    I wonder if I can implement this into my old video intercom. I have analog mic and speaker pinout and coaxial cable with analog video signal coming from the camera.

    Hey, sorry for the late comment, I absolutely love your setup, I would like to ask, if we do it with raspberry pi zero, and we lack of sound output, we repleace it with a usb-hub connectes usb-to jack sound output and microphone input, will it work properly? Thank you for your answer😄

    I used a pi zero w, standard pi commands for video and still pics, usb mic. Still deciding on if I will hardwire the power or use a battery with a solar charger. I'm in a not to safe area so I use the zero (pi lite version which has a smaller footprint). I may place the unit up above the door facing down so it will be hard to steal. But the zero works very good. I did everything he did here but used the zero.

      The pi zero doesn't have an audio out, so how did you solder the signal wire? Did you choose an audio HAT?

      @@MagicPlants Sorry , forgot to mention. I use it with a battery powered 2 way intercom. Actually it's almost like a basic walki-talki. Some special wiring and got it to turn the camera on when the button was pushed on the 2 way intercom but I had to turn it off from my end to save the battery. There was actually enough room in the intercom to fit the pi and camera. So no need to a mic and or speaker. Got intercom from Aliexpress. Plan to add a solar attachment but will put that high out of peoples reach.

    Hello can i use the pi zero wireless one instead of the 3? I have audio and microphone on it. But not sure about how much processing power it will require.

    • @sneakyolof1835
      @sneakyolof1835  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it should work fine on the pi zero as the SDK has support for it. However the part where I soldiered wires to the analog audio pins on the back of the pi 3 will not work as the pi zero does not have the 3.5 mm jack...

    Along with lots of other users, I use a Windows PC and Android phone. Can this be adjusted to work with those instead? Most Rpi users would be in the same camp I'd imagine

      Look like that Seajei SDK currently only supports iOS, and so you need a Mac and iPhone...

    Hello Olof,
    I just came across your video about building a video doorbell.
    Excellent project! Thank you very much!
    I don‘t have an Apple app developer account and have never used Xcode before.
    Can you please guide me (and maybe others, too) what you have done or what is in particular needed to get the app running on my personal iOS devices?

    • @sneakyolof1835
      @sneakyolof1835  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Stefan you can download XCode from the App Store on Mac and open the project in the Seajei SDK, compile, and run it on the iPhone Simulator. If you want to run it on a phone or publish something to the App Store then you will need to pay the $100/year developer fee.

      Good day@@sneakyolof1835 ,
      thank you so much for your response.
      I haven’t actually started with the video door bell project, yet.
      So great you have responded!
      What if I just want to run the App on the iPhone itself?
      Can I use the standard Doorbell App from Seajei downloaded from the AppStore?
      When I start the app on my iPhone it immediately asks for the unique ID.
      Can I still add the unique token for the iPhone onscreen alert message within the app?
      Best regards
