Get the PGCE and QTS and you won't need to work in a low-paid Tesol/Tefl/ training school. International schools have big salaries, contracts, paid holidays, (long holidays) good packages etc. You can also add stipulations to your contract if you wish. You wouldn't work as a homeroom teacher (local teachers do that job). I think the problem is some people learn about the big salaries in China to teach English. What they don't understand is if you are not a qualified teacher you are not going to get the same perks. Many international schools are now looking for staff with the above credentials and a Master's degree.

She used pictures of herself in a wig to land the job. But... she showed up bald. It's considered masculine in their culture and she should have known this already after living in Asia. Working with children requires the highest degree of transparency and she played around with this by presenting one way and then showing up another. That puts people on edge when they are trying to judge your character to be able to trust that you will be safe enough to work with children. bald women are common in some cultures but not in Asian ones, and she knew this, and chose to ignore the impact being bald would have on her employers' opinion of her. They told her TO HER FACE that they weren't happy with the change, and she decided to ignore how they felt, but was shocked when they cared so little about her that their negligence almost got her imprisoned, HEAVILY fined and/or possibly deported. She used the wig in a deceptive manner in which drastic appearance changes like the one she pulled, are not commonplace nor readily acceptable. If she didn't care about their opinions, she should not have put herself in such a vulnerable position and at their mercy for them to employ her, pay her, and allow her to stay in THEIR country. Simple: Go to their country, play by their rules.

@@KickinTheBucket-Listidk how it is in China, but I live in Korea and there are many reasons to reject this. 1 is you won't get your severance pay. And 2, you will most likely get deported as usually a job who fires you will not give you a Letter of Release which means you cannot get another job, which means you cannot keep your visa which means deportation. Now if you don't want to stay that's fine, but many people want to. Many people also want severance and many "schools" will fire people during the 11th month in order to not have to pay severance. I'm assuming there's a similar reason about why she wouldn't want to be fired. We are immigrants. Technically we're not even immigrants. Someone with an immigrant visa has more freedom. We just have a visa that says we're here to do one thing and one thing only and if you can't do that (or can't change to another visa type) then it's bye bye for you.

You are at a disadvantage as a foreigner, the labour laws are weak (unless if you have connections to fight disputes), the parents themselves can discriminate against you, and in general the school system is from a century ago (corporal punishment is normal).

It is certainly not the place to just go around being strong and standing out all the time if you are vulnerable and need the people of that society to like you enough to pay you and not have you deported.

When employers tell you to smile more it’s because the expression on your face says “l don’t want to be here”. I worked for large companies that required employees to smile on the phone because the customer could hear it in our voice. American working culture is different than the rest of the world but I have noticed throughout the years that the younger generations don’t like taking orders or like employers checking on their work or progress. They are also the kind of people that can’t hold a job and it will get harder for you to work for someone the older you get with that attitude.

In your last video, the school had to pay for your contract, bribes for visa issues, substitute teacher, workers compensation for work related injury, etc. I can tell you do not own a business. Many businesses will keep employees they don’t like or who doesn’t fit in if they INVESTED a lot of money. They will keep you until the end of the contract or until they can replace you. This happens all over the world. If it saves money, NO we don’t fire you immediately. When we realize you aren’t worth the money, or costing us money, then we now will consider firing you. You didn’t have the personality this school wanted, but also, due to the accidents, was costing them money too. You became a big money pit for them outside of your personality.
Also, yes, you cannot be fired for injury on the job, but I did not see anyone in the last video comments say that. That rule is in many countries too. But that wasn’t the reason they were firing you. They listed many, but over all your personality didn’t fit into their work culture.
I know it’s hard that this is how business works, and I know it sucks that MANY companies are abusive, over work employees, or have cliques that you must fit in. It’s the same in corporate America too.
Good luck and I hope you learned from this. I also hope the school now gives warning in writing, so this doesn’t happen again to them as well.

The smiling thing🤣 I have watched many black vloggers in China. It seems the Chinese like outgoing, extroverted people even if you are clownish, talkative, funny and inquisitive. Looks don't matter in China because I saw a handsome Blasian guy from the USA being ignored like a fly. He was quiet and expressionless, not making any effort, expecting people (women) to throw themselves at him. People just ignored him in the restaurant and he went to vent his frustrations on TH-cam, unaware of his flaws. The Chinese love personality more than anything. That's probably it.

** Horrible ** This video is BOTH misleading and irresponsible. I will just be direct and blunt WITHOUT the pointless "supportive, positive you are the victim card. 1) You are facing MUCH WORST situation and circumstances in South Korea. 2) Why and how on earth do you actually pull China's name to make a video? Completely sounds and feel like you took all the salary, your funds dried up and now you have to pull such an attempt to get views and clickbait? Most of this don't even add up. 3) I actually had much more respect understanding your previous situation (which you completely LEFT OUT many important details e.g: why did your previous employer directly fire you, the real and actual reasons and the problems you have caused (character, attitude) that you did not truthfully tell your audience. You actually did admit multiple times even your colleagues dislike you. There are multiple individuals involved towards throwing you out in all situations.

Are you okay? Did you take your medication? What on earth are you going on about with your pointless, nonsensical, incomprehensible, unparagraphed, gibberish? Can you first learn to speak and write before you spew nonsense on people's channels? Go get a hobby.

A lot is missing from these stories. In her recordeings of them, she always escalates very quickly with these people who are trying in the gentlest way possible to tell her that they don't like her or want her around and her only response is to try use "the law" against them. She's over there being combative in a communist country whose highest social values are conformity and cohesion. She's not going to "teach" this society anything, no one is going to rescue her if she gets in trouble, and she thinks she's going to get money by putting herself at the mercy of people she KNOWS don't like her and expecting the world to feel sorry for her.

You need to move on. Your recording can’t be used as evidence because I don’t think that they knew you were recording them. The recordings are illegal. Complaining online and playing those recordings just make you look like the bad guy. You sound difficult to deal with in them and you always have to an excuse. No accountability whatsoever. Last but not least, you don’t like the school, don’t like your coworkers etc, why are you fighting to go back. Move on, stuff happens

In China, if you record a conversation that you are a part of, you generally do not have to inform the other party for the recording to be legal.
According to Article 63 of the Civil Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China, audio recordings can be used as evidence in civil cases as long as they are obtained legally. This means that if your boss fired you illegally and you recorded the conversation without informing them, the recording could be admissible in court🙂

Islandgirl, you sound extremely judgmental, mean spirited, condescending and cold. It is not your place to tell her that she “needs to move on” either. She is still recovering from her traumatic experience. Her recovery will take as long as it takes. *If she wants to vent on her channel 24/7 for the next 5 years, she can.*
If you go through a prolonged traumatic experience and people take the same nasty, dismissive approach towards you, you might change your tune.

TH-cam is about sharing experiences. Nolu has every right to talk about her own story on her own channel, and it can be useful information for someone else going through the same experience. If you feel you don't need it maybe you should be the one moving on...TH-cam is vast enough for you to find satisfaction somewhere else
