I’m not sure if you’re on the mk7 gti/mqb pages on Facebook but literally just yesterday I made a post about this asking the same exact questions about my CTS catless downpipe I just received and I got dragged in the mud for it lmao so it’s good to hear a fresh perspective from another fellow VW enthusiast. I’ve owned nothing but vws my entire life and this is my first MK7 I’ve purchased and I can’t wait for the future with this car 2021 GTI S dsg7 tornado red ~~ 🤙🏼❤️
There is no such thing as a mod friendly dealership. The TD1 flag happens automatically, the dealership has nothing to do with it or control it. A JB1/JB4 is still detectable by looking at boost etc.
Hey Lucas, you're my most trusted source of GTI info, and I need your help. I have $10k to spend on mods for my 2015 Autobahn (non-PP, but with lighting package) - I just bought wheels and tires, and OBD11, but the car is stock otherwise. How would you spend the money for a daily driver/cruiser that will never be tracked? I'm in my 40's and comfort is more important than noise and performance. Deliver your wisdom!
lol thanks for the kind words. i assume you have no more warranty so at this point just get a dp (catted if you want less noise) and a stage 2 tune. if you're really feeling it you can go IS38. everything else you can keep it stock and it'll be fine. i'm on unitronic and it's more conservative compared to like EQT so go with whatever tune you decide on
Get the PP brake kit, and comfy suspension. Also get an intake for great turbo noise and just a res delete. And just go for cosmetics if you don’t favor performance.
To add to Lucas , with a budget like that one, PLEASE get a good quality catted downpipe. My CTS catted one sucked , get a good one from like unitronic for example. At that point you might as well get a tune , and the stage 2 from unitronic is very bearable and easy to drive. Enjoy and best of luck !
@@diegogolfhotel Thanks Diego! I'm actually very close to Unitronic's HQ, and am definitely getting their tune. With Stage 2 and the downpipe, how loud does the car get? It's still a daily and my wife won't like a loud car :)
What do you have done to yours, is the one in freehold mod friendly? I really want a gti and i wanna do stage 2 but I’m hesitant Bc of reliability and I don’t want to void it lol
Hey, would appreciate an answer if possible. That ODB 11, is it worth buying it with a standard MK7? I don't have the GTI, just a regular 1.6 TDI 2015 and I'm not sure if I can do anything cool with it on my car? Thanks bud!
I personally own a mk7 gti but you can definitely do some tweaks even with the standard golf, of course it’d be better with the LP lights but yes it is worth it. You can tweak the engine program as well on the standard golfs to have an Audi program for responsiveness. It is very handy if you come across issues within the vehicle as well, just go buy it. Also TDI’s are fucking cool.
@@adrianflores7173 Mine is as good as brand new. One owner before me and it only has 2000 miles on it. I don't wanna fuck my "new" car up lol. Also, how to tweak the engine program? I have 110 hp :S (sorry for the newb questions, I only had old vw's before this one..) antisocial.mk7 on instagram

Wouldn't obd11 tweaks be detected as well? I know most of them are harmless but it does allow custom coding. So I wonder if they flag it.

^ lol what he said. But yeah you should be able to unlock some stuff too and it works for all VAG from like 1980 to present. Also good for diagnosis

do you think i should get a 17’ gti for a first car?
Any Mk7 would be a great choice! Just make sure maintenance has been kept up to date, and budget a little extra for anything that wasn't.

So jb4 doesn’t void warranty? And isn’t detectable?
As long as you take it off before it’s scanned. It’s after the ECU.
Is a 2016 gti still a good car bc every video I see everyone says the best one is the 2017
Just cause 2017 is the best doesn’t mean 2016 isn’t good. It’s still very good
How did you car run on a downpipe? Seems like mine just runs like shit with it on. Lean/rich code popping up
U got to go stage 2
Does coilovers void your warranty?
Nope!
I'm gonna have to call you on th OBD11 tweets expecly if your playing with certain coding examples playing with the Haldex settings
TD1 is real though....
Do lowering springs void warranty?
Some might go with vwr lowering springs they are OEM+
I have vwr lowering springs and it dropped like 1.5"
No

6:58 anyone knows that wrap color?
I think its called a two tone midnight purple or something not sure
My salesman said I could do a exhaust and it wouldn't void it wtf
Same, I was told exhaust and intake was all I could do. Anything more like a down pipe then it would void.
@@Skrillezzzs right pretty fucked up but hey I'm sure you could do front side and rear clips and say it's 3m tape
I love my gti i need like 50 more horsepower how to achieve without voiding a warranty
Short answer is, you can’t.
The jb4 tunes your best bet, just make sure you take it off everytime you go to a dealer
lol 😂
Thumbs down for attitude, I’m disabled on a fixed income I can’t afford to risk my warranty
Then leave your car stock. It’s still a rad car bone stock
