie. Sharpie sponsorship?? Hey Sharpie hook my man up! Keep up the great build videos. I love that you are pretty much doing this with just basic tools in your garage and repurposing things, shows folks you can build cool things with small investments in tools/hardware.
That’s the idea! Thank you very much!
I’m really enjoying the series. I know it’s more time, but how about more bondo? All the body guys I know lay down thin layer after thin layer to get that glassy-smooth finish.
Also, how will you clear any debris that builds up under and behind the seat?
If I was going for showroom/sema quality, I definitely would have put more effort into the bondo, but it's just a mower and I will accept that 😆 The seat will still be able to fold forward as it did stock, I'm using the original hinged seat mounting plate
I just found your channel. Hope you keep making videos and do more projects.
I'm working on it! But real life is trying to get in the way
If you primer surfaces before you bondo, the bondo will actually stick better. Thus, you can see your imperfections before you start as well.
I had no idea, but I'll give it a shot the next time I use filler.
Thank you!
So we just gonna ignore the hundreds of shoppingcarts?😂
Nice vid tho 🤝 just finished every video of the slamming project love it
Thank you!
🛒🫧🤷♂️
Glad to see ya back at this
Thank you!
This would be amazing to tow a float for a local parade. I want one! 🎉
heya, can i suggest you get some copper flat bar, 1/4 thick, 2" wide by 8 or so inch long.
weld doesn't stick to copper, so you could have clamped those infills on the outside and tacked from the back to get them really flat.
i welded in several panels into a mini moke leading up to christmas 2022, and my copper bar was used quite a bit.
I will absolutely try that. Thank you!
The new mic is great! Your vocal audio is loud and clear. Not too loud, just right. I think it's amazing how fast you move around and get things done while the music is playing! Flash Gordon has advanced from comic books and animated videos! 🤣 You kept giving the work the finger treatment. Is that polite in a public video? 😲 🤪 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I'm glad I caught this Slammed series as a work in progress and some of my suggestions could be implemented on the fly. I really appreciate all the replies to my questions. It's looking great, Walt! Coming along nicely. 👍👍
Lmao 🤣
Thank you very much! I really appreciate all the input
Take your time bro make it right don't burn yourself out
that's why we have a few projects at a time - but usually my other projects are just vehicle maintenance, shop organization/cleaning, etc
Shits fire the entire process👊🏿
Videos like this inspire people to go out there and use there imagination and custom build stuff. No agenda or set plans but lets try this etc. Thanks for sharing. Awesome stuff
Thank you very much!!
Can't wait to see it all one color. Thanks all the hard work!
I watched all 11 parts i love how you explain everything you do also you earned new sub keep it up man
Thank you very much!
@@wybarprojects when is next video comming i really wanna see it get finished
@@filip_gamer7705 I do too! It should be out by next weekend
@@wybarprojects Nicee ill be ready to watch it
What a super cool project!! Great job!
Thank you!!
Keep it up, we enjoy watching your projects.
Thank you!! Will do!
Such an awesome project.
Thank you!
i really wanted to see it with the clean body, it looks fire keep it up :)
Thank you!!
Do you plan to add..fenders for the front??? A model T type.. That would ..to me..complete this vision. Let me know.. I'll be doing similar soon..
That's cool, but I really don't get all the lowered stuff. In spite of that it really is kind of cool and I wish I had the ability/drive to get started on the projects I've had. Funds are an issue here also but I won't go down that road. I guess that's why you did a lawn tractor to keep busy because it won't break the bank. Cool video, good luck!
You nailed it! lmao
I'm not a lowered car guy by any means and this is the only lowered thing I own. The main reason I went this route is because everybody else seems to go the lifted route
Glad to see new videos are coming out soon. I already gave away the majority of my stickers, but I may have some floating around I could mail out. What are your plans with the shopping carts?
The shopping carts is my main gig, I’ve been doing it professionally for 14 years now but I was raised around it
Get an old aluminum ladder and make a dragster
Just burned through all 11 of your videos in this series and have really enjoyed it. My only suggestion is ditching the underpowered Briggs Powerbuilt and finding a Briggs opposed twin for more torque. I love how your rear fenders turned out. I compete in lawnmower dirt drags and want to fab up a similar setup.
Thank you very much! I would swap engines, but I’m trying to keep it budget friendly right now. The future is a different story 😎
I got my oppy for free! Keep an eye open, they're around:)
You use that flux core a lot, would you recommend it? Or would you have gone with another similar welder?
I would definitely recommend it, but there are also a few others that are lower cost that I would just as quickly recommend like a Lincoln or Klutch. The Miller was a company purchase, but if I was buying it personally I would probably go with Klutch or Lincoln due to cost
As for the heat, thats why I like running flux-core - I keep that fan pointed at me lol. No gas to blow away.
Have you seen mycustomgokart's John deere 108 awn mower?
Ya, I have. I just wish he had a little more in-depth videos on exactly how he built it
@@wybarprojects i have a lawn mower that i won t be useing it for mowing, planing on doing something like you did
Same I am too big for a go kart I made so I want to sell it and make one of those!
Anyway to lower it without a welder?
There’s always a way, but it would be more difficult without a welder. You could probably drill and bolt the pieces together
@@wybarprojects ok, thanks! I’ll have to figure it out. I think in the craftsman mowers you can just flip the front Axel and I should be able to figure out the back one
So cool im building one to but on a BIG budget becuase im 14 and cant get er job but i have made a gas padel, break and pully swap and im going to slam it here in a few days i think. my ran 30kph .
That’s awesome!
@@wybarprojects Here is the chanel for it :)
@@ProjectRaceMower you just got yourself a new subscriber! I’ll keep an eye out for updates
@@wybarprojects wow thanks alot. That is just more motivation
No live today?
No, I’m working nights the second half of this week and just lost track of what day it was. I’ll jump on tomorrow afternoon around 4:30
@@wybarprojects cool I'll drop by and say hi
I freaking missed it again!
No more videos??
Yes, definitely more videos coming! The summer heat was brutal and my job has been getting busier the last few months, but I'm still working away on it!
why are there so many shopping carts? Nice progress too!
Thank you!
I sell shopping carts and shopping cart accessories 🤷♂️😂
@@wybarprojects ok lol
Are you useing flux core or what second time I've asked
Yes I am
Where to send stickers
Im getting a PO box and I’ll let you know as soon as I get it done!

👍
I missed the freeken live stream...
No worries brother! Taco Bell needed you 😂
@@wybarprojects Alright🤣 not to sure how I feel about being known for Taco Bell☠️
Shopping carts?
All day everyday 😂
An seat would be nice , if it wasn`t nothing but an old ford tractor seat but sitting Low , a Racing seat might be Better for the ROD MOD style Build = ?
A seat would be awesome! I have an upholstery guy that’s going to do a custom seat for me
@@wybarprojects cool , will wait to see it completed , have a great evening
Whats with all the shopping carts???? Where's the next video?
The shopping carts is my career, the videos are my hobby/passion. I'm working on the next video but I was slowed down by the summer heat. I'm getting back into it now and I should have the next part up in about 1-2 weeks.
Man, having that smooth finish is nice, I like and prefer it, but I just don't want to take all that time with most of my projects. I'd rather get a few done/riding/fixed and be at 90% and _maybe_ go back later - OR just call it "rat-rod" patina style lmao. Depends what I'm working on though, haven't built anything fun yet, mostly tractor implements and repairs. I need to run some 220v 30-40a and get a proper welder.
Can we talk about the government? Lol
Dude are you ripping off shopping carts and scraping them out, to pay for your lowrider addiction 😮😅
